I was interested in this for a long time, having consistent issues with a OnePlus and later a Google Pixel phone with my VAG car's head unit which after trying multiple cables without joy I put down to a quirk of the car.Set up was very easy and once everything was sorted this has been an absolute dream! Removing the need to plug the phone in has completely removed all my issues!Connection is quick, consistent and stable and on longer journeys I can still charge the phone via an alternative socket in the car. No delay in responsiveness and no lag or distortion on audio. The unit is small and I've popped that and the connection cable in the cubby that's too small to hold a phone so it's completely out of sight and mind!Best bit is I can move this to a different car when I upgrade, what an absolute godsend! The price is completely justified in my eyes by the consistent performance and the stress it's removed from my life!
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, be ready to persevere with settings!
I’ve been using AAWireless for a few weeks now and I’m very happy with it. It lets me use Android Auto wirelessly in my car, which is super convenient and hassle-free. No more fumbling with cables or worrying about compatibility issues. It’s small, easy to set up, and works smoothly with my phone. The app also has some advanced features that let you tweak the settings to your liking. One thing to note is that you need to set up Android Auto via wire first before using AAWireless. This is a one-time process that ensures your phone and car are paired properly. After that, you can enjoy wireless Android Auto every time you start your car. If you encounter any issues with the connection or the audio, you can try changing the settings in the app, such as the passthrough mode or the audio buffer size. These options can help you optimize the performance and quality of the wireless Android Auto experience. The only downside I can think of is the price, which is a bit steep for a dongle. But I think it’s worth it for the convenience and functionality it offers. It also saves me from having to buy a new car stereo that supports wireless Android Auto, which would be way more expensive. Plus, the customer service is great and very responsive. They helped me solve a minor issue I had with the audio in no time.Overall, I think AAWireless is a great product for anyone who wants to enjoy wireless Android Auto in their car. It’s a game-changer for me and I highly recommend it. 5 stars! 👍
4.0 out of 5 stars Works very well and easy to set up.
The app guided me through the setup which is very straightforward and took about three minutes. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds to start Android Auto after I turn on the ignition. It uses a combination of 5GHz WiFi and Bluetooth which uses a fair amount of phone battery so I need to put it on charge on longer journeys. It also makes my Samsung run quite hot, especially when I put it on my wireless charger. The sat nav voice had some stuttering but the app has a setting to reduce that which solved the problem. It's been reliable so far and works seamlessly. A good buy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up, fast connecting To Android Auto
Works great, easy to set up with the companion app, small and compact easy to tuck away under the dash, shame a USB-C to USB adapter is not supplied which was needed for my Seat. Takes a little longer to connect with the first start up of the day but during the day it seems to connect a lot quicker. Been using for a couple of months now with no drop outs, not sure if it's because I purchased a good quality USB-C adapter, mine is a Syntech 5Gbps USB 3.0 adapter with a no conflicting shielded circuit board so no conflicting with 2.4GHz WiFi signal purchased from Bolo. Very happy with the AA wireless 2023 android auto dongle.
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Device, Great Troubleshooting
Very nicely made product, seems decent quality. The manual is very basic and you need to rely on the companion app which is not a problem. The companion app is very good. Takes you through every step and if you hit a roadblock the troubleshooting is amazing. I've never come across a device with troubleshooting as good as this. I am very impressed especially for the price.I bought it for my partner's phone (Honor 90 Lite) which absolutely refused to work with Android Auto via a wired connection. It now works fine with this little box. My only complaint is it doesn't seem to switch off when the car is off, it keep blinking and searching for the phone so we do unplug the box manually each time we get out the car but it's really not an issue.Excellent bit of kit, designed well, developed well, good quality and good value. Music works, Google maps works and WhatsApp notifications work. Zero issues.UPDATEDoesn't play nice with Honor 5G, seems to slow down and crash. Turning 5G off fixes it. Not sure if it's specifically an Honor issue or an issue with this device.
Easy setup, game changer for Android Auto
My car doesn't have wireless Android Auto and I was tired of constantly having to physically connect and disconnect my phone to the stereo in order to use Android Auto, which is different from a simple Bluetooth connection.Bought this one after lengthy research and never regretted it.This one comes with an Android app (downloaded from the Play Store) that simplifies setup and makes it a breeze. This is my experience now:Phones in my pocket, open and start the car and within 10 seconds Android Auto is connected and starts my music (a setting) and shows my my maps and the apps I selected. The convenience is well worth the price.None of the lenghty lag that some experience with other devices.Steering wheel and head unit controls all respond well. Response time is about 1 third of a second which I think is very acceptable.Recommended.Update: someone asked the question whether this unit can be powered via another source (like a cigarette lighter usb charger) to free up the car's usb port for another use.I confirmed this won't work. This unit needs to be connected to the car's infotainment system via its usb port to work.Thanks.
Confiable
48hrs In: Highly Impressed!
I drive a 2021 Chevy Equinox, with CarPlay and Android Auto built in, however, it requires a wired connection. So originally I bought 2 Dongles:A "Carlinkit" dongle for CarPlay, and a Motorola MA1 for Android Auto. This worked well surprisingly, because the Car itself dictates which phone to connect based on which Key fob / Profile is active. (preface: I carpool with my Dad. He's an iPhone user, I'm an Android fanboy)Then the MA1 died after just over a year of use, during a 2.5hr trip. It just croaked. No warning, no glitching, just flat out died right then and there. I haven't been able to reset or get it working since.Having been curious about AAWireless's products, I figured for nearly the same price as the MA1, why not give it a shot! 2 days in, several trips later, and I'm thoroughly impressed. The setup for Android Auto was essentially, Plug & Play. The app made everything easy, connected and ran on the first try, and every trip since. It does what it says on the box, and so far, it does it flawlessly. I haven't had any stuttering with the sound or delays in navigation. It just, works. It also connects nearly instantly. the MA1 needed at least 7-10 seconds before things were ready. Then, while digging through settings in the app (something severely lacking on the MA1, which has no interface whatsoever) I saw something intriguing. "CarPlay BETA" This suddenly made the little AAWireless Dongle interesting. CarPlay AND Android Auto on ONE dongle? Really?!Yes really. It works. The instructions outline exactly what will happen, even explaining that your iPhone will disconnect and it'll look like it failed. Then, it reconnects, does a bit of hidden magic, and suddenly you've got CarPlay on your dash! It absolutely looked like the setup went wonky, but then it worked; And works quite well for being a BETA software feature! What really surprised me was how easily the little Dongle handles juggling the devices. It really does interface well with my Car's device features. The Car makes the decision on which phone to connect, then the AAWireless dongle listens and does its job. Previously, with two separate dongles, I had to go into the car's setting and disable Android Auto on one Profile, then go in and disable CarPlay on the other.Even then, when the car started, the two Dongles would get into a fight as to which got control over the dash, and it took up to 20 seconds for it to decide.. During that delay my phone and my Dad's would throw a fit of notifications, "Connected, Disconnected, Connected, Disconnected, etc, etc." It wasn't terrible, but it was annoying. Now with just the AAWireless Dongle, if the Car tells it to activate Android Auto, my phone connects no issue. If the car asks for CarPlay (different user profile) the dongle doesn't fight with Android. It looks for the iPhone paired, and does the rest. It Just, works. When my Dad starts the car in the morning, my phone doesn't even detect it, and vice versa. Its a really well optimized feature even though its in BETA!Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed, quite surprised, and would absolutely recommend this product. For the same price as the MA1, and about $20 cheaper than the Carlinkit dongle, you get two working protocols in one little box without the buggy mess of double dongles and wonky device juggling.
