    I liked the idea of getting a practical demo to help teach grandchildren. The problem was the support. I sent detailed information of the issues, and they replied but had not properly read what it submitted.

    KEYESTUDIO ESP32 Smart Home Starter Kit for Arduino and Python is good started kit to learn ESP32. It has full kit for home automation stuff, Sensor kit. All coding for python and Arduinio included in documentation. Bought this to get some hand on experience building sensors for the home that I can then add to an IOT platform. Very simple instructions on wiring and detailed explanations given for the sample programs that go with the projects. My kids make many projects using ESP32 and the sensors associated with this kit.

    I bought this as a project to do with my nephew. The kit comes with various sensors and a controller board which uses a version of Python suited for these smaller boards. The online instructions were easy to follow and now my nephew has a small smart home in his room! A good STEM project for kids.

    Zero instructions. This is not a "Starter Kit."

    There was only a small pamphlet in the kit that vaguely suggest you can go get instructions. NOPE. I want them in the kit. Then when I went to get them, they were hard to find and didn't work on my iPad. WORST OF ALL, they bore only a passing resemblance to my actual kit, leaving me to figure out what to do.There was missing hardware and no guidance on troubleshooting getting it to work with macOS.I am returning this for a kit that is actually beginner friendly.
