5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install and so much better than the AMD cooler
I started with the AMD cooler to try save a little money but there was an annoying tick sound to the fan.The PA has had amazing reviews, and not wanting an AIO went for it.The mounting system is simple and easy to fit, but the instructions are a bit basic so maybe check out a video on YouTube. The supplied paste is about enough for 1.5 applications. So you can make a mistake, but not much! The tube is huge but this does make it easier to handle vs some tiny ones I've used in the past. The fans come with a Y splitter for the CPU fan header which I used. The ARGB is daisy chainable but my case has a controller with enough spare headers so I used that instead. The only real gotcha is if you have other ARB fans you might want to check where led "1" is so you can clock them the same and the patterns match. Mine are out by 90 degrees but I don't think it bothers me enough to open it all up to change it again as they are oriented for easiest cabling. The fans are nice and quiet and no annoying clicking!Temps where also a huge improvement. On the AMD cooler I was idling around 55C, I now idle at around 38C a 17C improvement! Under burst loads it peaked at around 55C so where I was idling before the upgrade.Would recommend this cooler, great value, looks great and awesome performance.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed with this
I recently found myself wanting to update my small form factor PC in a Cooler Master NR200. I had a super low profile noctua cooler on there for the longest time, but as I rearranged it, I found myself with a lot of clearance and wanted to see if I could get better temperatures.Of all the coolers on the market, I found very few that managed to fall short of 155mm height, and this was the only one in white. So I was sort of stuck with it, and at the price point I was sure this was going to be underwhelming or not much better.I was pretty wrong about that. Here's why:- This thing is large, and takes a lot of heat. My 5600x sits at ~35 idle, and I haven't seen it break 50 yet at some pretty demanding workloads. It doesn't say what TDP its supposed to dissipate, but neither do Noctua anymore. Ultimately, I'm pretty confident that this will outperform most standard air coolers, and is likely comparable to the huge dual heat sink design ones. Probably a bit worse than them (Although this is another assumption I might regret making), but at £33 at the price of writing that's astounding.- It's white, which is what I needed for this PC. There aren't a lot of white coolers, and I actually couldn't find any with dual heatsinks at all that were less than 155cm high.- The fans are sweet. I've used Thermalright fans a few times now, and same review goes to them too; addressable RGB, silent enough operation, silicone anti-vibration mounts, ARGB daisy-chainable. They have a lot of features that most manufacturers skip at this price point, and considering they're like a tenner each separately that means that the heat sink/mounting hardware is costing me ~£13? That's great.- Mounting hardware included is pretty simple. AMD sockets simply use the backplate that's already there and it took like 5 minutes to install, not including uninstalling the previous one.- RAM clearance is good. The heat sink has cutouts for slightly longer ram to fit under, and the second fan can go either side of the heat sink so as to not mess with the RAM clearance. I'm using Corsair low profile RAM, but there's a decent bit more space leftover.- It may be huge, but the footprint is still a lot smaller than an ITX board, so as long as the height isn't an issue this is really a space-efficient option.
5.0 out of 5 stars Keeping it Cool: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Air Cooler
Alright, so I just upgraded my CPU cooling game with the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE, and let me tell you, my computer feels like it's sipping iced tea on a hot day. I'm no tech genius, just a person tired of hearing their PC sound like a jet engine.First things first, the size – it's not this towering monolith that swallows up your entire rig. At 120mm, it fits comfortably without turning your build into a spaceship. Plus, it doesn't look half bad. Sleek design, and the black coating gives it that "serious business" vibe.Installation was surprisingly painless. No need for a degree in engineering – just slap it on and tighten a few screws. The instructions were like a buddy guiding me through it; I didn't feel like I needed to consult a tech dictionary. Now, the cooling power. This thing is like a ninja in the shadows – quiet but deadly effective. My temps dropped like they just heard a great joke. Even under heavy loads, it's keeping its cool without sounding like a hurricane in my room. And trust me, I appreciate the silence.Build quality is top-notch. It feels robust and well-made, like it's ready to take on CPU heat with a vengeance. The heat pipes do their job, and the whole thing just screams reliability. Plus, it's compatible with a bunch of different sockets, so you're not limited in your CPU choices. The Peerless Assassin 120 SE is a game-changer for me. If you're tired of your PC sounding like it's about to take off, and you want reliable, efficient cooling without breaking the bank, this cooler is definitely worth a look. My computer's running cooler than a polar bear in a snowstorm, and I'm here for it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet, cool, unbeatable value for money
Ryzen 5700X doesn't get over 50C core temp under full load and it's not even trying. It's just 20C over case air temp. Water coolers stand aside, there's a new guy in town.Comes with a variety of mounts for different processors, decent thermal paste, and Y splitter so two fans can run off one CPU fan header.Build quality is excellent. My only observation is that one fan is a bit tight on Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 in an MSI MAG X570 tomahawk motherboard, but this could be alleviated by moving the fans to the other side of the cooler fins in my case (the fans can easily be moved either side of the cooler fins). It's sooo quiet...100% recommended and would buy again.
Great air alternative to liquid cooling
Using it for Ryzen 7800X3D for almost a year now and completely satisfied.Idle temperatures are around 45 degrees, but it never goes above 75 under the highest load
