5.0 out of 5 stars Ths is the must have DVD for those new to rebounding.
I purchased a rebounder to help with my fitness as I can’t do anything that’s high impact on my joints. I was impressed with the quality of the Fit bounce pro from Maximus life so decided to buy the beginners bounce mini trampoline DVD to go with it. What a great choice. Being new to the style and type of exercise its important to ensure you do the exercises correctly to prevent injury. (important to me as my knees joints are bad.) Being low impact, rebounding is the ideal exercise to improve my core strength and get me back in shape. The DVD is split into different sections and there is plenty of programme/exercise choice for beginners to more intense workouts with professionals to guide you every step of the way. I can’t recommend this DVD enough. I was lucky to get it while it was on promotion with a 20% saving but quite honestly would have happily paid the full price. I just wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
Good video, new mom's may require some adjustments
I recently got a trampoline to do low impact work outs on. I got this video because I wanted to learn some moves and workout ideas. I find I can run on the trampoline without it hurting my feet which are bad since pregnancy. It is great cardio but easy on your joints and good for calf flexibility. The video is of high quality and has a good variety of workouts. I like the barre workout the best. The music is motivating and the picture is clear. If you are a mom like me you may have to adjust some moves. In general I cannot jump with both feet apart at same time, due to pelvic floor issues. At first I was worried because opening basic bounce I can't do, but found I could easily just replace with more comfortable moves and still get great workout and dance along to music in video. If you have similar issues don't get discouraged, because there are plenty of other things. If there is a move I cannot do,I just substitute running, marching, or doing sort of saba bounce and still get a great workout.
This is for beginners that are already familiar with certain moves
This can be discouraging for a true beginner. I think most of us athletes need to never forget what a true beginner is. Especially when you come with a compilation of exercises that targets beginners. A beginner could be a person that has no background in sports.Having a background as aerobic instructor, I was able to easily follow the instructor. However, for a beginner EACH step would have to be explained before asking them to bounce on it.When I first acquired my trampoline I remember my blood pressure going up by just trying to balance myself on it, leave alone focusing on correct jumping or doing choreography. If a person mastered a few basic jumps, these compilation of exercises are not difficult. My own personal favorite is Barre and Bounce.I would give this DVD a five stars if they would have put the time to break down each step they jump on. I still recommend the DVD. My own advice for true beginners is to first become familiar with the moves on the floor, then jump it on the trampoline. Secondly, don't be hard on yourself. Take one step at a time and have fun, whether you are able to bounce a minute or an entire program. Perseverance ultimately leads to excellence.
Might be OK for some who are starting off on rebounding.
My wife is the rebounder in our family. She has pain in her joints, so the low impact nature of rebounding appeals to her. Inasmuch as the title of this DVD is "Beginners Bounce", she hoped that the exercises demonstrated in the video lessons would be easier than they really are. After reviewing all five modules, she was disappointed to find out that really none of the exercises were suitable for her. Perhaps for younger people getting started in rebounding this would be a good intro, but not so much for less young people with pain in the joints.Inasmuch as this instructional DVD is offered with free returns in the ad, there wouldn't be much risk in trying it out to see if it suits you. If you are a beginning rebounder who is looking for some instruction to get you started, this may be just what you are looking for (even though it wasn't for my wife). It goes beyond the basics, too - particularly the "Combat Bound" and "Intermediate Ibiza Dance modules" which are a fairly intense workout.
Good if you have experience with cardio classes
If you have good hand/eye coordination and can follow an instructor changing movements quickly, this is great for you. I appreciated the "Basic Bounce" video they had in the beginning that explained how to position your body. Unfortunately, this did not continue. The other videos had the instructor giving only minimal instructions and changing quickly from one stance to another. In contrast, I'm used to yoga where the instructor tells you where your different body parts should be at different times. Or in strength training where they emphasize having good form. Trampolines can do damage to your knees and aggravate poor posture if you're not bouncing correctly with your spine in proper alignment--I wish they provided more instructions to ensure you're doing this correctly. Also, the video quality is a bit lower and reminds me of the 1990s. I will say though, the british accents were a plus!
Not really for beginners
This 4 workout DVD is a nice rebounding video. It has variety and different levels. I wouldn't exactly say that it was good for beginners because I think that the new beginner would definitely be discouraged with these workouts. They don't really take it slow and build up. There doesn't seem to be any moderations for actual beginners. This is produced in the UK so that might take into account the difference. One thing that would be nice is access to online videos that you could do if you didn't have access to a DVD player where your rebounder was. The only online access I could find was if you had purchased a rebounder from the company but no access for someone who only purchased a DVD.
