EPOMAKER SKYLOONG GK75 Lite Gasket-like Mount Wired Hot Swappable Programmable Keyboard with A Rotary Knob, Win/Mac Compatible (Blue Pink, Gateron Optical Yellow)

Description:

About this item:

  • 【75% Hotswap Keyboard with a Rotary Knob】Skyloong GK75 keyboard is equipped with hot swappable terminals, with which you can install optical switches directly without soldering. Being 75%, the keyboard turns the home clusters into one column of the commonly used home/delete/pgup keys, saving much space for the mouse. Adding a rotary in the end of the F row, the keyboard can fulfill changing volume by simply rotating left and right.

  • 【Innovative Shallow Gasket-Mounted & Bottom Foam】To reach a top typing experience, we have adopted a creative Shallow Gasket design, which is the first innovative Shallow Gasket structure around the world that comes with an all-in-one silicone pad. Apart from eliminating the traditional design's drawback of lacking support on the main typing area, the Shallow Gasket silicone pad can cushion the shock under every keystroke by being inserted in between the PCB board and the plate.
  • 【Gateron Optical Switches】The Gateron optical switches are 1-pin switches. Unlike the traditional mechanical switches, the optical switches are triggered by laser though the contact point. In this way, they can last longer than general mechanical switches. Without the metal pins, the Gateron optical switches can present better sounds and pro-long life span. With the keyboard of GK75, there are linear reds, yellows and blacks as well as tactile browns for choosing.
  • 【High-quality Keycaps in GK5 Profile】The GK75 ANSI keyboard adopt the PBT material for keycaps, which is proved to be sturdy and oil-proof even after long time use. By the unique GK5 profile, the keycaps can keep the typing angle ergonomic and also fit the north-facing LEDs without any interference. The ISO version comes with ABS double-shot keycaps and extra keycaps for replacement.
  • 【Programmable & Compatible with Win/Mac OS】 The GK75 keyboard is designed for compatible with both Win and Mac OS. With the software, you can create macros and remap the keys and even the knob freely. The built-in flash memory makes sure to save the setting at offline mode. No worries of losing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars good overall just some small preference problems i have

    k. · 8 October 2023

ill make some points i like and things i dislikeThings i like:- keyboard feels nice and weighted- you can adjust the height- you can customize keys- there are differnet kind of background lighting options i think 9 but you can import your own or find them on the internet which im not going to bother doing- can change out keys to other colors as they give you about 30 spare keys or so which still isnt enough to get a full coloured set of keys but thats fine as the picture doesnt advertise that anyway.- you have a wheel to control volume by going left or right or pressing it to mute- has subtle backlighting- built in wire organizer thing at the bottom of the board to run the usb c cable throughthings i dont really like myself that i think a keyboard of this price should have- the subtle back lighting isnt really bright on full brighness and the light doesnt come up and light the letter on the key so you cant really see what you type if you type at night and dont have a super bright monitor directly near it but for me its not really a problem- i dont really care for this kind of thing but it doesnt have like any color options for lighting all i can see is "white" which looks blue but maybe theres a way in the software to change this i just cant manage to find it- the software is pretty bad and confusing to use but overtime im sure youd figure it out. oh and i didnt have a piece of paper telling me where to get it so make sure to just type the keyboard bran in google and go to their website and search your keyboard and click software and drivers and download the program for windows or macif youre looking for a keyboard and you dont want to touch it for it to be a nice sounding, feeling and good build quality id recommend it 100% but if you really like rgb do not buy the type that i got which is the one that is shown in the official picture of this keyboard (the one with pink and blue ish keys) im not really sure about all the other options but yeh for my one it doesnt have like coloured lights just white but again it is blue not white as it says so there is a chance ill find out how to change it later on. its just an overall nice keyboard

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing feel

    A.C. · 10 May 2024

This keyboard is exceptional. The keystrokes are soft and have an amazing click and feel to them. The look and weight of the key oard comes across extremely elegantly and the size is just right for its build. Only down side is the back light on the keyboard could be a lot brighter and you can't really see it. I am unsure if this is a fault or not, but overall it is great value for the money. It even comes with spare keycaps in different colours so you can customise the whole colour layout!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality board

    R.W. · 12 May 2024

Build quality is great, the brown optical switches are better than I expected moving from full mechanical and the price is great for a proper entry level mechanical keyboard. If I had to nitpick a little, the plastic body can be a little creaky and the left hand side layout missing a symbol key beside the Z is a little odd, but that's not an issue for me at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value For Money

    A.C. · 15 January 2024

This keyboard is fantastic for those seeking a more high-end option without wanting to pay a large amount. Everything appears to be carefully produced and has a satisfying sound profile, better than a fair few more expensive options. However, even for someone who is reasonably tech-savvy, the software is complex to use. While tutorials are available online, Skyloong should really provide more comprehensive instructions in the manual to make the user experience more accessible for beginners. Qualms aside, the value for money is excellent.

This keyboard has not failed me and I've had it for a while now since I purchased it. The volume control is great, the sound of the keys are great - not too loud but not too quiet. The colours are beautiful - I keep getting compliments from friends and family about my keyboard. All round great keyboard!

Switches feel great, keycaps are nice. Backlight could be brighter, can’t see letters at max brightness. Software sucks. Extra keycaps + keycaps puller is a nice addition.

    Great build quality

    A Very Unique Typing Experience!

    P. · 7 September 2024

I had to pick this keyboard up because I had not tried an optical board before. The experience is definitely different. Typing is kinda like typing on a blue switch typical mechanical keyboard, but a little bit quieter and softer experience. The overall build of the board is quite excellent. I love the keycap choice and the overall feel. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to try out an optical switch board. I think I will invest in optical yellow switches in the future just to try those out. I am also a big fan of Epomaker boards as this is my third from them.

Great entry level keyboard for new enthusiasts

    J. · 17 July 2023

The media could not be loaded. The Epomaker Skyloong GK75 is my first go into the world of customizable keyboards. Since I am on a tight budget, the low price and good reviews of this keyboard made my purchase an easy one. I bought the blue and pink model with optical brown switches. What attracted me to this keyboard is its factory lubed switches, the low-profile knob, and its cute (but not too cute) colour scheme and rounded keycaps. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this to other new enthusiasts that are aiming to spend $100 and under. More detailed review below for those who need it.How it arrived:The keyboard was packaged in a pretty cardboard box with a braided USB to USB-C cable (5 ft/1.5 m), two plastic bags of extra keycaps, a keycap/switch puller, and a small guide (English/Chinese) explaining the knob functions, backlight settings, and Fn function settings, and function key settings for standard/Windows/Mac mode. The keyboard itself was well-protected in a soft plastic sleeve and a hard plastic dust cover.Setting up:Plug and play. The paper guide provides URLs for Windows and Mac drivers, though I haven't downloaded it. The Epomaker website will have info on that as well. There's a QR code on the bottom of the keyboard that I'm guessing also leads to a driver download, but I haven't tried it. The port for the USB-C is on the top left of the keyboard, and there's a nice little groove in the case for the cable to slot into so that it stays in place.Backlight:The backlight for this model is cyan only, and it isn't that bright. Those looking for bright RGB gamer lights will be disappointed, but it may actually be perfect for those that are planning to use this in work settings as it's less distracting. I took a video of the 9 different backlight modes and levels of brightness.Experience and feel:The keyboard is a delight to use. The switches are factory lubed, so while it is likely subpar for more advanced keyboard hobbyists, they're a great introduction to the lubed switch experience. I noticed some scratchiness with some of the keys (notably the backspace), and the spacebar is rattly when pressed hard and still pretty loud even when pressed lightly, but it's nothing that I would classify as a deal breaker (I'm hoping to mod the keyboard with foam to dampen the noise). The knob is about the same size as the keys, and it feels nice and snappy when pressed or turned. The keycaps (which are light pink, denim blue, and navy blue) and font are cute but not overly so, which makes the look perfect for people like me that prefer something with personality while keeping their set up on the subtle side.

    After a few months…

My first ever optical keyboard. Safe to say I‘m happy I switched. So far so good, maybe the lighting isn’t the best. Otherwise it‘s great

    Yeah baby!

    M. · 27 March 2024

It works perfectly, but if you want to use the app to change the key functions you have to keep the app open.

Good keyboard, not loud, customizable, solid

    R.P. · 12 February 2024

I've got the Gateron Black switches, for reference. I was looking for something not too loud, comfortable and compact, and it's exactly that - so far.The RGB is lackluster, settings are there but it's not customizable and not very bright. Does not go through the keys. Software support is nonexistent from the official app.Keys sound nice - I *can* pick up small irregularities with some keys if i press too hard but it's very rare. Definitely more comfortable to type on than the membrane keyboard I had before. Took a while to adjust, but I'm happy with my purchase.Came with many keycaps and keycap puller. Will probably lube the switches eventually but for the cost of it it doesn't make sense to spend another 1/5 on materials. If you have that already, give it a shot.
