Works straight out of the box. Plenty connections for hooking up to other equipment. The connections for attaching it to computer or laptop are neatly stored and permanently attached to the drive, so you don't need to looking for the cable.

I want to start by saying I've only used this drive with an M1 MacBook Air, I've not tried it on a PC or other OS.I bought it to rip my audio CD collection, and at first I had some issues with the discs not auto-mounting. I had to go into Disk Utility and manually mount the CD, then it worked fine. However after a reboot and a few hours use, it magically started working correctly, so I'm going to put that down to an issue with MacOS more than with this drive. It's something to keep in mind if you don't see your disc being mounted on the desktop though.Then build quality feels a little cheap, the drive is very light and a bit bulky thanks to the built-in USB hub. It seems like it's put together fine, it's just not a premium feeling device. Also, the hub and card reader on the back are quite slow, so not something I would use, except in an emergency.This drive has an attached cable with USB-C and USB-A connectors, which is quite convenient, especially if you just want to travel with it. No extra cables or power supplies required. However, the cable is only about 20cm at full stretch, which means it might not work well as a permanent part of a desktop setup, as it's going to have to sit right next to your computer.Those minor niggles aside, I had no other problems when using this. It read CDs, DVDs and CD-Rs just fine. I've not tried the Lightscribe functionality or writing disks yet, so I can't vouch for those features. Overall, it feels a little cheap, but it gets the job done and it's good value.

I bought this to replace one that no longer worked properly. So far I have only used it to play CD's and am quite satisfied, will probably try a DVD later. The price for a player that can do so much is very good.

Well, I purchased the silver version, ideally to match my computer. However, only the top is silver. The rest of the casing is white and the front bezel of the drive is black. Then in thick bold dark gold lettering is "DVD/CD" and a very crooked and off centre lightscribe logo.The data part of the drive is from a connected, very short USB cable in white. The usb B power cable is so short it's not worth including!The rubber feet are a pointless addition as they have no grip, so already replaced them with my own.So far the drive has performed well and is very quiet, once you put on decent rubber feet.There's some huge oversights with the design of this drive and had all the above been addressed before going on sale, it would be 5 stars------------UPDATE------------I've created 2 lightscribe labels and then trying to do a 3rd, it decided not to "play ball". It would burn around 1mm then the rest of the disc face is blank. Unfortunately you don't find out until after the full writing process is complete. The drive makes all the right noises and flashes accordingly to indicate "all is well", but only upon eject do you find it's incomplete.It still writes data to discs and reads them no problem, but the lightscribe section has unfortunately failed.I managed to contact the seller and they're very keen to help. I explained what's going on and following the explanation, they're sending out a replacement. I was very pleased to have such good customer service.Unfortunately, Bolo made it difficult to contact the seller as the AI bot keeps saying that Bolo deal with faults for this product and you get through to an agent. I kept trying to explain I want to contact the store directly, but I cannot. As usual, the Bolo CS team have no idea if it's not on their call centre script. So after 20mins of messing around, I finally was able to message the seller.Glad I did too.
