I don't notice an immediate feeling of drowsiness with this when taking it at night (as I seemed to with something like niacinamide for anxiety, which magnesium is also reported to help with due to its effects on GABA) but for the past three nights I've fallen asleep within an hour or so after only 14 to 15 hours awake. I have a horrible sleep disorder, with my average wake up time being 5 to 6pm, and I have to "reset" every so often by staying up 24+ hours just so I can go to bed in the early evening and wake up in the morning. It never lasts for very long, and that's what's happening right now. I'd been falling back into that same habit this week, falling asleep later and later and waking up at 12pm, then 1pm, then 2pm... I've since started waking up closer to midday again and I'm falling asleep by 4am rather than after 6am. This is unheard of for me.I'm not sure I'd be susceptible to placebo as I'm usually so pessimistic about trying stuff out, as nothing has ever helped. I'm just reporting my experiences lol. I read this can take up to a week to help with sleep and perhaps several more weeks to provide all relaxation benefits with muscle relaxation, anxiety and stuff. I should add I've been taking this for eleven nights now as my delivery arrived on July 2.Edit: if you're concerned about which type of magnesium to take due to some forms upsetting the stomach, glycinate is more easily tolerated in that regard too. I'm taking betaine hydrochloride for insufficient stomach acid and all the issues that come with that. Forms like magnesium citrate/oxide are worse and therefore used as laxatives as far as I can tell. Magnesium malate and lactate may be gentle too, but there doesn't seem to be as much research available on those. Magnesium glycinate is also a very good idea if you supplement with vitamin D3, so you can boost its bioavailability. Just don't forget K2 if you take D3, as it ensures you don't get calcium buildup in arteries and other bad places :) it's pretty easy to buy D3 + K2 combined so you could take that in the day, and Mg before bed.Edit 2: bad news, but possibly not for everyone. One of the reasons I tried this was for anxiety, and at first I felt a kind of groggy, indifferent calm. Earlier this week (about three weeks after taking it every night), I started feeling very ill and had panic attacks out of nowhere. I've since learned glycine can have negative effects on a small(?) number of people at it ends up promoting glutamate rather than GABA if you already have low levels of GABA. I'm not sure I understand it fully, but you can read up on NMDA agonists being "excitatory/excitotoxic". If you're buying this for similar reasons, consider discussing it with your doctor first. Most people report really positive effects, but I've had to stop taking this as I was losing my mind unfortunately 🙃

I've had these for the best part of a year now. Wanted them to help me relax at night after long days at work and they do the job. Worth a try as they will affect other differently.

I have been using this type of magnesium to help regulate sleep. It has worked wonders for a period and then it kind of stopped, which led me to believe that my sleep problems were no longer magnesium related. I have taken a break from using it but will restock soon as it is a trusted brand.

This works for me but didn't for my adult sonHaving said that I tried to inform Bolo that it had been delivered to another house.Luckily my son checked the surroundings of photo of porch and realised it was an opposite neighbour, but what has happened to the deliveries!?!

I have difficulty getting to sleep and apparently magnesium glycinate is good for it. I used a different brand before these ones but thought I'd give these a try. With the previous brand I could tell they were actually working as I consistently got to the "nodding off" stage when taking them but unfortunately didn't with these.I can't attest to the effect of these for other uses of magnesium.

I bought two bottles of these over a few months, then I switched to a different, more expensive brand thinking I would get better quality and I’m switching back to these! I’ve tried multiple magnesium brands and I thought investing in a more expensive one would improve the effects, but there was no need. These are the best ones I’ve tried. I noticed a difference in my sleep within a couple of days and felt more refreshed when waking up.
