About this item:
Looking for a chain lube that can last in extreme temperatures and not require top-up applications? Motoverde Chain Lube is a multi-purpose, penetrating chain lubricant containing PTFE. This product is a thick dewatering, non-toxic lubricant, specially developed for use on chains, gears & bearings. Originally developed for motocross bikes (but can be used on any type of bike) this thick lube is perfect for those rough tracks. Heavily durable so that nothing will stick, PTFE Chain Lube reduces friction and helps to protect chains and sprockets from accelerated wear and is suitable for lubricating cables and brake pins. Complete with easy to apply twist top PTFE Chain Lube is all you need by working in extreme temperatures ranging from -50C to 180C, simply apply overnight to allow the product to soak into your chain before riding and no top-ups will be needed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works a treat
Good quality chain lube that works a treat.I have a couple of bikes that needed some TLC and in the past I've just used 3in1 oil to do the chain. This stuff is much better for the job. It is easy to apply from the bottle and has a twist top that releases the lube precisely with a small squeeze. I ran a rag over the chain after application to take off the excess and give the chain a little clean. Everything is running much smoother now and even the gear changes seem better. I think it's a little pricey but this 125ml bottle should last me a long time.

Brilliant tube of chain love, small enough to stash under the bike seat, good bit of kit. T
4.0 out of 5 stars Works Well, But Eco Warriors Might Not Like It
Things have moved on a long way since my childhood, when bicycle chains were filthy black and oily. They ruined your trouser legs, and attracted grit and dirt, which accelerated the wearing out of your gear train. Lube has taken over, chains have become cleaner, and some folks like to believe "greener" too. This lube contains PTFE, which is the same stuff used to coat non-stick pans. It's hydrophobic for starters, and it has a very low coefficient of friction. That's good for your bicycle chain, and it gives me smooth running of my mountain bike, but depending on your green credentials it's not necessarily great for the environment.PTFE is one of the best-known and widely applied PFAS, commonly described as persistent organic pollutants or "forever chemicals". Washing this lube off your chain - as you'll need to do periodically - will spread ptfe particles around your garden, or wherever you are at the time. Only you can decide if you like the idea of that. So, I feel conflicted about this product.
