5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely happy with the product!
After several bad purchases, I finally found what I wanted. A solar panel that charges my 12/24v portable battery and/or also my smaller laptop/portable accessories' power bank. No need for controllers or inverters - all the required connectors came with the panel unit. The fact that it's compact, waterproof and does what it says on the tin is a big plus. Ideal for home, RV or boat use (amongst others) but not necessarily, in my opinion, suitable for backpack camping or treks at a weight of 4kg. Having said that, the instructions are in good English (as opposed to something put through a translation engine) but very little is required in terms of instructions as you can use it on arrival - an actual plug-and-play product. Not the cheapest but from what I've experienced, definitely value for money if you're looking for a professional and effective solar energy solution.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works well and much cheaper than branded items
Works well, comes with the cables to connect to various power stations. We connected it to our abler power station to test outside. I saw it inputting 90w in sunshine. Panel is a reasonable size, filing and has a handle. There’s a pouch on the back which is where the connections on the panel are, and it’s big enough to store cables in. The back of the panel uses some sturdy legs probably something like strong cardboard in fabric or something. If the legs were stronger material would be more sturdy. However at £70 in the sale I can’t complain compared to the cost of the branded panels.
5.0 out of 5 stars It really works! Can only recommend highly.
Been after one for ages, particularly for camping to enable the possibility of more breaks without having to pay extra for electric hook up points and to go off grid camping, and to keep the phones charged on days out, but the price was slightly prohibitive, and reviews mixed on the various panels I’d viewed. After loads of research, I took the plunge and bought this one during a special offer after keeping an eye on it for ages. So pleased I did.It is quite big, and heavier than I imagined (but light enough to comfortably carry by the sturdy handles), and this just adds to the extra feel of quality of this solar panel. All the materials feel robust and hardwearing, with a great selection of plugs on the good length (around 10 feet) charging cable, in addition to the two integrated USB charging ports ( a and c type) on the small cable box, all neatly stowed in a zipped section. It’s not made for backpacking, but it’s ideal for car camping or use in a motor home/caravan. The foldable design makes it fairly portable and easier to store for this type of usage.Received this and was really eager to try it, so the following day, I positioned it in the back garden on a hazy, blustery, slightly cloudy day with some bright sunshine in early October, at around half 11 in the morning, and plugged in my i-pad to the usb socket.I didn’t bother repositioning the solar panel at all, and after 1hour, it put 40% on the charge! I’m astounded at this charge rate given the ambient conditions and the fact I never moved the panel to follow what little sun there was. I can only imagine the effectiveness of this unit in better weather conditions in the summer. Just need to choose a suitable power station now and we’ll be set for loads of cheaper camping pitches due to the fact we won’t need to pay for electric hook up!In short, and I’ll update this review as time goes on and get more use of the panel, a really great buy, so happy with the purchase, and can recommend if you’re looking for a well made, functional solar panel.
1.0 out of 5 stars Simply does not work.
As you can see from my review, I placed the panel in direct sunlight, connected it directly to my Jackery - and received a big fat 0 watts of charge. I will amend my review if I receive any assistance from the seller.Update: Still no response from the seller after 10 days. Tested it again today as it was a perfectly clear day at 2pm, maximum sunshine. Still 0w of charge, and still 0 help from the seller.Starting to suspect the other reviews a fake - and even if I'm wrong and others have gotten lucky and received a working product - just hope it doesn't go wrong outside of the return window as the seller clearly has no interest in responding to their customers. Think it's time for me to return this piece of junk and pay the extra money to get a proper Jackery product.
