I wanted to start drinking filtered water as the tap water tasted different and even though I knew this for a while, I felt I needed I had to get a filter jug. I was originally boiling my tap water but it was very time consuming and also using electricity to boil it.This is an amazing filter jug which comes with 3 filters. It is very lightweight and very easy to clean. The filter compartment fits snug into the main jug, which appears very durable and strong.You fill the jug upto to the top and then let the water filter through to the bottoms and then keep topping up the jug until the whole jug is full of filtered water. We keep the jug at the side of the fridge, not inside, and it always tastes fresh.

We've had this brand of jug for years and love that it's an easy way to filter water, store in the fridge and keep cold. Ours gets a LOT of use and stays in good condition for a long time. We've only had to replace the main jug once in 6 years. They wash up nice and do the job of filtering water - it definitely tastes better post-filter. This one is also pretty good value for money.

Having tried other brands side by side with BRITA I can say that for cold water filtering using the latest Maxtra Pro filters no other filter subjectively compares in terms of flavour and being ready to drink on the first pour. Previous generations of the BRITA filter range would invariably require at least 3 non-drinkable carbon heavy fills which whilst are ok for watering plants is not especially great to drink. The latest generation of filters are ready to go.In terms of particles remaining in the water, I have a water "Total Dissolved Solids" tester that records a higher reading for the BRITA than for multi stage alternative filters, however in terms of an overall rating I would place BRITA higher given the water tastes more like a high end bottled water and not of carbon.I purchased tow filters ar the time, one for my own use and another for my daughter and at the time of review I felt they represented above average value for money. The additional benefit is less plastic waste - if you enjoy bottled water this is a great alternative.A couple of tips:------------------The jugs can be stored on your windowsill in direct sunlight preferably as UV will help to keep the jug sterile.If you are partly through the month cycle and are going to not use the filter for a while, you can remove it and put it into the freezer to prevent bacterial growth until the next usage.Overall I love the jug. The capacity is more than adequate for my needs, and the filters overall provide the best flavour of any others I have used.

We purchased this Brita after moving to a house which still had lead piping connecting the water supply so wanted to invest in a Brita for extra peace of mind.We weren't disappointed, its a handy item which produces great tasting water & we wont look back. It's a sleek design, nicer in the black than the white which fits perfectly in our fridge door alongside a 4 pint carton of milk.Great price starter kit with the cartridge's lasting around a month & replacements on Bolo being approx £21/£22 for a pack of 6.Would recommend to anyone!

Living in the east of England we have very hard water. Since using this water tastes brilliant, and using it in our induction kettle we’ve noticed a lot less limescale. Good value with the extra filters included in the box. Fits nicely in fridge door.

This is the best water filter jug I've ever owned and it looks great in blackWe had the white one before this, but it didn't look so goodAnd now this comes with 3 of the updated filters, the water quality tastes even betterThese still work perfectly fine with the Maxtra+ cartridges, as we had a few left over to use from the last jugEasy to clean, just wipe it over and it has zero limescaleThe capacity is a little lower than I would like, but that's made up by the fact it fits perfectly in the fridge door. Great for those hot days!
Really makes a difference
I have written the same in the review of spare filters: it really works. Water simply tastes better. I originally bought it to use with a humidifier, but instead I drink the water. Tap water turns into… I never actually tried Evian, but it just turns into very nice water. The difference is minor, but just right, it doesn’t taste like tap water anymore.The meter on top is actually misleading, because it’s a timer. I don’t replace the filters when it tells me to, but on the first day of the month, or later if I haven’t actually been at home, haven’t used the filter, and it says I have totally overused it and it must be replaced immediately. Which is not unlike printers do with toner. I just reset it (hold the button for a few seconds, done).Well, this was a very eloquent way of saying I would buy it again, but so far don’t need to – the quality is good, it’s sturdy, and I’m going to grab a glass of water.

Super Wasserfilter!
Die Kanne sieht gut aus und macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Das einsetzen/wechseln des Filters ist unkompliziert und schnell gemacht. Der Geschmack des Leitungswassers ist nach der Filterung deutlich besser und von Mineralwasser eigentlich nicht mehr zu unterscheiden. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Va lavata prima di usarla e il filtro va inserito bene
Ho potuto valutare che il sapore dell'acqua potabile, una volta filtrata da questa Brita, risulta privo di quel retrogusto di cloro e di medicinale che normalmente si percepisce nella mia zona. Dovrebbe filtrare anche i pericolosi metalli pesanti come piombo e rame e altre sostanze nocive. Se si usa l'acqua filtrata per fare il Thè o il Caffè il gusto di questi ultimi ne risulta decisamente migliorato. Niente più carichi di pesanti bottiglie di plastica...
