5.0 out of 5 stars This Mug Has Transformed My Very Being
To say that I am delighted with this item is rather like saying the sun is a bit warm; it doesn't quite do it justice. Its shape is nothing short of classical elegance: a near-perfect cylinder, slightly wider at the top than at the base, with thick, smooth walls. It’s worth noting that said walls are confined to the sides and bottom of the cylinder, while the top is wonderfully open. This ingenious design feature grants access to the hollow interior, which can accommodate all manner of substances. After extensive testing, I can confidently assert that it performs exceptionally well with liquids—everything from the purest Icelandic glacier water to the most exquisite extra virgin olive oil. Straight out of the box, it comes filled with air, which is always a nice thing to have. The chromatic brilliance of this mug is also something to behold. I opted for the “Cerise” model, which boasts a lustrous gradient from ripe cherry to Royal Mail postbox red. Truly, it’s a versatile and evocative hue, pleasing to the eye in all seasons: in winter, it warms the soul just to gaze upon it, like a tiny hearth on your worktop; yet it’s equally capable of evoking memories of a spring meadow carpeted with poppies, the leafy attire of an autumnal forest, or the crimson lips of a summer love never quite forgotten. The interior, a pale cream, accentuates the intensity of this red, much like the skin of an apple seems to become more vivid when you slice into it. It’s the perfect tone to highlight both the exterior colour of the mug and its contents, steering clear of the usual white or more vibrant hues that would obscure the subtle nuances of the liquid within. The low porosity of the interior is another boon, ensuring that the dreaded brownish patina doesn’t form after your first cup of tea.The transition from the exterior red to the cream interior is seamless and smooth along the entire rim of the mug, which has just the right thickness to fit snugly between your lips, as though it were crafted to be tenderly embraced by them in the most natural manner. In short, just one look at this mug compels you to pick it up and take a sip. To facilitate this task, the cylinder offers an asymmetrical handle on the side, extending further from the body at the top (2.6 mm) than at the bottom (1.6 mm); in my case, the perfect space to fit two fingers, or perhaps just one, with the ring finger resting comfortably against the outer face of the handle’s lower end. Regardless of the number of digits employed, once they’re in position, lifting the mug is a piece of cake. Which brings us to the most noteworthy feature of this piece: the weight. Oh, what a delightful feeling! Though the mug is light enough, gravity seems to act upon it in a special, more solemn and contemplative manner. The final sensation is that it isn’t you who holds the mug, but the mug that holds you; and, in doing so, it bears the burden of all your doubts, your disquiet, and your shattered dreams. Thus, when I reach out my hand for it to take it up, I feel capable of saying anything to anyone while looking them straight in the eye. And when I set it down again on the table before my interlocutor, a solid, deep, and conclusive sound declares on my behalf: “He has spoken.”By the way, since we’re talking about the base of the mug… On the aforementioned cherry-red bottom, the following text is inscribed: “LE CREUSET®.” Curiously, there’s no sign of the usual “Made in...” (which, incidentally, wouldn’t say “France,” but rather “Thailand”).In conclusion, I could go on and on about this triumph of ceramic artistry and engineering, but my kettle is starting to whistle, calling me to pour another cup of tea with overflowing conviction, before sauntering around the office and pitying my colleagues for their hideous birthday mugs with supposedly witty phrases.Thank you, Le Creuset, for teaching me to live boldly. I no longer care whether the mug is half full or half empty, so long as it’s this mug.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the Expresso connoisseur
As a big Expresso fan I’m lucky to have a selection of cups to choose from, Le Creuset Expresso cup is my preferred cup as it is very comfortable to hold (100ml) and retains the essiential heat that little bit longer . Of course it comes in many variable colours , the only set back is that later produced do not have that Frabric en France 🇫🇷 stamp
