I wanted to give retinol a try after reading about the many benefits it provides; I chose this particular retinol on account of the great price and the lower dosage. From what I’d read it takes a couple of months before any noticeable change is seen in the appearance of one’s skin; so I’ve waited until now to write a review.The product comes in a glass bottle, with a pipet to help meter out the serum. The consistency of the product is that of a light oil; which absorbs nicely into the skin. I started by applying 4 drops to the skin on my face before bed every other day; I then followed it up with a moisturiser containing hyaluronic acid. I opted for a hyaluronic acid based moisturiser as it pairs well with retinol serums, which can cause dry skin during early usage. In the mornings and evenings that I didn’t use retinol, I moisturised as normal with E45 and an SPF moisturiser.During the first couple of weeks using this retinol, I did find that my skin was more dry than usual. To aid this I moisturised morning, evening and as I felt necessary throughout the day. After a few weeks, my skin adjusted to the new addition to my skincare routine and I began to moisturise morning and evening, which I have continued for two months.I can firmly say that I have seen an improvement in the appearance of my skin, albeit it is only minor. I expected this, as retinol is said to be a product whose benefits really shine with frequent, long term usage. My skin seems to have less blemishes, is much smoother and I have noticed a reduction in the number of pimples and black heads I have had (albeit I don't and have never particularly struggled with pimples).Overall, for the £9 I spent on this product nearly 3 months ago, I would say that the benefits have been worthwhile. I will continue to integrate it into my skincare routine over the long term and will consider increasing my usage to each night. I’d definitely recommend it!

I went for this a) for the price and b) because it claimed to be non greasy. WRONG!! I applied one drop to each cheek and two to my neck and jaw and smoothed it all in. It absorbed a tiny bit but despite only using a small amount it sat like a greasy film on my skin. I could feel it on my neck every time I moved.The smell was faintly fishy. I'm not sure if it's supposed to smell like that but it's not pleasant. I do believe it has retinol in as I reacted under my eyes and had an almost sunburnt effect the day after usingReally not a fan as it really is so horribly greasy. I couldn't possibly wear makeup over it that's for sure.I think next time I'll spend the extra for a better product

I bought this and liked it, so when it was finished I ordered another bottle. Unfortunately the second bottle has a distinctly fishy smell which is not very pleasant. I don’t know if this one is off or not but unfortunately I don’t have the option to request a replacement. If the supplier could contact me with an explanation I would be happy to give it the 5 stars.I have given this three stars. I would’ve given it five after the first bottle and one after this second bottle, which averages at three.

The product itself is very nice! However the bottle it came in broke on the top (as you can see in the pics) and just once I had a couple of drops fall outside the bottle and that was enough for the letters to smudge and fade... But as I said, the retinol is very nice!

I started using this retinol product two weeks ago, and although it agreed with my skin, and was a good price, was difficult to use, owing to the application squeezer, or when tipping up bottle and use with my hands, it drips and make everything feel oily. Prefer a cream or lotion.
Only type of retinol my skin will tolerate
I have extremely sensitive skin, and have had an allergic reaction to most retinoids and other types of retinol. For whatever reason the only two my skin will tolerate is this 1% by Revolution skincare and the 1% in squalane by The Oridnary. (That said, The Ordinary didn't show me results the way this one has.)Everyone really needs to take caution though, and work your way up to the higher amounts AND to give it time. I've found most skincare like this needs at least one bottle to show any results, and even then whatever else you might be doing to your skin may make it take even longer. Be patient!
Mieux que son concurrent the Ordinary
J'ai utilisé pendant 1 an le rétinol 1% de The Ordinary, celui là me semble plus puissant j'aime beaucoup l'appliquer. Attention le pourcentage est élevé si vous n'êtes pas habitués au rétinol vous allez vous brûler. Il faut une adaptation progressive.Bien qu'habituée je dois néanmoins ne pas l'appliquer autour de yeux ou la peau est plus fine.

Korkarak almıştım ama yüzüm çok sevdi. Bir kere kullanımda bile gözle görülür fark sağlıyor. Çok minik bir miktar yeterli oluyor, zaten bol bol sürmemek gerekiyor. Araştırıp öyle kullanmanızı öneririm.
No effect
I've been using this for weeks and I'm starting to think that it's just cooking oil or something. I know retinol and there's not 1 % retinol in this.
I love this retinol.
I love this product! It's my favorite part of my face routine. I use it in conjunction with 2 serums and top with my favorite moisturizer to seal it in. I have tried 2 other retinals but I didn't feel like they were as good. Thankful that I was able to find it here!
