I ordered this for my 7 year old son to use on our holiday to Scotland - Being Mr independent, he wanted to carry his own things. Fine by me - Saves my back!This bag is just the right size and doesn't look huge on him like other backpacks do. It has one main compartment which is a big open space, and then the front pocket with the orange zip which is deceptively large - In a good way. It has two side pockets but these are just open ones, no zips or buttons, and would be large enough to carry a water bottle though I'm not sure how secure it would be.The handles are nicely padded and my son says it's comfortable. It really does hold quite a bit considering its size. It can fit in several A4 books so I can see this working for school as well. I cannot comment on whether or not it's fully waterproof as we never got caught out in any heavy rain while in Scotland (a miracle in itself) but it is water resistant to a degree, so can withstand the odd light shower.Overall it's a great backpack for a child and I'd recommend it.

Bought for school items, so in use daily since September. Lasting well and still in great condition, usually end up buying a new bag so far through the year but this one will still be fine for next year aswell at this rate. Very good quality and a lot of room inside.

It's a good, basic little bag and a good price. It looks nice enough and is actually a lot bigger than I'd expected. I just bought this as a school bag for my 5 year old son, we're only 2 days into school so I can't comment on the durability but so far so good. The straps are adjustable but don't really stay in the position you put them. It's my only criticism. He's only 5 and the bag is quite big so it hangs down quite a bit because the straps don't stay tight.

What a great backpack. Five year old grandson loved it and I think it will certainly last into his teens. It has a very generous outside pocket to hold drink and snacks plus a very large inside to hold all those things boys want to take out for the day or on holiday. Will certainly highly recommend this item.
