I held back on writing a review for this for a good three months because my very initial impressions weren't great. I expected to be blown away by this stock, and initially I wasn't.It's only been since I started to incorporate it into more and more of my cooking that I've been able to appreciate the flavour when compared to the bog standard vegetable stock cubes I usually use.It really does produce a better flavour. Most vegetable stock cubes seem to be overwhelming in either their herbiness or their celery flavours. This stock is just so well balanced and it adds a great depth to dishes.I really can't tell you whether it really does taste beefy because I haven't eaten beef for nearly thirty years - and I don't think I'd be too keen on this stock if it had some kind of (to me) alien meaty flavour. But I can tell you that it does take my cooking to a higher level. Seitan tastes amazing with a spoon of this added into the recipe. It 'tasties up' stir fry amazingly well. And adds a lovely dimension to chilli and other dishes.A small tub does go a long way, so even though it seems expensive, I've used it an awful lot and I yet still have a little bit left. It's probably time to reorder now though, which means I really do like it!I'm contemplating trying the 'chicken' flavour now.

If you're following a FODMAP restricted diet due to onion and garlic intolerance - then this is the stock for you! We've been using this for years now and it has a great taste and makes a good substitute. Also handy that you can buy it in bulk like this.

So if you are same as me and have sensitive stomach, IBS or anything similar do not buy it!!Diarrhea, heartburn and problems is guaranteed!Apart from that taste is great and would fit nicely for making soups!

I bulk bought some dry TVP (vegan) mince against Brexit shortages of the frozen Quorn-type stuff from the supermarkets. When the shortages hit, I was disappointed to find that the dry TVP had next to no flavour at all. I tried everything to give it a bit of a kick, but it remained resolutely dull. This was my final throw of the dice to try to perk it up. Two heaped teaspoons of this and the TVP mince is suddenly delightful - tasty, moreish, unami-laden. It's great. I've also added it to real minced beef (my husband is a meat eater) and he says it similarly really lifts a meal.

Quite expensive, I thought it would taste like meat, my partner isn't veggie, hoped I could make him more of my meals, it just taste like other stock to me, it is concentrated tho so will last

When buying this I was a little apprehensive as I thought it seemed a little pricy for the quantity, I was SO wrong! This has lasted me months of somewhat regular use. You only need a little bit per dish (for 1-2 servings) as this stuff packs a super flavourful punch. Very versatile. Great value.This product would be better if it had a temporary peel off metal lid or aluminium lid and a plastic lid to use after opening for freshness, the metal lid on mine has now rusted around the rim.
Falschen Geschmack geliefert
Ich habe das Produkt in 2020 gekauft, auf der Suche nach einer veganen Alternative zu Hühnerbrühe, und war mit dem Geschmack sehr zufrieden. Der Geschmack ist geringfügig weniger intensiv als Echthühnerbrühe guter Qualität, aber ansonsten täuschend echt. Die Dose hat einen Verschluss wie Farbgebinde und lässt sich deshalb nur mit einem Schraubenzieher o.Ä. öffnen. Das ist etwas unpraktisch.Was geht in der Firma Massel vor? Als ich das Produkt neulich (im Frühjahr 2024) wieder bestellen wollte, bekam ich statt Hühnergeschmack Gemüsegeschmack geliefert, merkte es aber erst, als ich die Dose öffnete. Vegane Gemüsebrühe kann ich auch billiger und kurzgereister bei deutschen Produzenten erwerben. Nun, im Mai 2024, steht bei beiden Geschmacksvarianten, dass sie zur Zeit in kleinen Dosen nicht lieferbar sind. Bei der Weitersuche auf Bolo fand ich das Produkt noch im Eimer / Restaurantgrösse lieferbar, laut Rezensent hat aber die Qualität stark nachgelassen. Zusätzlich fand ich Brühwürfel chicken style von Massel und werde vielleicht diese ausprobieren. Brühwürfel sind natürlich weniger kundenfreundlich, was individuelle Dosierungsmöglichkeiten betrifft (man muss also an den Würfeln herumschnitzen). Es wäre zu hoffen, dass bald auch deutsche Produzenten willig und in der Lage sind, eine vegane Brühe mit Hühnergeschmack in Pulverform in guter Geschmacksqualität auf den Markt zu bringen.

Está riquísimo y le da un toque genial a las sopas. Rinde más de lo que parece, pero no sé si tanto como dicen en la lata.
