5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable and Dependable. Firmware Updates?
The **Ediloca 1TB SSD** is a solid option for anyone seeking reliable storage at an affordable price. This 2.5" SATA SSD offers excellent performance, rivaling even more well-known brands like Samsung. In terms of speed, it delivers on par with my Samsung SSDs, handling large files, quick boot-ups, and fast load times without any issues. It's a great choice for both gamers and professionals needing a dependable internal drive for everyday use.The build quality is robust, with a well-constructed, durable design that speaks to its longevity. Ediloca is establishing itself as a trusted brand in the storage market, and this SSD lives up to that reputation. The drive slots easily into most systems, and once installed, it performs flawlessly. There’s no noticeable compromise in reliability or speed, making it a great value-for-money option. The only downside I've encountered is the lack of firmware updates. While this hasn't impacted performance so far, the absence of updates may be a concern for those who want to ensure their SSD stays optimised over time. Despite this minor issue, the Ediloca 1TB SSD remains a reliable, high-performing storage solution that's well worth considering.

5.0 out of 5 stars 128GB SSD Review
Bought these low capacity SSD’s to use as bootable macOS installers. They will be replacing USB memory sticks. Just perfect for the job. This is now my second purchase of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gives added storage
I'm using this in an external base with a Mac mini, and I've not had any issues. The drive was recognised, formatted without any issues and is quite quick.I run a vm on it and it is quick but that also depends on your connection speed.Good price for the drive and size of storage.

Ediloca 512 GB SATA SSD
Jump to the 5th paragraph for the specs. After having a bad experience with a couple of off brand QLC drives (see my other review if you want more details of the bad "L" SSDs) I decided to give this Ediloca TLC drive a chance as I figured a lower end TLC based drive would be better than QLC.I usually use higher end drives like Samsung and WD, but I wanted a cheap drive to put in an external case for my PS5 so I could move my PS4 games to it. Note: PS4 games play quite well from an external drive on the PS5.Now for my tests. I have attached various screen shots to show how this SSD performs via USB3 (an internal SATA would probably be a little faster). The one thing that I learned from my prior SSDs is that a benchmark doesn't completely show a drive's performance and sometimes is a complete lie! This is why I've included actual file reads and writes along with software that will write and read to the whole drive. The first 5 pictures show the drive stats along with a benchmark and file copy speed when it was newly out of the its box.The last two (one is a zoom into the graph) shows the performance after about two weeks (54 hours) of use on the PS5. This was done as the read performance can degrade over time and even though it dropped to about half speed (234MB/s) at one point, it was still much better than the low two digit speeds I got from my last QLC drives.Stats:Benchmarkh 453MB/s read, 455 write MB/sCopy in Win10 to 2nd SSD: 419MB/s read, 293 MB/s write. After using ~ 2 weeks: Read 409 MB/s- 234 MB/sNote: Since I had data on the SSD I did not write for the second test. Conclusion: I think for a less expensive non-mainstream SSD that this Ediloca 512GB drive is a good fit for upgrading an older PC as it will still be much quicker than the highest end mechanical (spinning rust) hard drive.Note: SSD memory a very basic descriptionSLC (single cell): Oldest, quickest, most reliable.MLC (2 bits / cell): Holds twice as much, slower.TLC (3 bits / cell): Holds 3× SLC, even slower.QLC (4 bits / cell): Holds 4× SLC, newest, very slow. (The newer memory wears out quicker as well)I hope you find this review helpful, if so please mark it as helpful. I will update this if anything changes.
