5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely quality item - looks great in my main bathroom
Lovely quality item which looks great in my bathroom... so much so that I have ordered another for my en-suite bathroom. The soap dispenser is easy to fill, use and charge. It comes with a trendy little charger which simply clips on to the soap dispenser quickly and easily via a magnet. Wish all chargers were the same TBH - would make life simpler. My only bug bear is the cost. It seems a little costly for a soap dispenser, but I guess you get what you pay for and this item is quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fit for purpose
It is a good size and the sleek design suits a modern aesthetic. Out of the box it had some charge, but I decided to give it a good charge anyway. The usb charger magnetically connects to the port on the back of soap dispenser. The blue power light pulses whilst charging and stops pulsing, staying blue once fully charged. Once the charger is disconnected the light goes out. The button is easy to reach when you need to wash the dispenser and turn the sensor off.The soap dispenser came with a sachet of lavender soap, but due to sensitive skin, my Baylis & Harding liquid soap works well with this dispenser. To fill it, just pull the easily removed lid off the top and pour the hand wash down the built in funnel. Once full, the only way to view the soap level is to look down the funnel. I personally think a level window would spoil the look of this design. There are two dispensing settings depending on how close you put your hands near to the sensor. I’m happy with it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but good.
These look great and work well. They are easy to charge and keep on working for ages between charges. I have two, one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom and living alone, I find they go for about three months or so between charges. They are easy to keep clean as you can run the entire thing under the tap. I find that I power them off, fill them and then wash the thing and pat it dry before re-positioning it and turning it on.The reason i gave 4/5 is that there are a couple of design issues that are a bit annoying. They don't detract from the way the device performs, which is nigh on perfect, but they do make 'maintenance' a little more tricky. Firstly, there's no way of seeing how much liquid is left in the reservoir. I imagine that the design didn't allow for this as it would break up the simple, clean lines, by putting in a viewing window, but from a practical point of view it's a bit annoying. There's no indicator light that goes on if it gets low in soap, so you just wait until it doesn't dispense, or you sort of peer down the filling shaft. It's not the end of the world though, assuming you always keep some soap in the cupboard and don't wait for it to run out before buying more.Secondly, I used the sample of Simplehuman soap that came with it. It was nice enough, but pricey and I have my own favourite soaps, so i didn't buy any more of theirs. I found that all but the thickest of the soaps I use dispense well and pretty much everything sold as 'liquid' soap should work well in this pump. The filling process takes a bit longer as, because this has no parts to unscrew, you pull the lid off and pour the soap through a funnel type thing in the main body. I find you have to pour, wait, pour, wait, pour a few times as the opening the soap goes down though is quite narrow, so you have to wait for bubbles to surface to let more soap in. Not really that much of an issue. This thing does not tend to drip once you dispense, which is nice. my old 'cheapy' automatic dispenser used to do that a lot - they even supplied a tray to catch them. I kept those trays and out them under the nozzle of this and they rarely have anything in them. I do find that occasionally this will dispense if the wind blows my blind around. I take this thing off the shelf and out it nearer the sink if that happens, but that's not a design fault! The manual says that the amount dispensed will vary depending on how close to the nozzle you put your hand. lower = more, higher = less. I find I go for the 'low' option and often two 'doses' is the right amount for me. You need to have your hand close to the body of the unit to trigger the dispense, which is good as it means it isn't constantly going off when things are moved about in front of it generally.Overall, happy. Would be happier if those two little niggling design issues were solved, but to my mind this is a beautifully made unit and in-use, performs excellently.December 2022...still going strong and looking as good as they did on day one. During the pandemic I bought a third and it has been working perfectly as a sanitiser dispenser that I keep near the front door, so I can sanitise my hands as I leave and return, hopefully keeping the germs at bay.
5.0 out of 5 stars Simplehuman hand dispenser simply the best
I have owned the original hand dispensers and this is by far the best yet. Easy to charge, refill and keep clean. Looks smart and sophisticated whether in bathroom or kitchen.Even though there are third party replicas, nothing comes as close to Simplehuman’s design.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product but just a bit too expensive.
I've tried a couple of hands-free dispensers before this, both Bolo and from China. They say you get what you pay for and that was true of those two as they both died before they should have done. So I decided to buy a brand name and the Simple Human came out best of those I looked at. It deserves the 5 stars for use, sturdiness and easy to clean but the price was more than I wanted to pay..........but I'm glad I did.
1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality - stopped working after 2 months
The soap dispenser looks very nice and minimalistic, but that is where the good points end. Here are some negative points from my short-lived experience of the product:1) The "Polished Stainless Steel" version is a fingerprint magnet and very easily begins to look dirty, even with being careful not to splash it or move it with skin contact. I feel I spent more time cleaning the dispenser than actually using it.2) The soap reservoir in the dispenser is small, 266ml, which is more annoying than I envisaged when purchasing (see third point). I often reverted back to using regular pump soap dispensers just for the ease of use.3) It takes too long to load the soap into the dispenser. Due to the way it's designed, the soap filters through a smaller hole and you can only pour a small amount at a time and then wait for it to sink into the reservoir, which is slow. Feels like you've emptied 20 litres of soap by the time you get the full 266ml in...4) It stopped charging/responding after just 2 months of light usage. There are other negatives to the product, but the ultimate negative is that it stopped working after 2 months. It doesn't charge or respond anymore. I'm disappointed as the product looks nice, however, I would advise not buying it, it's too expensive for not lasting long at all.
5.0 out of 5 stars Looks and works great! So easy to uze
Quite a treat for myself, but this looks and works great! Love the rechargeable battery and how easy it is to use. Just move your hand lower down to get more soak and higher to get less, means you don’t ever have to press a button to change the amount of soap that you need! I love this
sehr praktisch
berührungsfrei waschen die Hände in der Gästetoilette. Funktioniert perfekt.
