5.0 out of 5 stars Made a lovely
Our Grandson was overjoyed with this gift. Our Daughter has just come out of the hospital and he made a lovely bouquet with this product. On receiving it she cried.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great to build, better if it worked!
My students loved building this kit, unfortunately the solar panels and LED lights didn’t work in 3 out of 5 bought. We checked to see if they worked by connecting them with a battery pack, but no.I’ll still probably buy them in the future for other student, I’ll just have to be creative with the parts.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun science kit
At time KF review this is priced at £8.00 which I think is a pretty decent price especially for some of the things found inside like a solar panel. It’s not too difficult to use, but it does help having a parent on hand to join in.It was fun going through the experiments and it kept me and my 10 year old occupied for a few hours.I did find the (as long as assembled properly) everything performed as expected. The instructions aren’t hard to follow though.Great way to have some fun and learn at the same time.
1.0 out of 5 stars Guff
Really poor product. The turbine is rubbish, the solar PV barely registers a mV.
3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea but flimsy!
I bought this to build with my five year old. For demonstration purposes this is a great idea and the take away is good. However, this is flimsily constructed and won't last once put together. The glue doesn't work well, we used a glue stick. The windmill will fall apart if you don't tape it together. Given that this was just a couple of pounds it was okay value wise.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good fun bit of science
Certainly a bit of a different craft activity. Bring able to use the solar panel and, eventually, the banana bio gas was interesting and rewarding. A good conversation point with 5-8 year old. Need a bit of Sun obviously to get the full benefit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Another trusted Galt toy
I tend to get one or two of these galt pocket money toys per month for our grandchildren, to try and develop their interest in anything other than video games.I knew as soon as I saw this one that our ( nearly) 6 year old grandson would love this. Science and Nature are his loves and two favourite words are 'How' and 'Why'.Like a lot of the galt toys there's a small list of ingredients you need to provide. I've taken a picture of the list with this review. Most of them are basic household items you'd have around the home. Although I did have to borrow my daughters hairdryer as I no longer bother with one.My husband did have to help our grandson but very little help was needed, one thing I must point out is if you have a younger child please ensure they don't try and interfere as there are some parts that are dangerous to younger ones. The only trouble we had was his 3 year old brother stealing the balloon and banana but luckily they could easily be replaced. This is yet another great galt toy, that costs very little, yet provides a lot.I'm off to get some for some more as we have a few friends children with birthdays coming up and they'd love them. Highly recommended.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great fun
A nice kit which is fun to do. The instructions and booklet which includes information on green energy and the climate are really well produced and you can tell a lot of effort has gone into writing it.The kit itself is easy to construct. I did it with my 5 year old daughter who is slightly under the recommended age. She could have probably done it herself but some of the glueing parts are quite intricate. The logic of it is a little odd though. A solar panel providing power for a windmill doesn't make a great deal of sense, but it at least is a good visual to see how the solar panel works. Also the light bulb inside the house is way too dim, especially given that you need sunlight to power it, it then can't be seen as it's too bright.Unfortunately my daughter popped the balloon before I realised so we weren't able to do the banana biogas experiment, but we shall do it at a later date.My daughter liked it that much that she took it to school for her 'show and tell' and got a round of a applause from her classmates :-)
