    Quite cheaply made. But If you’re just starting out soldering, this is a fantastic low investment kit to see if you like it.PROS:- Has everything you need for starting out learning to solder.- Looks pretty cool on the desk.- Having multiple soldering tips to choose from is a nice touch.- Heats up pretty quickly, it’s ready to use in about 1 minute.- The actual soldering iron is as good as any iron you’ll get for about £40, so to have it bundled with everything else is actually a great deal.NEUTRAL:- Why does it come with a screw driver? At first I thought it was to screw the solder holder in but it’s not.- Only things it’s missing are: freeze spray plus a crocodile clip for transistors, some kind of vice to hold components, a magnifying glass, and a light.CONS:- Basically no instructions, just a vague paper with specs on it in various languages. If you’re targeting beginners you 100% need high quality instructions (for example to wet the blue part, or even how to solder).- It’s pretending to be high quality but actually is very cheaply made.- The solder sucker is so very cheap, never seen one so flimsy. It will fall apart in your hands if you hold it wrong. It works fine but it’s probably worth £1- Given that that it’s an “all in one” unit, it would have been nice if it came with a way to store all the stuff it comes with.- Why is the soldering iron holder made of plastic? You can melt it unless you put it back in very carefully. Even the cheapest soldering iron stands are made of a metal coil- The temperature gauge is not accurate. It claimed to be at 400 degrees, while still unable to evaporate the water.- Why is the solder spool a separate unit? It would have made so much more sense to mount it on top of the box on the left.- The spindle for the solder spool is held by gravity so unless you pull it very slowly, it’s going to fall out.

    The media could not be loaded. This is great for my hobby electronics. The base station is made of a sturdy plastic construction and has an ergonomic layout which incorporates the soldering iron, its holder, tip cleaner and storage rack for the other soldering tips that are supplied. The base station is fitted with a UK spec plug and has an on/off switch. The temperature at the tip is controlled by a dial switch and can be set between 180°C and 480°C. There is an LED display which shows the selected temperature and shows when the iron is up to that temperature. I'm particulary impressed by how quickly it warms up to the set temperature. The base station shuts down after around 12 minutes, meaning you don't have to worry if you forget to turn it off. Also included, is a metal rack for holding a reel of solder (supplied). This can either stand alone, or conveniently attached to the main base unit.Also in the box is a selection of five soldering tips, a desoldering tool, a pair of pointed tweezers and a double ended screwdriver.Changing the tips is just a case of unscrewing the soldering iron head and placing the desired tip in. The tips do wear out, but are a standard size and replacements are available from many different suppliers.

    The media could not be loaded. This isn’t my first Soldering Iron that I’ve owned, but it’s my first 100 Watt one that you can Adjust the Temperature from anything between 180 - 480 Degrees Centigrade and has a Clear LED Display that shows the Temperature. It Heats Up Super Fast and can reach 480 Degrees Centigrade in just 30 seconds! - That’s Mega Quick compared to my old one which would take about 4 minutes and not even reach a Temperature that high. The Kit comes with everything you need and for Extra Peace of Mind, it’s even backed by a 2 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty! Price wise, there’s currently a 20% off voucher in the advert which brings the initial price of £59.99 down to just under £48, so overall I think it’s priced about right. Personally, I’d be Over the Moon with this as a Gift, especially as you never know when you’re going to need one? There are cheaper ones out there, but you often get what you pay for, so just buy a Good one like this in the first place! Very Happy with it. Thank you.

The station feels well put together and heats up quickly. Temperature adjustment is precise and the station stayed within +/- 1deg C throughout the 20 mins of soldering. The detachable solder reel holder is handy too.Value for moneyAt £60, I think this is a fair price for a product that I think competes with the higher priced models.
