A great mix of researched information and suggested actions/attitudes to take in moving forward and ageing positively. The lived experience of the author is evident throughout the book. The book is encouraging and uplifting in equal measure and gives a refreshing perspective on growing older in a more holistically healthy way. Highly recommended reading.

The author found a new lease of life post breakup and post cancer... post cancer for me, I see, I saw everything as increasing risks! The book is written in an easy to ready, personable style which makes it easy to understand, digest and reflect on.

Like so many other women in their midlife I was in crisis and I was seeking some answers. Trying to grab hold of anything and anyone that could rescue me. I am going through a divorce and needed others to acknowledge the deep pain I was in. This book did not disappoint. As you read this book you begin to realise the answers you seek are not external, but within. You just need a little help to reflect, think differently and start to change your thoughts. This book will help you do this. The author provides lots of hope, encouragement and empathy as she shares her own brush with death. Her writing is backed up with scientific research which reassures you that these simple ideas have been proved to work. It is a book that helps you focus on self-love and care, something we all need to do better at. It gives lots of examples of how to do this. Changing your thoughts about your situation, no matter how difficult, will change your feelings. As the author points out you can become viable again. So whatever is going on in your life, this book is a must have read to help you value your self, love yourself and brings hope. Take back control and use these practical tips to change your life. Highly recommended.

This is nice straightforward read that gives well researched practical advice for successful aging. I could have used this information even in my 40s. The information is clear and concise and the writers tone is conversational. It makes you feel optimistic and overjoyed to enter the next phase of life

Well researched, written and insightful. A pleasure to read with lots of good ideas, suggestions and words of wisdom. I would definitely recommend Janine’s book. A great tool to use and a reminder to embrace the future and older years and to live our best life.
Encouragement for Living Your Best Life After 50!
Janine Hunka escaped an unsatisfying relationship and at a time in her life when things should have gotten easier, her life was forever changed by colon cancer. In this well-written exploration of what it takes to succeed in life after 50, many issues are discussed like how to learn to live without regrets. Our life's mistakes and recoveries have made us into the strong women that we've become.Some of the ideas in this book can be implemented, like writing in a gratitude journal and considering a life review as therapy. There is a lot of information on how to think more positively about aging and to be more compassionate to yourself and others.Basically this is a feel-good book about your next life stage and how to increase your enjoyment. The two things I'm finding are helping me stay stronger and feeling more youthful are putting collagen powder in my tea/coffee every morning and eating protein bars with pea protein in them. This author is also right about medicinal mushrooms helping cognitive function as we age, just read a book on the subject to know if anything will not go with your prescription medications. I am not a doctor, nor is this review medical advice. I just know how I feel!I also only recommend non-religious yoga and meditation for health. At my age I don't need to be changing religions and am more interested in a sense of spirituality and being in love with God!I remember when I used to tell people I thought life was all downhill after 45! I guess I felt that way in my late forties but now in my 50s things are changing and I really like myself a lot more, I'm making better decisions and I have new challenges to meet with wisdom and compassion. Medicinal mushrooms, collagen and pea protein have made my life better and I'm thinking more positively about aging now.This book has encouraged me to keep trying new things and to realize I'm only as old as I think I am! I'm also a fan of stretching - that takes away my bodily pains at this age! I'm moving from a more sedentary lifestyle to more exercise and even got myself a trampoline with a handle to hold on to!!!!Please consult with your doctor and nurse about any life changes or supplements. I try to read a whole book on each supplement I decide to take because at my age I'm on other prescription medications and I don't want any problems - even herbs can be pretty powerful!~The Rebecca Review
Quick, Positive, and Helpful Read
This book is a quick read. The author’s tone is warm and positive. She includes helpful, practical advice and tips for taking action. I was most helped by her insights on forgiveness, and dealing with remorse and regret. I especially appreciate her advice to start now! It’s not too late to have a beautiful life.

A great, easy to read, common sense and doable approach to aide us mature women to live our best lives! Lots of excellent reminders to make the necessary steps to add better quality years to our lives. Fantastic read Janine.
Empowering, Informative, and Inspiring
I read "Successful Aging for Women Over 50" and I must say, I am blown away by the amount of practical advice and tips that it contains. Janine does an excellent job of laying out a roadmap for women over 50.What I particularly appreciate about this book is that it spoke to me about forgiving my younger self, learning mindfulness techniques, how to eat healthier, becoming more aware of myself and so many other wonderful tips.Once I began reading this book, I couldn't put it down. The writing is clear, easy to understand, relatable, and inspiring.Overall, "Successful Aging for Women Over 50" is a valuable resource for any woman who wants to live a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life as they age. Highly recommended!
