4.0 out of 5 stars A Slightly Darker, Runny Honey That Is Very Tasty
The media could not be loaded. This Greek Forest Honey is a tasty, runny, slightly dark honey from St Lawrence. It is quite floral and off the spoon very nice. We've had it on porridge in the morning and it sweetened it up nicely. We haven't had it with cheese or meat yet (as the tasting notes suggest), but I can see it working well, especially with cheese. My only concern would be that runniness as I could see it getting messy if perhaps adding it to a cheese ladened cracker.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Tasting but expensive
There are many honeys out there, all have some health benefits and the more famous ones like Manuka have more than others. This St Lawrence Gold Greek Forest Honey sits somewhere in the middle. It’s about 3-4 times as much in cost as supermarket honey but if you study their packaging you’ll find nearly all come from multiple sources, many outside the EU with less stringent checks and there’s some concern over ‘watering down’ once it arrives in the UK for packing. The expense is down to a single source honey, this one being from Greece, though it’s still packed in the UK. The honey is therefore more pure and contains more health benefits than mixed origin ones. Of course, we only have their word for the purity and there is no word of the actual plants used. The taste is stronger than supermarket honeys but still recognisable as the sweet light flavour. This is in contrast to unrefined honeys and those like Manuka which are much stronger. It’s a good sweetener, nice on bread and great in breakfasts like porridge too.So the price might be high, I’m not 100% sure it’s worth the full amount, hence 4 stars, but it does seem to be good quality.
