4.0 out of 5 stars Vibrant and good quality
I’m pleased with these. They look nice and seem sturdy. The lid isn’t airtight but I didn’t need that.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and quirky
Really nice colours and I think they're pretty quirky. Have used in our kitchen for a while now and we always get compliments on them. Not the largest of containers but big enough for the majority of things you would want to keep in nice containers like these.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not entirely sure what to use them for.
There's no doubting that the 'Regal Trunk Wooden Food Storage Containers - Metal Canisters with Bamboo Lids - Set of 4' look nice - especially when set up for a photo opportunity. However I am not entirely sure what their purpose is. The seals on the bamboo lids are average at best and certainly not fully airtight, so storing coffee is out of the question and the same for anything else that will leech moisture from the air. Maybe stock cubes - but my stock cubes stay in the cupboard out of sight and don't need to be out on display. The look of these is pretty nice, however the metal of the containers is very thin, and though nicely and securely packaged one of my large containers came with a small dent on it.I think I will palm these onto my daughter for her bottom drawer. At £10.99 they aren't massively expensive, however you need to think about what you may put in them as they aren't airtight.
4.0 out of 5 stars Look very smart, but expensive for what they are
This item was supplied to me free of charge through Bolo’s Vine programme, however this in no way influences my review, which is intended to be both impartial and informative for potential purchasers. We got these containers to add a splash of colour to a newly decorated kitchen, and they certainly do that (in fact they're much brighter than they appear in the pictures). They are a useful size for containing kitchen items such as tea, coffee, rice, pasta, etc., and the lids seem to give a good airtight seal. For the price, though, there is lots of competition and unless you're more concerned with looks (having something smart out on the kitchen worktop) in future I would probably stick with either glass jars or tupperware.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not air tight
The media could not be loaded. These tins come in 2 sizes though for me I found them fairly basic as they do not have a seal in the lid which means if they accidentally fall over, all the contents inside will spill out so you have to be careful when you decide what to put in the tins, knowing this. That is why for my first choice, I chose sodium bicarb for washing up etc as of it spills, it is ok.I was thinking about placing microgreen seeds in there as it is dark but if I did, I would have to put strong sellotape on the outside in case of spilling. The tins are very light weight and if they got weight, or got stained by wettish contents inside, I cannot tell if the tin would rust. If I did store anything wettish inside or that was prone to sweat, I would place it in a plastic bag in case of rustI feel the price of £29 is way too high. Perhaps £12.99 would be more reasonable.
4.0 out of 5 stars Smart-looking small storage jars
This is a set of four stylish food storage jars (though you could certainly use them for storing other small items around the home as well). The jars themselves are metal, with lids made of bamboo. As others have said, they were a bit smaller than I anticipated, so check the dimensions carefully to ensure they will meet your needs before you buy.The bamboo lids aren't airtight, so the jars may be better suited for some purposes than others. I'm not sure I would keep sugar in them, for example, though herbs and spices should be fine. You'll also probably want to affix labels (not supplied) to show what each jar contains, as you won't be able to see this without removing the lid.Overall, these are smart-looking little storage jars, though maybe not quite as practical or versatile as I originally hoped. Four stars from me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful
Beautiful colour tins but not airtight ! I have stored my coffee beans , sugar and tea bags in them and they are OK for that . Lovely item
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking dry food storage containers
This is a very attractive set of wooden food storage containers and a nice addition for my kitchen storage needs. There are 4 containers and they have a kind of retro look but also at the same time a modern charm. I liked the mix of metal canisters with bamboo lids which I think adds a touch of rustic elegance. Two of the containers are larger and two are smaller. The lids make an airtight seal however make sure not to hold the containers by the lids as even though they are airtight they are not stuck fast and are fairly loose. These were a little smaller than I expected . I found the capacity to be a bit on the small side, even the larger ones were the same as a standard coffee/tea container.I loved the iridescent blue colour. They look good and work well but the slightly smaller than expected capacity means this gets a star marked down.Overall these are a stylish and functional option for storing dry goods in smaller quantities.
