Very suitable for my cockapoo girl ... she eats better she doesn't scratch her skin grown thicker coat and put on weight. I mix it with her food I also give to my cat both very happy and I can tell they love taste of it . With buying if dig needs help with : weight, coat, scratching.
5.0 out of 5 stars Time will tell. But they both love the taste.
I have a 16 year old cat and a 3 year old cat. They were not sure at first but after a taste they both love this salmon oil. Both will happily lick it from a teaspoon. I got this for my older cat. That's Max in the picture. He's 16 and not as agile as he used to be. I notice him having trouble with jumps he never used to have no issues with and he just seems less mobile so I hope this helps. I'll edit in more details as time goes on.Edit: 24/07/24. Been giving them 1 teaspoon a day in wet food.. Noticable difference in Max the 16 year old's coat and mobility. His coat is thick and oily. His agility has become much better but not perfect of course due to age. But he seems much more comfortable making the jumps he used to. His eyes are also very bright and maybe my imagination but has started hunting again and bringing gifts home. I notice that this oil encourages both my cats drink a lot of water as well. Which is good. It must be quite rich as they leave half their wet food for later.Edit:18/08/24 Really has made a differnce to Max. The younger one doesn't like it lol. Been giving Max a teaspoon a day which he loves. He's become the ninja cat he used to be. His coat is feels really nice and he seems very content with cat life.
4.0 out of 5 stars Cat loves it but dispenser leaked
I have recently got an elderly cat from the RSPCA. Claudia Winkleman would be shocked at the amount of dandruff he has. His mobility in his back legs can be a little awkward at times. I have bought this to try and improve his condition - clearly too early for results. He loves the oil on his food and it all gets woofed down when it’s been added. I put the provided dispenser in the first bottle to help extract the right amount with the minimum mess. I hadn’t realised but the dispenser has been steadily dripping oil - see photo. Not a huge amount (couple of teaspoons or so) but clearly not expected or acceptable. I don’t know whether as with some dispensers you can close it as I’ve now taken it out, drained the oil it contained back into the bottle and put the standard cap back on. I am impressed with the quality of the product, it has a pleasant fresh fish smell, just a shame about the dispenser. I will update later with the impact of the oil on the cat’s dry coat and his mobility
5.0 out of 5 stars Helps with overall health.
I give my cat a quarter of a tsp in her food and it seems to help keep her coat glossy and help her general health. My cat reacts negatively to guide a few foods but this does not bother her . Would definitely recommend
5.0 out of 5 stars I haven’t personally tasted this salmon oil but our dogs and cats seem to love it
I have bought several salmon oils over the last couple of years and from the reaction from our animals they agree this is the best. We have several dogs elderly and young and many cats aged from 6-16 years who are given salmon oil regularly to help aid their health. Before when we have mixed a tea spoon full into each cats food they have turned up their noses and refused the food, not so with this salmon oil, they can’t seem to get enough and lick their dishes clean. The only downside is no matter how carefully I pour some always dribbles down the side and it’s difficult to judge how much comes out each time. It would be great to have a ‘pourer’ on it like you find on some olive oil bottles. I could then measure out more accurately and homely avoid the dribble. So far this has been the best value for money as none of it has been wasted!
3.0 out of 5 stars Cat hates it
Have tried several ways to get my cat to eat this, on all different types of food but she refuses to eat anything it’s touched. And my cat loves food! Probably been the best thing to discourage her from howling for more biscuits but of course she wont eat the oil so I can’t comment on its quality. The product itself seems ok so I’m going to have to donate this bottle to a friend to see if their cats will eat it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works well
A tiny bit of this mixed in with kibble and my fussy dog will eat away.
