    My old toilet roll holder was one of the "hook" style that only had a single point of contact with the wall. It was fine for ages, but eventually, it started coming loose and drooping, leading to the roll dropping on the floor more than once. No amount of tightening the grub screw underneath would sort it out and I couldn't keep on taking it off, to tighten everything else and putting it back on again. I'm not a big fan of the "sprung rod" type, so was surprised when I saw this "hinge type" as an alternative as I'd not seen one like this before. It struck me as a good idea and also useful for those with a weaker grip who may not be able to use the "sprung" type easily, but don't want the "hook" type instead.I thought it was worth a try and having picked and ordered a nice shiny Chrome one, was very impressed when it arrived. It was very nicely packaged in a box with a moulded insert to hold the pieces in place during transport. It was much heavier than I was expecting with a nice "solid" feel to it which is very reassuring and also makes it feel more like a premium product.I re-used the existing screw hole and wall plug from my old holder as one of the ones for this, to give me a starter point. A few careful measurements, some carefully drilled holes in my tiles (after checking the measurements again), a quick screw (2 per side) later and it was up. It's got the usual little hex head grub screws on the underside of each half to hold the outer pieces on so you can't see the screws holding it the wall, but even they tightened up nicely and felt secure, rather than feeling a bit flimsy like a lot of them do.As you can see from the photos, lift the bar, put the new roll on, put the bar back down again and you're done. The hinge is a little stiff to start with, but there is a screw on the back of it you could loosen if you wanted to. I think this will probably, naturally work its way looser with time and use though and may eventually need to be tightened if you are particularly fussy about the stiffness of the hinge on your toilet roll holder.Overall, I'm very impressed with this consider it a very good buy and good value for money at it's current price.

    I loved the fact this came with a template, as I am not a confident DIY person and it allowed me to fit it really easily. The toilet roll holder is of good quality, stable and functional. Due to the swivel it allows you to change the roll easily and it keeps it nicely in place. The polished chrome looks good and I am very pleased I went for this item. Love it. I highly recommend this item and you won't be disappointed.

    My kids kept pulling the toilet roll of the old holder. This is good as it stops them from coming off. Only issue which maybe my walls is that the holder has come loose a few times.

    Well made and solid toilet roll holder. Very practical for small spaces, as one side rotates to accept the roll and then it rests on the other side precisely and securely.

    It really is the little things in life that make all the difference.After around 12 years of abuse, our toilet roll holder turned droopy. I've been 'plastering' it with a regular rubber washer but, alas, I took the plunge and purchased a new one.My husband has been warned. There is simply no need to hit the toilet roll when taking the appropriate two squares (or number of squares required).I was impressed with the feel of quality from this particular purchase. I will report back in 12 years to comment on the longevity. If not before.
