5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly as a KVM switch and a hub
This is an excellent product. I've searched a long time for something to allow me to 1) share keyboard, mouse, etc. between work and home laptops, 2) add connectivity for each with their limited USB-C connecters and 3) to enable push button switching from one machine to the other. This product does all 3 out the box and my desk is now the cleanest it has even been! Great stuff.
4.0 out of 5 stars OP KVM
This KVM switch is a doorstop of an over powered KVM intended to act as a dual docking station. It works by taking video in through the USB C, then pumping out HDMI. It can power two medium powered laptops (up to 60W each) simultaneously, has 6 USB A slots, a further peripheral USB C in, and handles ethernet too. I'll be using this to switch between two laptops and to replace my existing KVM + double double docking station set up. It comes with a big brick adapter to power it. Unfortunately, one of my laptops runs at 140W itself so can't be powered from this beast, but it will still help declutter my desktop. Note a potential issue - you can't have both laptops use the ethernet at the same time, so be sure you're OK for this disconnection. All this said, my existing KVM was a tenth the price, so check this is the right solution for you. But if you are in need of a setup requiring: - 2 x docking stations - 2 x external monitors each - Power over USB C (up to 60W) This may be a worthwhile investment, being comparable in price to a single lower spec OEM docking station.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wow.
I have plenty of switchboards, but this may be one of the ones up there for me. You're allowed to connect various things to it such as your keyboard, monitor, mouse etc, and you can easily switch between anything you want. It's not just got connection to external devices, it also has an ethernet port, which comes very handy. The switching between elements is so smooth, it doesn't lag, doesn't stop, it just looks slick when it happens. You also have 4K UHD video so it's super clear and you can transmit data up to 5Gbp/s, which is super fast. One of the amazing things this can do is it can keep up with gamers, the resolution is perfect, the speed is perfect, it's everything you need.
5.0 out of 5 stars It works
Personally I know nothing about this thing but my roomie is the techy person and loves it. I believe somehow she has he PC.and laptop connected alot soad keyboard mouse etc.. also all link and going between different things is a smooth process no delays or freezing.Keeps things tidy and clear picture.I can only go off what she says it all looks the same too me . But the box is a bit big but just sits at the back of her desk doesn't get in the way. Seems strong made well and is lasting. She got all excited by it when I asked her to test it so that's got to be a positive sign.
2.0 out of 5 stars Not Really Mac OS Compatible
Seems like a decent bit of kit of the face of it but I don't think it is made clear enough that it does not work properly with a MacBook Pro in that if you plug in the USB C it will only mirror the two displays not show them as two separate displays. The only way to do this I think will be with an additional HDMI splitter which is not ideal. If you are wanting to use with apple then you may be better waiting until they release a product they are developing that does work with Mac OS.
4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job well but gets VERY hot!
I have to run a Mac and a Windows PC for work plus I need to use 2 screens so this unit enables me to run both computers and both screens seamlessly.Switching between computers is effortless and happens immediately. The unit isn't cheap at £279.00 at time of purchase but it eradicates the issues for multiple screen and computer users as soon as you plug it in.Personally I found well worth the money so I'm happy to recommend
5.0 out of 5 stars Great but expensive
It works well at enabling me to switch between two computers seamlessly. But it does get a bit warm and is very expensive compared to alternatives on the market.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great
I have been using this for a week prior to reviewing. It was very easy to connect. There are the USB C cables to connect to both devices in the box, but no HDMI cable. This is no issue as I already had one.On the front the USB-A connections are highlighted for wireless keyboards and mouse, both of mine are, using different receivers, so this worked good for me.The connection to the hub has been excellent and my mouse and keyboard have not disconnected at all.Its a good solid device, and works perfectly. This device is not perfect, there is only a USB-C port along with SD reader on the front, so still have to reach around to plug anything else extra in. My main annoyance is the proprietary power connector, if the power supply ever dies I doubt I would be able to find a cheap replacement.Switching between devices can be a bit laggy at times.I have used this with both of my laptops and my Ipad and it worked perfectly.Overall happy with it!
Amazing Piece of Tech
The media could not be loaded. I don't think I've ever created a video for a review but I was so excited about this thing that I decided I really need to. I work from home as a government employee, which means I have to follow certain cybersecurity practices and comply with any and all regulations. But I also have my own side business doing IT work and consulting. This means I have to have two separate computing devices as I cannot use government issued equipment for personal use and use personal equipment for official government use. (I also have a Steam Deck that I have connected to it, and it works great there.)This is where the AV Access KVM Switch Dock comes in clutch. I previously had two docking stations paired to a cheap KVM that I owned and that was less than ideal due to compatibility and driver related issues between so many different devices. As you can see in the video, this device works flawlessly and relatively quickly to move between computers.Pros:- Ethernet keeps the inactive device wired to the internet- Works with other USB-C PD cables (the ones that came with it felt cheap to me)- Manual claims it supports 4k@60hz, 1440p@144hz, and 1080p@240hz so get your game on!Cons:- The 3.5mm audio jack is in the front, this means having to run cables around the back if you have speakers you want to use with it- Device does not come with an extended button or controller so it must be within reach to toggle computer switching. (Manual says the CTL port on the back is for an extension button, but I cannot find any sort of device like that online, even on their official site)- When plugging your laptop into the KVM dock, it takes roughly 10 seconds for everything to start working (not the end of the world, just a small FYIFinal thought: Others have said it gets hot. So far I have not experienced this. It is warm, but given that it's providing power to two laptops this is to be expected. Overall I'm super happy with the purchase and I love that it cleared up about 30% of the cables I was using before with a traditional KVM set up.
Seemlessly supports dual HDMI out, through DisplayPort connection from source computers
I've had KVM switches in the past, and I wasn't expecting this "Fantastic Beast"!AV has exceeded my expectations and I am very satisfied with this purchase. I would recommend this switch to anyone!
Single and therefore best device on the marked :) Still might be improved.
Using it for almost 20 days now, so here is my honest opinion:1) First let's discuss setup:I have a personal "gaming" ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) with 3080TI. I have some none name company Dell laptop with Ryzen 7 4750U. Laptops are using Windows 11 Pro and Windows 10 Pro correspondently.Next monitors: Internal gaming laptop have 2k 165Hz display. Internal dell laptop 1080p 60hz. External Dell monitor G3223D 2k 165Hz and Asus VA27EHE monitor with 75Hz refresh rate.2) Review:Pros:* I don't think there is anything on the market that have 2 USB-c input and can work like a hub, so this product is the only choice!* Device split ethernet connection between both laptops so your "inactive" device will be always online.* Tons of ports, should be enough for any regular user.* Device is emulating screen for "inactive" laptop and you won't have problems with messy windows sizes/icons movement all around the desktop/strange RDP behavior and etc.Cons:* My Dell 2k 165hz monitor is NOT working in 165hz mode not it's working in 144hz mode. It's shows artefacts only and I verified that connecting it via second USB-c port directly to laptop fix the problem. HDMI cables are also good 2.1 standard cables so at least 144hz refresh rate should work, but it is not.* Device is not working with my other thunderbold-4/usb-4 type-c cables. I am not sure why, I understand that instruction says to use only original one, but why??? And when original one will wear out what I will have to do?????* Device does not support DDC/CI pass though so you will not be able to change your monitors brightness, and even my old semi-working messy Baseus hub supported that! My eyes will never recover from that :((((((((* Other reviews mention that device get hot and this is partially true for me as well. But when I connect gaming laptop to original power break (99% of the time) looks like internal USB-C power supply can get some rest and kvm switch getting less heat and it's getting just warm, not hot hot.* Other reviews mentioned that switch between laptops can take up to 5 seconds. This is again partially true for me: 1080 display got online in 1.5 second, but the main 2k display took around 3 seconds.* Device mention "wake up" function, but it's not working for both my laptops, and I triple checked USB wake-up settings* When you turn off your laptops and than turn them back on they didn't find the external displays before you disconnect USB-c cable and connect it back. Sometimes it takes 2-3 attempts before it starts working.* For some reason I wasn't able to run all 3 displays: rather internal or 2 external. This might be the way how it works or even my laptops hardware limitations but still good to share for those who expect that setup to work.Resolution: it might look like device have more cons than pros from my review, but as I mentioned before AV Access is the only company that offer smth like. This is the only company that filled the niche and did that not badly. If we would have competitors with same price tag I would give product 3 star, but since they are the only one who "cared about us" — it's 5 stars minus 1 as regarding all cons.I am sharing the review not to stop other customers but to share feedback to the company so next generation of devices or maybe some kind of firmware upgrade will improve the quality.
I do like this (and would’ve loved it) but…
Lately, my monitor has been flickering while in use. I checked the connections on both the device and my laptop and they’re tightly secured. It didn’t do this at first, but I noticed it’s been happening more and more lately. I have this connected to my personal and my work laptops. It’s only been happening to my personal MacBook Pro. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I had no problems with the PC laptop for work.Lately, I had to switch to a MacBook Pro for work and I haven’t set it up yet. I will update this review to see if it will do the same thing.Update: so I am using this to switch between my personal MacBook Pro 2019 and work MacBook Pro (latest model). The flickering on my personal MacBook is still happening. Not quite flickering but it’s like the monitor turns black for a second or two before going on again. And then it happens again a couple of minutes later. It doesn’t bother me so much unless I’m working on a big project. As for my work MacBook Pro, it works almost perfectly! It did that flicker thing maybe once but I haven’t noticed it since.I found a “solution” for the heating up of the machine. I have a desktop fan and face it toward it and it cools it off. Maybe others can try that too.
Amazing KVM Switch for Home Office and Gaming!
I recently got this KVM switch with a docking station for my dual-monitor setup, and it's been fantastic. Switching between my two laptops is quick and easy, and the video quality is impressive. It handles 4K resolution perfectly, and the 60W charging for each PC is super convenient. The build quality is solid, and the extra features like the 1G Ethernet port and EDID emulation really help with productivity. The setup was straightforward, and it works exactly as advertised. If you need a reliable KVM switch for a home office or gaming, I highly recommend this one!
