    Normal capsules that are easy to swallow and don't have a taste, also well packaged. I don't know if they work or not after a week of testing but effects can take a while to show.

    I have been taking these tablets consistently for about a month. First few weeks were amazing I didn’t experience any bloating, even felt like I had lost a couple of pounds. I was loving life! However, as I approach a full month, the bloating has sadly returned with a vengeance. Was initially going to buy more tablets but now I’m not so sure. Think I’ll consult my doctor first.

    Given my adventures in fatherhood and the perpetual quest for a semblance of health amidst nappy changes and midnight lullabies, I thought to give my gut flora a bit of TLC. Plus, let's face it, at 43, it's high time I paid attention to the internal ecosystem.The Experience:First off, swallowing these wasn't akin to downing a spoonful of cement. They're pretty manageable, size-wise, which is a relief. I've been on these little gut guardians for a good few weeks now, and I must say, there's a noticeable pep in my step. The digestive dance I used to do post-meals (you know, the one where you try to subtly ease your discomfort) has significantly reduced.Pros:Improved Digestive Harmony: My stomach no longer sounds like it's auditioning for the lead role in "The Phantom of the Opera" during the quiet bits of the night.Convenience: Easy to pop in with breakfast, no need for refrigeration, which is great because my fridge is a war zone of baby food and questionable leftovers.Mood Booster: Might be the placebo effect or just better gut health, but I'm less of a grump in the mornings now. The missus is thrilled.Cons:Patience is Key: Don't expect miracles overnight.     These capsules contain both prebiotics and probiotics. Probiotics being the beneficial bacteria for cultivation in the gut and prebiotics being the nutrient for these bacteria. My understanding is that eating certain foods, or if a more interventionist approach is required, taking supplements containing both can help balance your gut bacteria. The latter is particularly helpful for example after a course of antibiotics where the balance has become artificially disturbed, but microbiome therapy is also useful for certain gut disorders where the balance of ‘good’ bacteria to ‘bad’ is upset.The capsules are slow release and contain a good mix of strains from the Lactobacilus and Bifidobacterium groups, which are said to be key ones for gut health. They also provide 45 billion CFU (colony forming units) which exceeds the recommended minimum of 30 CFU.My current liquid form probiotic, the one recommended by my gastric surgeon, works out at around £1.50 per day. At the current price of a touch under £40 for a 2 month supply these capsules will be a less pricey way to achieve the benefits if they prove to be equally effective. Because it can take a while for probiotics to take effect, I will not know if these are a good substitute for my present probiotic for some time and I will come back to this review to update it if they prove to be a disappointment.For the same 60 day dosage, there are both cheaper and more expensive probiotics available on Bolo. While most contain a range of Lactobacilus and Bifidobacterium strains each has its own unique makeup of ingredients - this one contains a total of 30 different strains for example.As mentioned earlier, I do not yet know how effective this product will be or whether a different product might be as good for a cheaper price. Giving a rating is therefore difficult. I will give an initial 4 stars to reflect my understanding of the ingredients and cost and will come back to this review to edit it if my experience is not good.
