5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent smaller travel mug from a quality brand
I was delighted to get my hands on this Contigo mini autoseal travel mug as I have been a long time user of a contigo mug and so I trust the brand and know it’s quality. My other, larger, mug I have had for a minimum of 5 years (probably 7 years or longer) and it is still going strong now. I was interested to see what if anything has changed (and things have)This vacuum flask mug is smaller, with a capacity of 300ml. Think just under a can of coke which is perfect for the smaller stronger coffees I like to drink. If you want to go by coffee shop sizes a Costa Small is 227ml and a Starbucks short is 240ml. Like my other mug you press a side button to open the sipping hole to drink and it auto seals tight when you let go making it spill proof. Additionally on this model is a lock button on the top which locks the seal shut making it safe to chuck in a bag safely.I don’t need to tell you that vacuum flasks are designed to keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold do I, so instead I will confirm that the mug does fit mug holders in the car. Finally I will tell you that another feature of this mug that my older one doesn’t have is the ability to flip the whole sealing mechanism for much easier cleaning. When I reviewed this it was priced at £29.99 with a bonus of a 30% off voucher making it closer to £21. These mugs are not cheap but they are the best I’ve ever had (others being binned or finding their way to charity shops) so recommended from me.
4.0 out of 5 stars Usual Contigo quality and keeps drinks warm, but bulky and expensive
I have a Contigo Byron cup which I use regularly when driving for any distance, and as I am very pleased with it I had always wanted to give the West Loop a try to sea how effective the Autoseal function is.The cup itself is finished to the usual Contigo standards, and feels to be of a very high quality. The top is solid thermo-formed plastic and doesn't feel at all flimsy, and attaches firmly to the cup (although it is a little fiddly gettign it into the correct position to be able to screw it on). When your cup is filled with your chosen beverage, you can drink from the spout by pressing the large release button which is on the rear of the lid when the spout is facing you. When you release the button the spout reseals so that the cup won't spill even if you knock it over. It is also possible to lock the spout so that it won't accidentally open in transportation. The cup kept my coffee nice and warm for long enough to enjoy it, and the autoseal function makes it very easy to use one handed. When you've finished your drink it is possible to clean the lid thoroughly by flipping open the internal mechanism, and it is even top tray dishwasher safe if that is your preference. One consequence of the autoseal lid is that it is extremely bulky, and this is even more obvious on this smaller 300ml capacity mug. It feels like half the cup is made up of the lid so you feel short changed when your drink is finished long before you were expecting! It certainly does the job and would be ideal if you only have one hand free for your drink, but would I choose to buy another? Probably not. The Byron is a perfectly serviceable alternative, and will last longer as it has fewer moving parts to go wrong. Combined with the price difference my recommendation if you want a Contigo mug but you are happy to flip open and closed the seal on the lid yourself I would skip the West Loop and buy yourself a Byron instead.
5.0 out of 5 stars Premium quality mug to take *with you*
I have been using Contigo mugs for a long time - I bought my first one 10 (!) years ago, use it constantly and it's still going strong. I have a lot of faith in this brand and love their quality. It's also a beautiful colour and finish (mine is Lakeside, which is a stylish grey with a slight sparkle)This is a smaller version of my original mug. It's a 300ml size - a small size hot drink in most establishments would be about right (I usually get a Caffè Nero from a machine in Waitrose and it fits)The thing I love the most about it is it really is spill-proof. This new version has an added button lock to prevent accidental opening of the seal, but I actually forget to use it as the Autoseal works so well for this. The lid is dishwasher safe and it pops open for easy cleaning.Delighted with this product and hoping it will last as long as the previous ones. It's not cheap, but I think it's definitely worth the money as it's excellent quality that will last. A great item to have with you (=Contigo!)
5.0 out of 5 stars Most reliable travel mug I’ve owned.
At £29.99, this is not the cheapest travel mug on he market but this really is a case of ‘you get what you pay for’I have owned a larger version from this brand for over 4 years now. It is still in excellent condition and has never let me down. This mug works in a similar way and early indications are that it will be just as good. This mug holds 300ml liquid which is about the size of an average mug of coffee. Ideal to fill up before leaving the house, and easy to refill when out and about. The lid screws on securely and then is Locke dingo place by pushing a clearly labelled button. Once in this position, the mug absolutely will not leak. I have tipped it upside down and let it roll around on the floor and it has stayed completely dry.In order to drink, you have to depress this button then hold down the side button to open the spout. The only possible issue you may have is that it keeps your drink so hot that initially, I find it too hot to sip. After an hour or so, it is the perfect temperature. This is the perfect size for me to take on walks or train journeys. It will get a lot of use and I am delighted with it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Premium travel cup.
This is an expensive cup but it does have a high quality finish. It has a small capacity so could be used for small size coffee shop drinks and is ideal for our home coffee machine which makes smaller drinks. The colours are neutral and both adults are happy to be seen carrying it round. The locking mechanism is very sturdy and you push a button to drink the contents. The drinking spout takes a little getting used to but I find this with all travel mugs - you have to adjust to the different flows. Overall a great cup, high price but I do think it is built to last.
Love this brand.
The cup is perfect, totally spill proof. It’s worth the price.
Excellent, genuine, equivalent to a coffee mug.
This is not my first owned Contigo west loop autosesl thermal mug as I own others with differentsizes, so I know what I'm talking about. It keeps your beverage hot for enough time to enjoy it, and when you lock it you can toss it in your bag without worrying it will leak! One hand un seal is my favorite to use on the go with ease.Definitely recommended!
Super
Super beim Autofahren.
