5.0 out of 5 stars Works well
Contact between house and shed is excellent.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price
Found easy to set up,portable as I wanted and very loud the only thing is can be a bit sensitive meaning if you just brush the buttons with little pressure you can accidentally set them off but great for internal use bought for elderly mother as she falls a fair bit and they have proven to be life savers.price could be a bit lower but that's like everything
3.0 out of 5 stars Smaller than expected (but never mind) and the units are not of particularly high quality
The problem I may have with this is that the unit (which will be on the front doorframe) will require a re-charge every-so-often. I imagine I'll have to unscrew the unit from it's exterior casing, using the minute screwdriver (supplied) on the miniscule screw to release it, then charge-up and put it back again. I appreciate that this is done for security reasons, to prevent the exterior unit from being attacked by vandals and chucked away, but I'm certain I'll become irritated by the phaff of remembering when to re-charge it and having to intricately fiddle about whilst doing so.I was concerned before buying this as to what could prevent the outside unit being removed by mischief-makers: fortunately, we live in a quiet area so this may not occur.Because this review prompt arrived the day after the package was delivered, I've had no chance to test it yet, so 'no comment' so far! I'm about to charge the receiver and then we'll see if it works. I have no reason to doubt that it will but, because of the general cheapness of construction, I doubt if this will be good for anything more than a couple of years. During that time, I'm sure it'll prove useful. However, next time I'll try to find something more durable. As I work upstairs, am quite lame and take a while to get to the front door, I wanted a simple doorbell / intercom without all the recorded images sent wirelessly to a mobile 'phone and motion detection! This seems to be the only thing on the market within my budget - which was up to £80 - but I couldn't find anything else on offer.I hope this will help anyone considering buying this item.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Set - Intercom and Rechargeable Features are Great
This has turned out to be an excellent upgrade to our very basic doorbell. It was very easy to install and is wireless, so there was nothing taxing about it!Both units are rechargeable via USB, which is a great feature and is simple to do. I’m not sure how often it will need charging as I haven’t had to do it yet (the bell has been installed for just over 2 weeks, and I would expect it to last a fair amount of time with our usage levels).I have a 3 storey house with an office at the top, so I can take the portable indoor hub up to the office with me, and can easily communicate with anyone calling at the door. It’s handy to let people know that I am on my way down to the door. It’s also going to be great in summer as I can take the portable unit into the garden with me.It has rained a lot since installing the bell and I have had no issues with it. There is a little cover panel which affixes behind the exterior bell, but I’m not sure how much this actually helps.I’ve never wanted one of those WiFi/video enabled doorbells - everyone I know always seems to have problems with them. This for me is the next best thing as it isn’t over-complicated and I’ve had no issues with connection. The simplicity also means this would be good for elderly users, and I can envisage uses in a care setting for an intercom bell.I’ve seen that an additional pack of 2 receptor monitors can be bought and added. It would be great to be able to buy this as the main unit and a pack of 2 receptors - this would be the perfect pack size in my opinion.Overall, I’m very pleased with this and would recommend it.
2.0 out of 5 stars Quality is rather low, if you're after an intercom system, I would search more
The overall quality is pretty low, it's made of that kind of plastic that feels.. plastic. I've connected the external unit into the kitchen to let my wife call me when she need me and I'm upstairs, and I've took the other unit with me. We've left it charging, I don't know if it was enough given that there's no clear evidence how much it's charged, also one unit can be charged with USB, the other has a proprietary plug. We've se the two units to the same channel, the she rang me: nothing happened. I've tried to talk, nothing. My room is right above the stairs, and trust me this is not a castle. While closer, I've tried to ring, it started ringing at a very high volume, I've turned it down and it didn't ring again. I've left them into their boxes and never used again. In all honesty, we're not talking about a very complex device, I shouldn't have all this issues, and I can assure this unit, works, at least if the two devices are close enough to connect. I will try again soon and update my review but, for my experience, I'm confident there's something better out there..
4.0 out of 5 stars No wire install
This is very easy to install and use. You don't need to worry about wiring in that it's completely battery powered. The internal battery is rechargeable with your USB so you won't need to keep buying batteries. One part of the unit is USB rechargeable and other sits on plug point inside your house. It's come very handycome, It is really useful for those occasions when you get unwanted cold callers knocking. The unit comes with a plate to attach to your door with small screws but I've actually used strong self adhesive tape So I'm not making permanent holes in my doorframe. In terms of aesthetics I think it looks a bit cheap. I'd also have liked this unit to be a bit smaller.Sound quality isnt outstanding but it's certainly good enough to do the job bought it for.
