    AEG is a good, reliable make, so I expected a powerful vacuum cleaner. I got more than I bargained for. Even on the lowest (carpet) suction setting, the cleaning head was clamped to the floor like a limpet. The instructions are pictorial, so you have to work out what the pictograms mean. I discovered that the aperture at the top of the suction pipe must be open in order for the cleaning head to move across the carpet. It still requires a bit more effort than our old Miele, but does a very good job regardless. I guess I'll build up a bit of muscle in my arms using the AEG. I'll treat it like a gym work-out.

    Fairly quiet in operation great suction. does what it was designed to do. We have all carpeted floors bar one, works well on all surfaces.

    Initially I had a problem using the AEG Clean 5000, but once I knew that I had to open the valve on the main suction pipe, I was good to go. A quality Hoover, the performance was extremely good, well, compared to the old one I had before. A quality buy!
