GetTested at Home D-dimer Test (1 Test) a Critical Marker for Thrombosis-Related Conditions, specifically Blood Clots.

Description:

About this item:

  • GetTested's D-dimer test is a convenient at-home blood test for detecting thrombosis risks. With a simple blood sample, it measures D-dimer levels in whole blood or plasma. The test kit includes everything you need and delivers results within 10 minutes.
  • D-dimer, a protein fragment appearing when blood clots dissolve, can indicate serious conditions like DIC, DVT, or PE. Elevated levels, detectable above 500ng/mL, require attention. This test is crucial, especially if you experience symptoms like chest pain, leg swelling, or shortness of breath. It's also recommended for those with a history of clotting disorders, recent surgery, or prolonged immobility.
  • The D-dimer Rapid Test offers a rapid and accurate way to assess D-dimer levels, a critical marker for thrombosis-related conditions. With quick results available, you can access crucial information about your coagulation status promptly, allowing for timely medical intervention if needed.

1.0 out of 5 stars False positive cause high anxiety

    a.m. · 25 August 2024

Don’t waste your money. I ordered this test as I was concerned about ongoing symptoms following Covid. The test was positive causing huge anxiety. Off I went to the emergency GP who sent me to A&E for further tests to rule a blood clot, including a venous blood sample to test for d-dimer which came back negative. Lesson learnt…don’t order these cheap home tests on Bolo…go straight to the doctor!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not sure.

Brought this to check if I had a blood clot, still not sure so I'm going to get checked out with a blood test from my GP instead to be sure.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Lancet and missing item

    G.H. · 9 April 2024

So well packaged and looks the jobProblem is the lancet device to take blood is sub standard. The cover is on so tight you're unable to remove it. I destroyed it in the process. So back to traditional needle. Also no pipette in pack as described in instructions.Wirh this many problems with the kit I'm less convinced the test actually works.. wouldn't recommend

1.0 out of 5 stars This test is wrong and useless on so many levels

I tried to follow the instructions (see pic) very carefully. Spoiler alert: it doesnt work. The kit comes with: A standard cassette test (which looks like a standard pregnancy test). Pipette. Sterile lancet. alcohol wipe. Instruction book.Method:1. Laid everything out to ensure easy testing with reliable results.2. washed my hands thoroughly with hot water and soap.3. Alcohol wiped my warmed finger.4. Used finger pricker from diabetic kit rather than the lancet as previous experience shows that THAT THING takes a deep core sample rather than just drawing blood.5. The kit states to draw up the blood with the "capillary tube" supplied. It was NOT supplied. What was supplied was a cheap dropping pipette which struggled to draw up any amount of dripping blood at all, let alone any without air bubbles. with help of grown up son (who has a degree in biomedical science & phamacological specialism) we managed to collect enough for sample needed.6. Complete confusion as instructions show a total of 3 recesses, whilst the cassette only had 2. So used the only recess for both sample and reagent. Couldnt do anything other than use the same recess.7. applied the reagent.8. Tried to read results. More confusion as instructions show results window having 3 readable results, whilst the actual cassette only has 2 ("T"est and "C"ontrol).9.Dutifully waited the 10mins. Tried to read any results at all. Seems negative? I think? Only the control line showed. Which is NOT an option reading from the instructions.THEORY: So i did some research. I looked into what D-dimer is and when is it present? Everyone should have SOME. The D-dimer test is QUANTITIVE (how much) not QUALITIVE (yes/no). I have pancreatitis caused by an inflamed gallbladder with gallstones. Lots of inflamation. D-dimer tests pick up HOW MUCH d-dimer a person has. Often, high inflamation shows up as high levels of D-dimer. It also shows when there is currently a large clot of some sort. Not that you COULD have one at some point.SUMMARY: I enjoyed spending some time, doing a thing, together with my son.CONCLUSION: The test was useless.

4.0 out of 5 stars very good to have available, easy to use and interpret.

PROS-very good to have around, just in case I fear I’ve developed a clot-very simple to use and interpret (good diagrams right on the box).CONS-just one in the packageNOTES-this is a difficult item to review, since I won’t be using it unless I’m worrying about a clot. But I’m glad to have it.MY STAR RATINGS:1* substandard, mostly cons2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros

    Impossibly to collect sample

Stechhilfe etwas "einfach", Ergebnis sollte man gegenchecken

    M.B. · 11 September 2024

    Easy

I donate blood and drive so far to do so, this made it easy to see if my iron would allow me to donate.
