This was so easy to set up and was quick to heat up. The attachmenta are top level and so simply to change over. I have used this on various projects since purchasing and I have recommended it to several arty crafty friends. Its easy to store away once cooled down. Easy to use with instructions supplied. Its quality it that of what we used in college so very impressed and for the low price is cost I was very happy.

The media could not be loaded. This soldering iron set for wood burning was as described, with minimal assembly required for the basic stand. There is no clip on the iron to hook it onto something, so using a stand is necessary. The stand is very minimal and has no base as such, just the folded metal sides contacting the work surface. There is therefore no anti-slip mechanism. There are two holes in the metal stand. One is for the metal holder and the other could be used to screw the stand to a work surface. I found that the iron can be fiddly to remove from the stand as it can slide quite far down, and then take some wrangling to get it out. Unless the base is fixed to a surface, in general it takes two hands to remove the iron. The cable is quite short at around 130cm long and also somewhat stiff being PVC. The shroud at the cable entry guides the cable away from the body of the iron, but does not appear to provide any strain relief or prevent the cable from flexing, so there could be strain on the cable connections internally.There is a red indicator visible within the body when the iron is powered, but no indication I noticed for when the iron is at temperature. Setting a temperature high enough for lead free solder, the iron reached temperature in just over a minute. I noted there was a fine point wood burning bit that fitted nicely into 2mm brass threaded inserts I have, and with a low temperature this worked well for inserting them into 3D printed parts, although the bit isn't the ideal shape for that task as the body flares out.The various bits and stencils in the set for wood burning, as well as soldering bits, make the set suitable for that task as well as general soldering, but I feel it's let down by the stand.

this was a nice gift for my crafty sibling, they've gotten a lot of use out of it and even gifted me some of the wooden coasters they've made using it! Apparently it's easy to use and the range of tips you get with is is good.

The media could not be loaded. It appears that the heat isn't enough to get to the nibs to work, all it is doing is making a slight indentation on the wood, when I say wood,it's thin plywood that normally a pyrograph pen glides through ...the picture of a star from my old tool ,the video from this tool for comparison

My boys are always messing around with tools and whittling things etc. I got this set to open up a new avenue for their creativity. The set comes with everything you need except the wood with plenty of options for the tips etc. Just be very careful of the whole metal end when switched on as it's obviously incredibly easy to burn yourself if not wary.

Great little set for beginners me and the kids really enjoyed using it and playing. can take a little while to warm up and you need to be carful obviously when holding it not to go too close to the end. Nice little stand that helps when not using it.Lost of ends to change too so you can have fun with your writing style or drawing.Children need adult supervision as it is a potential burn waiting to happen but good fun when managed

This pyrography set is advertised for beginners but with the lack of instruction on how to use it correctly and safely it's not ideal when you don't have a clue how to start wood burning. There is a page for soldering but most people who get this will want it for the pyrography side.The kit does contain a wide variety of both soldering and pyrography tools that add on to the actual soldering iron, it also contains some basic stencils and a case and stand.I'm going to have to watch you tube videos on how to use this correctly and safely and to find out what all the attachments actually do and what temperature it should be set at etc.
