5.0 out of 5 stars Good tablet
Good tablet for the price, pen works really well, display is good . It struggle a bit with multiple applications opened at the same time.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good budget android tablet not 5 stars though
Overall I really like the build quality of the tablet its metal for the price of a tablet that would usually be plastic so thats a bonus.I also really like the dolby atmos speaker system it has 4 speakers two either side of the tablet in landscape it does distort though at high levels if you put the volume on full. The display is really sharp and bright with a snappy 90hz refresh rate its 1080p but no amoled thats okay as LCD is fine.I like the addition of a pen because I am an artist who draws and paints its also great for taking notes and doing college work its smaller lighter and more versatile then my £750 laptop that I hardly use and has more uses obviously I cannot draw on my laptop I am studying animation so it would be a nice idea if there is an android app that does 2D animation but it seems there isn't but with google play you can get most apps that are on android.Overall sometimes the responsiveness of the tablet is slow sometimes the tablet will glitch and stutter or it will just freeze this doesn't happen all the time and its not really that noticeable when using the tablet for light use like I am but it can be annoying if you need to do something in a hurry wish it had a snapdragon cpu instead of mediatek as I have had problems with mediatek cpus in the past.Splitscreen and hovering windows is good I don't use that feature alot but maybe once I start college I will use it more I wish they gave you a keyboard case as well with it as that would turn it into an actual laptop instead your stuck with third party ones that are not the best connection and tend to disconnect.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great screen, sound, battery life. Easy setup straight out of the box. In short, recommended...
Why did I buy this?My requirement was for a well built tablet with a decent resolution/brightish screen, good speakers that could go loud (without distorting), good battery life and running a recent version of Android (preferably not too heavily customised from Google's 'vanilla' Android running on their Pixel phones/tablets), all at a reasonable price point. Not too much to ask for eh? :)Out of the box...The Lenovo Tab Plus felt solid straight out of the box with its aluminium body. It comes with few accessories. Just a USB C to USB C cable (approx 115cm long), Warranty/Quick Start Guide booklets and a memory card ejection prodder used to eject the tablet's microSD card holder. Up to 1TB microSD cards supported. A mains charger is NOT supplied as standard, Lenovo recommend a Lenovo branded charger or a charger supporting 18 (min) to 45 (max) Watts for maximum charging speed. They state that USB Power delivery (USB-PD) is supported by the tablet. (More on charging later). As mentioned, the tablet has a solid feel weighing in at 650g (1.43lb). Heavier than most modern 11.5" tablets. The tablet is marketed towards those wanting to consume music/movies on-the-go thus the inclusion of 8 loudspeakers housed in the speaker 'bulge' located in the lower half of the tablet (13.6mm thick going down to 7.7mm for the rest of the tablet) and a larger than average (for most modern slim tablets) battery with a capacity of 8600mAh.While on the subject of speakers, the tablet also offers a 3.5mm headphone socket for those who prefer wired rather than Bluetooth headphone connectivity. Both the inclusion of the larger speakers and high capacity battery obviously adds to the overall weight. But then given the tablet is aimed at media requiring bright screen settings, loudish audio from its excellent speakers then a larger than normal battery is required thus adding to the weight. The tablet has a built-in aluminium kickstand attached to the main body shell with sturdy hinges that adjusts to various angles (without collapsing!) which is great for media consumption.Brand new out of the box, the battery capacity was approximately 50%, easily allowing me to transfer content and settings from my (Pixel) phone via the included USB C cable and to download/install an Android update required to bring the device up to date (currently Android 14).With regard to software, Lenovo promise 2 years of major Android updates will be available which would take the Tab Plus up to Android 16 once released. Also 4 years of security patches. The Tab Plus sports 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. The main processor (Media Tek Helio G99) is nowadays considered entry level but in my opinion is certainly fast enough to get the job done. I haven't noticed any huge lag swapping between apps. Screen refreshes are certainly fast enough in my book. I'm not a gamer, but would suspect this would NOT be the tablet for you if gaming is your thing.WiFi 5 is supported alongside WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.2I have not experienced any issues so far with the tablet's WiFi.GPS is offered to include Glonass and Galileo support which is a nice to haveLiving with the Tab Plus...I'm not a big fan of the default Lenovo 'ZUI' Android Launcher so I have downloaded and I'm using the Lawnchair Legacy launcher which has allowed me to tailor my Tab so that my experience is much closer to the Google Pixel launcher. Obviously my preference is a personal thing and most users would find the Tab's default launcher experience fine.I am very impressed with the Tab's main selling point, its sound quality. The sound from this thing has to be experienced in order to understand what can be achieved with the 8 speaker setup.Battery life is not proving to be an issue so far. My only gripe has been charging. I initially used the USB power brick that came with my Huawei laptop that can only support 9V at 2A (18W), which is at the bottom end of the Lenovo recommended charging rate (18W min, 45W max). This resulted in slow charging requiring me to source a different charger that I had lurking allowing a much improved charge rate. Maybe Lenovo should be supplying an approved charger for this tablet? In conclusion...I am very happy with the Lenovo Tab Plus. It meets all my requirements without breaking the bank. I could have pushed the boat out and gone for a Pixel tablet which is currently (21 jan 2025) twice the price from Bolo. Also I would have missed out on the Lenovo Tab Plus's best feature, its speakers. One thing I miss with this tablet is a fingerprint reader, but I can live without that given its other featuresI will add any additional comments to this review if issues (or non-issues) arise. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tablet for a 10 Year Old
Bought this for my sons Birthday and he LOVES it. It feels better than his old Samsung Tablet as it feels a little bit more durable (not been dropped yet) and the storage is a good size. When setting this up, the tablet offers two functions; kids mode and normal. We didn't like the kids one, so opted not to use it. A quite google on how to do it and very easy to switch over. For the price we paid, the picture quality is good. It keeps him happy taking photos of his toys and the family. The Pen that comes with it is very good too although will be easily lost if you do not but a case the tablet.
