5.0 out of 5 stars Quite Impressive
We had a smaller drone that worked just fine (for our purposes, which we entertainment for children, hand/eye coordination and understanding of systems). I saw this one and, considering it an upgrade, decided to order it as part of a gift for them.It looks more substantial and works well, so I am giving it 5 stars as there is nothing I can really complain about. Of course it is a far cry from a professional, heavier machine, but I find this one quite robust and the quality of picture is quite impressive. So far we have not had issues with it and it is quite lightweight. The accessories are a brilliant idea on behalf of the manufacturer as it does make it feel more professional and 'advanced', especially if intended as a gift.I just hope the process behind manufacturing all of the items in the set is a planet-friendly one as these things matter greatly.
1.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to fly and unable to obtain replacements for damaged propeller blades
I have flown small drones before and am familiar with the basic controls. This drone comes in a very handy zip-up carry case, with cut-out foam to hold the drone and its controller safely whilst being transported. It looks smart with plenty of features so I was looking forward to flying it and obtaining some great aerial footageIt comes with spare 2 batteries as well as one inside the drone. It takes about 120 minutes to fully charge each battery, at which point the red charging LED turns off. Fortunately, the batteries are charged by a Micro-USB cable so it is easy to charge all three batteries at once by using the supplied cable and a couple of cables from other devices. This is so much more convenient than using a proprietary charging cable. The drone also comes with 4 spare blades, 4 screws and a screwdriver for running repairs. The remote controller requires 3 x AA batteries, which are not supplied.Having charged and installed the batteries, I went into a wide open space in a cul de sac at the end of our road and followed the instructions for calibration and then take off. It was easy to get the drone to take off and lift upward vertically but it was difficult to get the drone to move in the direction I wanted. I tried on several occasions but found that the drone kept crashing into bushes around the edge of the cul-de-sac.Each time, it crashed, I inspected the drone and found that it had damaged at least one of the propellers. I installed spare propellers to replace the damaged propellers and tried again but still had great difficulty in getting the drone to do simple manouevres such as taking off, travelling forwards, turning around after 10 m and returning back to base. After a few more crashes, I had exhausted the supply of spare propeller blades.I therefore contacted Customer Services via Bolo to find out how I could purchase spare propeller blades as these are not listed on the Bolo webpage or under Goolsky. It is now over a week later and I am still waiting for a response. This is unacceptable. I cannot recommend that anyone purchase this drone if they are unable to obtain replacements for this drone's fragile propeller blades.
