5.0 out of 5 stars Open swim pro best buy I have made in years
Swimming or not these headphones have been the best purchase I have made in years. They take a little getting used to buy honestly after 3 months I can not see myself without them. Inuse them for swimming and for daily use. Quality of sound is very very good. In the pool you benefit from the use of the provided ear plugs to maintain a steady volume and flow of sound. Pool use also requires the use of using mp3 storage on the device as Bluetooth will not work under water. Everyday use is amazing as you can still hear your surroundings. So comfortable after a while you forget you have them on. Great piece of tech.
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! Perfect for swimming!
Excellent quality, lightweight, great battery life, comfortable! And don’t fall off while swimming!Prior to these I quickly worked my way through two pairs of cheap versions. Both pairs failed within a couple of months. I decided to invest in these and wow they are perfect! Thin and small design but fit well on my big head. Very easy to setup and use in the swimming pool. Secure case to protect them.Loud volume levels too - works best with earplugs. MP3 mode for swimming allows me to dive (if you pardon the pun) into my old iTunes playlists from 2009 adding some spice to the swimming experience.Very happy!
4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Performance for Active Lifestyles
The SHOKZ OpenSwim Pro Bone Conduction Sports Headphones are a fantastic choice for those who prioritize safety and convenience during their workouts. The open-ear design is particularly noteworthy for cycling, as it allows you to remain aware of your surroundings—essential for hearing cars and other potential hazards. The IP68 waterproof rating is impressive and ideal for swimming, ensuring that the headphones withstand submersion and sweat without issue. The 32GB of MP3 storage is a great feature, letting you load up plenty of music for your sessions without relying on an external device. However, while the functionality and safety aspects are top-notch, the sound quality doesn't quite measure up to some high-end headphones like Apple AirPods. The audio is clear and sufficient for casual listening, but it lacks the depth and richness of more premium options.Overall, these headphones excel in areas crucial for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts, offering durability and situational awareness. If you’re looking for excellent sound quality, you might want to consider alternatives, but for practicality and safety, the SHOKZ OpenSwim Pro delivers very well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
I was concerned getting these as I hadn't been able to try a pair prior to purchase and I'm pretty deaf in my left ear so I wondered how they'd work for me. They have been fantastic. The sound quality as as good (or better) than my previous in-ear buds. They are comfortable and when used for running on roads far safer as approaching cars can be clearly heard. Not used for swimming but bought as I've sweated through and destroyed too many in-ear buds to go for anything but the most waterproof!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Open water Swimming
These are great. Load up some MP3s and you feel less isolated if you are doing any solo open water swims. Work best with earplugs.
1.0 out of 5 stars Do not work under water
I swim freestyle every day. These work on the surface but do not work under water. I’ve kept them because I’m using them cycling.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it 👍
Definitely shower proof. Used it in shower and ni problems. Love the sound. Good for those who don’t want very loud music in the ear but get the feel of good surround sound like you are listening to music whilst being aware of your surroundings. Love talking with family and friends whilst listening to music 🎵
3.0 out of 5 stars Great product..... with one with a MAJOR Flaw
Shokz OpenSwim Pro Review:I previously owned a pair of Shokz Aeropex for over three years, but after they broke, I decided to upgrade to the OpenSwim Pro. I was drawn to their waterproof rating, making them ideal for swimming, and the promise of improved battery life.I’m giving these a 3 out of 5 because for me they fall short in one major area and that is for swimming or more specifically how you can get music on them for swimming. Let me explain.Overall Rating: 3/5 StarIn the Box:• Headphone: obviously….• Warranty Card: A two-year warranty is fantastic, and having used it before, I can attest to the smooth process. Just ensure you register the headphones immediately and keep proof of registration.• Case: The silicone travel case is a nice touch.• Ear and Nose Plugs: They come with a small box of ear and nose protectors, which is a nice little additionBuild Quality & Fit: (4/5 Star)As expected with Shokz, the build quality is excellent. If you’re new to Shokz headphones, you’ll find that they fit very well and stay in place with minimal adjustment, despite their appearance. The silicone material feels sleek and comfortable. However, compared to the Aeropex, the band isn’t as tight, which makes them feel slightly less secure if the band sits too high. The band can also be annoying if you wear a hat when out walking as the hat will press down so moving the headphones out of place which will then need some adjusting but it’s to be expected I guess. One major improvement over the Aeropex is the metallic buttons. They feel much better I would go as far as to say that they are easier to feel and more responsive, especially for actions like double-tapping to skip tracks—this is something that I found was not great on the Aeropex but works great with these.Sound Quality: (4/5 Star)It’s essential to know that these aren’t designed to match the sound quality of inner earphones, they’re really intended for running, where being aware of your surroundings is crucial. That said, the sound quality is impressive, though at higher volumes, the vibrations can become noticeable, causing a slight itch. But…you eventually get to this to the point I never notice it.For general use, such as background music at my desk, they perform really well. With ear protectors in, the volume increases massively, which is particularly useful on a plane. While running, the sound is great, though high-traffic areas or areas of construction can drown out the audio. The Shokz app offers some EQ modes, They mainly reduce bass, this may sound strance when not in the water but underwater the base would overpower vocals so I think this would be very useful in the water.Battery & Charging: (4/5 Star)The battery life on the OpenSwim Pro is solid—I’ve yet to fully run out of charge. However, I did come close once because they didn’t charge overnight. The reason? The magnetic charging cable is more rigid than the one that came with the Aeropex, and it is easily disconnected if not placed carefully. In my case, the cable popped out of the port without me noticing, so they were not on charge overnight. There is a red indicator to say its charging and it goes blue when done but I just didn’t see it.The magnetic connection is strong but can be easily dislodged due to the cable’s thickness and rigidity, which is a bit of a pain. This is likely necessary because the cable is also used for transferring music, but it’s something to be mindful of when setting the headphones to charge. Additionally, unlike the Aeropex, which included two charging cables, the OpenSwim Pro only comes with one—disappointing at this price point. On the plus side, I stuck them on charge for 10 minutes, and that seemed to take the battery from 20% to around 60%... or at least this is what my iPhone indicator said, this was more than enough to get through the rest of the afternoon. The battery is rated to last longer than the Aeropex, which is definitely a bonus.Transferring Music & the App: (1/5 Star)Here’s where the OpenSwim Pro falls short. The biggest disappointment and the reason for the 3/5 rating—is the lack of seamless music transfer. You can’t download music from Spotify or other streaming services through the app; instead, you must manually transfer MP3 files from your computer. In an age where streaming dominates, this feels like a significant oversight, especially given the price point. If Shokz were to enable music downloads over Bluetooth in a future update, this would be a five-star product. For me it’s the biggest let down because I don’t have MP3s and I would imagine a majority of people stream now, so to get MP3’s I’d need to buy songs on MP3 which just adds to the overall cost.Swimming: (N/A)Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get music onto the headset yet, so I can’t rate this feature. I hope to update this review once I’ve had the chance to test it.Overall: 3/5 StarThe build and sound quality of the OpenSwim Pro are excellent, and they’re comfortable for extended use, whether running or listening to background music at work. However, the inability to transfer music from streaming services is a significant letdown, making the price hard to justify. My hope is that Shokz will address this in a future update, but it’s more likely this feature will be saved for their next model. If you’re a dedicated swimmer who can overlook the MP3 issue, these will be for you but, if you only swim now and then and primarily use headphones for running or daily activities, I’d recommend going with the Aeropex instead, they are cheaper and (minus the swimming side of things) does the job very well.
Perfect
Fast and amazing product. My second Shokz 💯
Great option for music while swimming
I’ve tried numerous different headphone option for swim workouts. The last few years I had been using the H20 audio mp3 player and earbuds. I found the shokz openswim pros to be a much better option and are now my go to for swim days. Sound quality is all relative. These headphones obviously will not sound as good as over ear sound canceling headphones or even AirPods. But relative to other under water options I found these to have great sound, even while swimming without ear plugs. Volume level was great, could hear things well with volume well bellow max. Underwater the base can get muffled so very bass heavy songs may not sound great, but it’s still better than the alternative - worse sounding options or god forbid swimming without music, which is for insane people. The headphones didn’t move, stayed in place over longer swims, flip turns etc. controls are easy to use and function well. Can easily hear your surroundings including people asking to share a lane. I had tried the finis bone conduction headphones years ago and the tech in the openswim is much much better - better sounding, consistent sound under water, smaller footprint. In ear earbuds rely on a solid waterproof seal in your ear so are pretty inconsistent and slide around a bunch once you get a little water in there. And not having to clip anything onto goggle strap is also a plus - super easy to pop on and get swimming. Also, I only use the mp3 play functionality in water. Using Bluetooth for a swim is worthless😑, which is to be expected. If you’re looking for Bluetooth headset options for swims you won’t find any. This is the longest review I’ve ever written. Must mean these things are pretty solid and were a pleasant surprise.
Super Geräte
Klang ist glasklar! Im Wasser allerdings ohne EarPlugs eher schlechtes Sounderlebniss. Generell gut verarbeitet. Funktional alles da was das Sportlerherz begehrt.
