5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money organic beeswax
The Eco Lux Yellow Beeswax Block is a very large slab of beeswax packaged in a vacuum-sealed clear plastic wrap. The block is 100% organic and free from additives. I love beeswax as I make my own hand and body products for my sensitive skin. Beeswax is very nourishing. It's great for handmade lip balms. This block offers excellent value for money. The 400g slab is really large and will last me some time. Recommended.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not pure beeswax
I can only go by my nose, and my nose says no. I've smelled real beeswax before, and this isn't it. This smells like a crayon. Slightly sweet, but that only means there's a little bit of beeswax in here. Definitely not 100% pure. And the warnings on the packaging are a riot. "Do not place in mouth", "wash hands after use"... oh but it's cosmetic grade, I thought, that's what the listing says? You can make cosmetics with it, and soaps? No?Ah, well.
2.0 out of 5 stars Unsure of purity or safety
I was expecting a bar of beeswax, if pure, will melt holding it for a while in my hands. I did not know the origin was China. The seller advertised it as pure and okay for cosmetics and lip balm and skin cream, Then the packaging says, wash hands after handling. This was to many red flags for me, I must know it is safe.I sent it back immediately and was refunded, no harm done. I hope the seller verifies the exact source and ingredients for health and safety reasons.
3.0 out of 5 stars 400g slab
It's difficult for me to tell if this is indeed 100% real beeswax or not. The manufacturer claims it's natural but I can't find any way of verifying this. The slab of wax arrived packaged in a durable cellophane bag which has imparted a strong plastic odour, even though I have now taken it out of the original packaging. It's solid to the touch though, and doesn't seem to soften when I handle it so that could be an indication of its purity? Personally, if you're planning to use this for hobby work and activities such as polishing furniture then you should be fine. However, I would be apprehensive about using this in cosmetics or skincare because I can't establish that it is indeed 100% natural.
5.0 out of 5 stars A good sized slab that will last me a long time.
The last big slab of pure beeswax I had was around three times this size, I used it to make small batches of wax polish for furniture projects, it only keeps for a few weeks after it's made so I only make enough for the job I'm doing.A small lump was kept in my toolbox to use on things like jamming metal zip fasteners and widow slides.Pretty much the same will happen to this one although my GF has already looked up some cosmetic recipes she wants to try so I suspect another order is on the horizon. There are all manner of things you can use this for around the home from DIY uses to aroma therapy, cosmetics and candles to household cleaning and car care.I quick search of the web will give you all kinds of ideasIt seems like good value to me for a large chunk of 100% pure beeswax, I've not seen it going any cheaper for a while.
4.0 out of 5 stars Eco Lux Beeswax 400g
This Eco Lux Beeswax block seems to be good quality although it's different to other 100% natural bees waxes I've used previously over a number of years. This Eco Lux wax is very hard and takes longer to soften and it also doesn't have the lovely smell of honey that I'm used to, it has a very faint smell that I can't describe. Is this because it's triple filtered perhaps, I honestly don't know.
5.0 out of 5 stars It'sa big chunk of beeswax
I use beeswax for both woodworking and leather crafting. This 400g slab should last me a very long time. It arrived simply packed in a resealable clear plastic ziplog bag. Inside that is the block of wax which is about the size of a chunky personal tablet. As expected it is a hard wax made from beeswax and is a very yellow colour with the expected buttery smell. I've used about 60g to make a paste wax polish which gives excellent results. I might have a dabble at candle making with some or all of the rest because it looks very suitable for that job too.<£10.00 for a 400g slab is pretty good value too
3.0 out of 5 stars Large Block
This is a decent sized block of wax at 400g that is suitable for a variety of craft jobs.It says 100% beeswax but I am a bit dubious due to the smell and texture, it smells a bit like plastic, not like other pure beeswax I have used in the past, even rubbing it between my fingers I struggled to get any sweet scent at all from it. More information regarding origin on the packaging would be helpful.I have melted some to make candles as I had the moulds, it melted as expected with no obvious lumps so I was happy with that. I would be hesitant to use in cosmetics.
Such a great product for a great price
