4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game for little kids
This is a fun game for younger children. It’s really simple to learn and easy to play. The aim is to get as many animal cards as possible with your ufo. You need a fair bit of space to play though.
5.0 out of 5 stars Much much fun was had
The objective of the game is simple. Try to collect as many cards as possible with the aliens that drop down from the sky using their slinky 'ships'. You place the included cards out on the floor and stand above them. Using your alien ships, you thrust the slinky and sticky feet towards the cards to abduct them!I was a little sceptical about how easily the cards would stick to the cards, but Goliath Games have done some wizardary to make them stick really well! Both a good thing and a bad thing as it often means the cards take a bit of effort to take off the sticky feet. The scoring of this game is the real winner here with the little ones, if old enough, being able to count and do some mental maths themselves to work out the scores. A big bonus to get some learning involved with the fun and games. It's definitely for older children, think 6+, as attempting to play this with my 4 year old just led to frustrations. We did find that sometimes the slinkies become unravelled from the ships or feet, but this was easily fixed. It also allowed for a small break to allow the boys to calm down from the abduction frenzy. The game does say that it works for 2-6 players but unsure how given there are only 3 flying saucers. May be a small typo.A solid 5 stars from me.
4.0 out of 5 stars Go go UFO
It is a fun game for 3 players - you only get 3 UFO springy things - unless you want to play in teams where each person takes a turn then swops with their team member. It’s quite easy and quick to play, although you do need a lot of floor space to spread out the pieces, and it’s best to play on carpet, otherwise the UFO can stick to the floor. We did play a game for older ones on the hard floor where you don’t get your piece if you don’t pick it up cleanly & get it stuck to the floor! It’s a lot of fun, but on the whole I think it is quite a pricey game.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not as easy as it seems
The game set is very simple and compact consisting of 3 slinky aliens, cards and manual. Once taken out of the box it does not take much space. Cards are made of good quality paper, short and simple game rules book and interesting looking plastic aliens - very well made too. Colourful game with interesting artwork. The gameSimple as it is you need to catch the cards from the floor quicker then other player until its all gone. Each card has points that you add up and the end of the game. You also pick up some question mark cards that have special ability such as extra points, swap etc. the player with most points wins. Game is design to play in teams or individually with odd or even number of player up to 6. The game seems easy but aiming at the card and making sure it sticks is not that simple. Fun and quick. Great combination of board game and exercise.
4.0 out of 5 stars Better suited for 2-3 players
Although this is advertised as 2-6 players as you only get 3 sticky slinkies it works better for just 2-3 people. You can play it a variety of ways, set a timer to get as many as possible, collect them all until done and count up points, or give each team member a type of shape and whoever gets all theirs first wins. They’re the ones we’ve done anyway, other families may think of more! The sticky slinkies pick up the cards better than I thought they would, I had images of us needing to lick them or something, but they work well! It’s a good game if you don’t have much space to set out a board and pieces and want the kids to burn off some energy too, my 6 year old was jumping all over the places to get the cards
4.0 out of 5 stars Great game
The concept is simple! players try to capture alien creatures using a hovering UFO. The UFO itself is the star of the show. It genuinely hovers and moves around unpredictably, which is always hilarious. We had a copy of this game before but lost it when moving houses, fun with little kids.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very Fun Game!
This game has quickly become a favourite in our household! This action-packed alien abduction game is perfect for kids and adults alike. The game is easy to set up and the rules are simple to follow, making it accessible for children as young as six.The gameplay is fast-paced and exciting, keeping everyone on their toes as they try to catch the UFO. The super-springy alien abduction mechanism adds a unique twist that makes the game even more fun. We love that it can accommodate 2-6 players, making it ideal for family game nights or playdates. The quality of the components is excellent, and the bright, colourful design is very appealing. It’s also great to see a game that encourages physical activity and coordination. My kids can’t get enough of it, and it’s always a hit when we have friends over.
3.0 out of 5 stars Well made but a bit repetitive after a while...
Go Go UFO is a fun but very simple game. You use the sticky UFOs to catch the cards at the bottom, which are usually positioned on the carpet or hardwood floor. The UFOs are very sticky, with three sticky pads on the bottom. They simply stick down onto the cards and pull them up as if they are being beamed up into the spacecraft. My children enjoyed playing this at first. It was a fun and catchy game, quite fast-paced with lots of inaccurate throws and a little bit of frustration thrown in for good measure. However, after a while, it does get rather repetitive, and they haven’t been reaching into the games cupboard to get it out to play again and again, unlike some of the other games we have. So, it’s okay for a novelty factor, but for longevity and as one of the games that the children will pick as their favorites, it doesn’t score very highly in my opinion.
Fun Goliath game!
I work with kids as a speech-language pathologist so a huge part of my job is using games while working on communication/social skills. I am a big fan of Goliath games and have played TONS of them over the years-- my office also has a very extensive Goliath game collection! I was excited to get to test out Go Go UFO! I though it was a cute game and well done in terms of adorable graphics on the box and game pieces-- they make it look exciting and the kids I work with were excited to try it! Players use their UFOs (basically slinkies with suction cups attached) to try and pick up cards. Cards have different values which are added up to determine your score. I love that this game requires kids to be up on their feet and involves movement. The slinky action is fun but may be too challenging for younger kids like preschoolers. There also isn't a lot to the game besides just picking up cards and then adding points. I think teachers who work on math might like that there is a math element. For other educational activities including speech therapy, task cards or pictures could be attached to the underside of each card so that when a child picks up a card, they have to perform that task. Overall this is a cute game that I'm happy to have added to my collection, it's just not my favorite among the Goliath games that I've come to love.
So much fun for kids !
My kids and I had alot of fun playing this game . We did two teams and made it a relay . The little spring that grabs the cards works really well! This game made a 9&10 year old very happy 😊
Cute family game
This is a cute family game. The instructions are very straight forward and it’s super easy to learn. It is a bit chaotic when you play it though so be prepared for lots of laughter and memories. Great value and perfect addition to family game night!
Surprisingly entertaining for kids (and adults!) of all ages!
There isn’t much to this game. You place animal cards on the floor and use little slinky UFOs to pick them up - the most points wins. Because it’s so easy, all four of our kids (youngest is 5, oldest is 12) enjoy this game and engage in play equally as well. It’s honestly hilarious to see our little “aliens” having such a blast playing. Love it!
Fast gameplay
This is really a max 3 person game, though you can play as teams. The game is simple: you use the springy ufos to suction up cards with number values on them. Once all the cards have been taken, you count up the points. There are 4 surprise cards that have either a positive or negative effect to score. The game goes quickly, and my 4 year old really likes it, though sometimes the spring pops off the ufo and you have to wind it back through.
