    This butter spreader comes packaged as a cheese tool. Build quality is fairly basic but the overall appearance is quite smart, the handle is plastic while the knife end is stainless steel. The listing says it's dishwasher safe but only the food safe symbol appears on the packaging (together with recycling symbols).One edge of the knife is serrated while the other has a series of holes, with a larger hole at the end. These allow butter to be curled off the block though in practice the butter needs to have just the right level of solidity for this to work. I wouldn't use it for buttering my toast generally but for occasions where I want swirls or waves of butter it's ideal. The handle is comfortable to hold and the compact size makes it convenient to store. I'm very happy with this butter spreader.

    I expected great things, finally a butter knife that was a dream, not with this, butter just oozes everywhere through the multiple holes in the knife no matter which way you try and hold it, its small and feels like more of a childs toy and im not even a large man! Thats just getting the butter out, now when it comes to spreading it, awful, just gouges your bread while squishing more butter between the holes. Disappointed, even the packaging labels it as a cheese knife, it might manage a babybel, but thats about it! Not recommended

    If you want a simple flat blade butter spreader the this is not it.BUT if you want to create fancy butter swirls and shapes then that is what this blade is better at
