Rapid delivery. Neat little charger, easy to set up for 6 or 12 volt batteries. Decent output ( 2, 4, or 6 amps ), strong clips and optional ring terminals if you want to leave it connected long-term, which you can because of the pulse and conditioning setting to keep your battery at it's peak.

In addition to its 12V car mode, I would like to connect (occasionally and separately) a 6V AGM battery to top it up on an occasional basis. Due to location, it needs to be connected via permanent flying leads. The widely used standard connector for this is SAE, and the diagram in the product information clearly indicates SAE connectors between the charger itself and the "O-ring" and clip-on tails. But as delivered it is fitted with Chinese connectors manufactured by a company called Ningbo. These are non-standard (see picture) and compatible connectors or extension leads are unavailable in the UK. Unless I modify the unit to SAE, thereby voiding the warranty, it will only do half of what I want it for.Verbatim response from Ring Tech Support:"... the Product manager is being a bit cagey with respect to the connector type. I don’t recognise it and haven’t used it before, to be honest I am baffled as to why they changed it. The original SAE type was perfectly adequate."Updated 20/03/2024: One other battery charger manufacturer uses essentially the same cables, and will supply them as accessories from their UK import source... but they aren't cheap! They are reasonably compatible, but from a different cable manufacturer, so there is a slight variance between pin sizes. They do work, however, with a bit of 'persuasion'. Not sure if it’s just mine, but this product has never once managed to charge any battery I have connected it to.It starts off enthusiastically, then in about 15 minutes displays an error code and stops charging.So frustrating, especially as I have missed my returns window.
