4.0 out of 5 stars My first air fryer - it's easy to use and works well for a budget price
There are no end of air fryers on the market so knowing which one to get amid all the options is confusing, especially if you're not entirely sure what you'll use it for. That's me at least. This Beko has a large capacity at 7.6Litres and this is enough to cook a roast chicken according to the description. To be honest the main reason I got one was for jacket potatoes and chips. The large capacity naturally also means it takes up a fair amount of space on the worktop, something to bear in mind for a smaller kitchen if you also have a microwave (and previous fads like a bread maker). One thing to note is that there are no accessories like liners. From my experiences, these are a MUST to make cleaning anything less than a chore.Using the presets is quite intuitive but the results were sometimes a little too overcooked for my liking. Manual mode is a bit more awkward but gives you further control. That seemed a bit silly at first but then I realised I tend to guess at the times when using the microwave to cook anything that's not a program so I guess it's a case of getting used to it.In terms of the advantages of using an air fryer, you definitely get the external crispiness that the microwave doesn't but faster than a conventional oven and with less cost from the oven preheating. A friend who has an air fryer from probably the best known brand commented that it seemed to be a little under powered. I'll take her word for it as I don't have that experience.I'm not a convert in the sense of using it to cook everything, and rarely fry food anyway but at the time of writing this is on sale for half of the recommended price so could be a bargain for someone wishing to try out air frying.

Beko Air Fryer ExpertFry FRL3374B | Black Design | Large 7.6L capacity uses no oil | Viewing Window | Touch Control Display | 9 presets, 90 min timer, Single BasketThis is a nice compact air fryer with a total of 9 preset cooking functions from standard air frying to defrosting and dehydrating. You can even bake a cake in this oven which has a pull out basket and glass door for viewing whilst cooking. The basket itself is a very good size and is also very deep so foods are not to close to the lid. It does not come with any accessories so I recommend you get some liners etc to maximise its use.To select the method of cooking you scroll through the options shown on the screen above the basket (see my video attached). First I cooked some simple crispy chicken strips which didn't take very long at all. I managed to fit a standard supermarket pizza in the basket although it was a bit of a squeeze, I initially left it in its wrapper just in case it didn't fit. I added some extra toppings and cheese and it took approx. 9 minutes to cook from fresh not frozen. It probably needed a little less time cooking than I gave it, but I forgot to take it out straight away! This air fryer is a good price and very useful item for the kitchen. Its not small, but would be especially handy for someone living in smaller accommodation such as a student, as it is capable of various different cooking methods and can also be used to bake, reheat and defrost foods.
