5.0 out of 5 stars Best
We highly appreciated the smell and taste of the coffee. This is the best Turkish coffee we have ever tasted. Once you open the can, the plastic lid helps keep the coffee fresh. It creates foam and makes our coffee time a real pleasure. We will definitely buy again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but ordinary pale-coloured coffee in unusual packaging
This can of coffee looks more like a bulk catering tin but in miniature compared to the typical packaging of grounds. But it’s actually quite a handy tin, that could be reused for other coffees or even other kitchen items afterwards, and the predominantly Turkish text could give the impression to visitors that you really know your coffees- even if you’ve just filled it with a supermarket brand after the real Turkish stuff ran out. The can is sealed, like a tin of beans, when it arrives, which makes it very easy to open, but for freshness the plastic lid doesn’t feel as airtight as other coffee bags can be, so it won’t necessarily be the freshest storage solution. Finally onto the coffee then. This extremely fine ground powder is a shade of pale brown that makes it look more like cocoa powder than coffee at first, and it doesn’t have the strongest of aromas, so your nose doesn’t tell you quickly that it’s coffee either. It’s so finely ground that it gave me slight problems in my cafetiere and it was a bit tricky to plunge, and on past experience I’m not going to put this coffee through the reusable pods of my Dolce Gusto machine because I know they really can’t cope with this super-fine ground and will end up jamming up. But there are plenty of ways to make this coffee without the fineness of it being an issue. After all that, the differences in the taste of coffee end up being fewer in number than the differences in the packaging or appearance of the grounds. It’s a strong coffee with a clear caffeine kick in it, and it’s very drinkable. Unsurprisingly given the pale colour of the grounds it gives quite a pale coffee, but the flavour is medium rather than pale, and it certainly gives you a bit of a lift. It takes milk really well, especially oat milk. But ultimately, the overall taste and experience doesn’t distinguish itself as much as I’d hoped from regular UK-brand and supermarket-brand coffees. It is, overall, not as exotic as it looks or sounds. At nine quid for a 250ml can, it was interesting to try, and I’ll re-use the can. But a more distinctive flavour was needed, without which I can’t give this five stars.
