4.0 out of 5 stars OK ear pads to add some thickness
These do indeed add extra thickness which is good if you find that the standard pads are a bit thin. This also changes the angle, which again I know some people struggle with on the M50X headphones. The pricing is good and these also come with a pry tool to make removal of existing easier / adding new easier. What I did find however is that these reduced audio quality and bass richness, this will be due to the angle, materials, thickness and other factors that contribute to audio. As such I took them off again as they were not to my audio liking unfortunately.
4.0 out of 5 stars Average, you get what you pay for
Pros- well made- good materials- not a bad price- fits a few headphones if you wanna try them on a few pairsCons- average PU quality- took me putting them on M40X before they loosened up enough to stretch over the T50RP- just doesn't quite have the quality I think people have come to expectI have a few different headphones. I decided to try them on the M40X and the T50RP MKIII. I really didn't like them on the M40X. I think the drivers just end up too far away from your ears and the foam isn't a soft plush memory foam that flattens down but pops out after it. It's a decent foam but it doesn't feel anything special. I guess the price reflects this.On the T50RP I think they're manageable. You do lose the sound as again, the drivers just end up too far away and the foam doesn't give way enough to just nudge the drivers closer to your ears. This will wear in though, so they'll hopefully get a bit closer. The snare in most tracks just loses any umph. From metal, rock, EDM, rap, hip hop. Just loses that thwack when the snare is mixed like that. It can enhance some snares in the mix though if they aren't mixed with that umph. It's all really mix dependant. You might hate some tracks through these but find others just balanced a bit better depending on the frequencies your hearing can hear.Pads are so subjective, but I think if you're really into your audio, these won't suffice. If you're just after some slanted pads and don't mind too much about how the music will be affected. Then for the price, you can't go wrong when the holy grails for the T50RP are like 70 quid.Worth a try since they go on so many.It did take me putting them on the M40Xs for a couple of days before they loosened up and were able to go on to the T50RP for me. At least I didn't want to over stretch or push them that far at first. But they do fit on both. They also heat up as per any full 'leather' set tends to but I'm quite warm naturally so your mileage might vary. For the price, 4 star. But if these were to compete in the 20+ market I'd have to give them a 2 or 3 star.
Adequate for K371
The angle on K371 is a bit too pronounced for my taste, it slightly (and constantly) pushes behind the ears ; although I got those at half-price and for that saving I can live with that slight discomfort. Installing them on K371 without pulling too hard on them was pretty difficult.
Comfortable, good for larger ears or ear angle
> Ear Pads Replacement for ATH M50X M40X M30X / Turtle Beach Recon 50 / Stealth 600 700 520 Series/Razor Blackshark V2 X/HyperX Cloud Series Headset by MMOBIEL (~$12)The Good: Comfortable, larger than most stock pads. I wore these for a few hours and there was no ear contact to the drivers, and my (slightly larger) ears fit inside completely. Can be rotated to angle headband where you like and it holds in place better than normal. Decent isolation with closed-back phones. The Bad: Slightly warm (physically). Loses a little volume. If you have larger ears or they stick out farther, these are an upgrade in every way from stock. Couple more points of volume will even it all out. I stretched out my ATH-M50x headband a bit to lessen the ear pressure, and these pads also help hold the phones in place better than normal.
Jut, jut
Good for my Sennheiser 280 HD PRO but not as comfortable as the original
For the price they are good to replace the old one. They are not as comfortable as the original one. With an angle, it is not quite comfy.
