The price at time of purchase was £29.69. For less than £30, this is a crackerjack little device. I can't comment on battery life yet, but might update this review later.Pros:- Was fully charged and ready to go- Easy to navigate- Easy to connect to computer -- icon popped right up, with no searching or hassles- Easy to connect to bluetooth speaker- Easy to add music, just copy and paste- Fits in a shirt pocket- Includes double-end auxilliary cable, which I find convenient for plugging into speaker (no need to keep worrying about charge level)- Large capacity- Files transferred rather quickly- Plays m4a files! I just dragged and dropped multiple songs from my iTunes list into a folder, then loaded onto device! No need to convert to mp3! YAY! Actually, could probably just copy and paste straight onto device.- Shows album artwork- Can add a playlist folder to the main directory, then add that folder to a playlist- Pairs with car bluetooth (Caveat: I have two old cars. It worked in one but not the other.)- Has an equalizer- Has a sleep timer and a power off timer- Sound quality is decent through headphones or bluetooth speaker- The built-in speaker isn't bad for such a tiny thing. Handy for checking out songs, etc.- Radio sounds fantastic (used my own headphones). When you autotune, some of the stations it seems to tune are static, but mostly they are clear. And it will save 30 stations! It's a bit confusing when saving a station and then going back to the player. That will make sense when you try it. And I had to tap a few things to figure out how to turn the radio off. But the radio is great. This could be really useful when camping or on a run, etc.- Great for having music separate from phone. When I'm playing music, I don't want phone calls coming through.- Great priceCons:- Might not connect to your car- Text/menus very small. I have to use magniflying glasses to read it. But this is a tiny device, so that's sort of a given.- On some things, you have to click around a bit to get the function to do what you want. Maybe I'm just not doing it right- No Home button. You have to keep tapping the Back button to get to the main screen.- When playing a song, then going to another screen, music can't be stopped from the other screen. Like with going home, you have to keep tapping back, then go into menu and select Now Playing in order to turn off music. But this is only relevant when messing around with the player. Not really an issue once you hit play and leave it alone.- Screen turns off very quickly (can set to 10, 20, or 30 seconds or stay on constantly). When it turns off, you have to touch the power button and then swipe up. It's only two steps, but it's annoying.- Has only 3 playlists and, as far as I can tell, you can't rename them. However, a work-around is to upload a folder with a batch of songs, then on main screen, open Folders and start playing the songs. When that batch is done, it won't move on to the next folder or playlists, it will just repeat the folder you're in, but at least you can add more playlists.- Built-in speaker is on back, so it gets muffled when the device is laying down. Not sure how you'd make it stand up. Not really relevant, as most people will use headphones or bluetooth speaker.- I ordered the black version, and the description photo shows a black case/protector, but what I received was an ugly grey one.Summary:Overall, for 30 quid, you can't go wrong. Someone stole my iPhone and I can't afford to buy another one. Actually, I'm never going to buy another iPhone again. It's ridiculous money for something so easily lost. And my iPod recently died (which is why I was using my iPhone as a music player). Ohhh, the agony! I miss the iPod so much! WHY were they discontinued??? I digress.I'm happy with this little player as a replacement for the iPod and iPhone. It can be a little niggly trying to figure it out, and some things aren't very intuitive (like setting the date), but that's sort of fun, isn't it? Playing around with a new toy and getting it to work. It's kind of a throw-back. Feels a bit 15-years-ago, but, as a middle-aged person pining for the old days, I'm ok with that.In conclusion, I didn't expect much, especially for a cheap electronic device, but, given that I couldn't afford anything more right now, I didn't have a lot of choice. As it turns out, I'm pleased as punch.

I bought this for my young nephew for his birthday, at the time the price was £27.49I wanted something that could play audio books, had Bluetooth and didn't have WIFI as I didn't want something with internet connection.This ticked both boxes while also being good value.It came nicely packaged with all the items listed in the description.Its compact and the gel protector case doesn't make it bulky at all.The technology is as you would expect for the price.The touch screen functionality and GUI are adequate, it displays a grid of pre installed apps on the screen which you can select with the touch screen. ( I didn't see an option to add any additional Apps).Setting up playlists can be tricky as it only supports the 3 pre-setup playlists but once you get the hang of it its straight forward. You can access files directly in the folder system to play them too.It has all the functionality listed in the description but I didn't try them all out.I was only interested in the Bluetooth capability and MP3 player which both worked well.I was able to connect my Bluetooth headphones with no issue and the sound quality was good.You can connect the player to your PC and it acts like an external storage device.You just copy and paste your files/folders into the existing folders on the device.The integrated 64gb capacity is more than adequate for storing mp3 filesOne of the apps listed on the screen was for ebooks which I tried out but only supports plain text files so it doesn't support epub, mobi, pdf etc.When I gave it to my Nephew he tried out the Radio functionality and was very happy with it.Overall I think, for the price, its good value and would recommend it for a budget MP3 player.

I love this cute looking MP3 player. It's good quality and the sound is great (although not so much with the earphones that it comes with, I used my own). It's really easy to use and dry up with music and audio books, the instructions aren't great but it's fairly straight forward. So far the battery has lasted really well, I've not had to charge it yet since the first time. Overall I'd say this is really good value for money.

Product looked good, felt solid and although the screen was a little difficult to work due to it's size, I managed to get it up and running quite quickly. Windows Media Player recognised it straight away and I easily synched a couple of albums on to the Mechen. Feeling very pleased with myself, I plugged in the headphones to sample the sound quality. Or rather I didn't. The screen said 'File Format Not Supported'.Oh dear. Being somewhat computer stupid I had no idea how to re-format the music files; and why would/should I? my old Sony walkman used to synch easily. So, it looked like I was never going to make this thing compatible with Windows (WTF!). After a cup of tea and a custard cream, I sat down again and synched a couple of more albums just to make sure. And, you know what? They played perfectly. Tried a few more....some would play, others wouldn't. So, nothing to do with a File Format, more to do with a dodgy product. Sent it straight back the next day.

It’s pretty amazing what you get for the price.I have a lot of older iPods, classics, touches and shuffles. I love my iPods, but the classics are dated since they have no Bluetooth, and even the touches that have Bluetooth aren’t compatible with my new car stereo. Plus battery life on all of them is dwindling to nothing. So I was looking for something affordable (cheap) that wasn’t a piece of junk. I did a ton of research here, and read all the reviews. For the cost this was the one that seemed to have the best bang for your buck. And I was right, it’s got great usable features and it’s solidly built. Very impressive at this price point. They even throw in a silicone protective case, which I love. It’s small so the case makes it easier to grip and not drop. It has a touch screen, although small but I’d rather have a a small unit then a large screen. It has really good sound quality and 64g of internal storage plus it’s expandable with a SD card. It holds an huge library of music with just the 64g and if you have more you can use the SD card. It also pairs with my new Kenwood car stereo with current Bluetooth compatibility.So ok, right there these features already have the old iPods beat by a long shot. And for the price… if I drop it, lose it, it gets stolen, etc I’m not out a couple hundred bucks. At first I was frustrated it just would not pair with my car stereo. So I got another cheap one here and it had the same issues, and the second one I got was just plastic junk compared to this one! But eventually it paired, and while pairing it, I figured out a way to pair this one. Was really a matter of powering this unit and my car stereo on and off until it was recognized. Ya it was hard at first and probably more user error than anything since this car stereo is brand new to me, but once it found it, it’s locked in. I can power off the player and turn my truck off and when I turn it back on they pair automatically without having to do anything in a matter of seconds!I’m totally impressed with this.So much that right after I’m done writing this, I’m buying another one.Oh, and I contacted customer service for a few tips and they are excellent in response time and helpfulness.
Great product with the right expectations
For $30, it's hard to go wrong with this. I'm able to drag and drop music from iTunes with no problems. If you do a little effort to make sure the metadata is what you want it to be, moving the files over will work as-desired.I don't make playlists. Can you? I think, but you have to do it with the player and that is time-consuming. I assign genres and use genres as my playlists.Is the UI clunky? Yeah. If you go deep into menus you have to manually back your way every level. There's not a quick "home" to start you over. Sorry. Want to be able to read the screen in daylight? Sorry. You're screwed.This thing connects easily to all of my bluetooth devices. It plays music. It's light and small. Also, it's $30. If you don't like figuring out how to make a player like this work for you, buy something more expensive. Don't like the "limited" storage capacity? I dunno. It holds a ton of files. Maybe store files on multiple microsd cards and pretend you're making mixtapes for your ex-gf who broke up with you for a guy who's capable of beating Zelda without the cheat codes.
