5.0 out of 5 stars This is simply a great bit of inexpensive kit
I upgraded my WiFi Hub to a newer better one provided by my service provider, but wasn't informed that as well as all the improvements it offered, that there was one less port on the back. As a result a had one less device that I could use over a wired connection, and already had an issue on this front, as some things simply work better if they are connected to the Hub via an Ethernet cable.I was looking to see if I could find some sort of two way splitter, when I saw this and some similar products. This one was the most reasonably priced of comparative products, and it works even better than I expected. Set-up is so simply, you connect to the power. Plug one Ethernet cable into this and the other into an Ethernet port at the back of your router, and you instantly have 4 additional wired connections to your router. There is no need to disconnect or connect anything to use it, devices connected to this splitter can be used in the same way as if connected directly to the Wifi Hub. I have been using it for some time now, and have not noticed any impact on speed. If none of the devices plugged into this are in use, you can switch it off (at the mains, no power switch) and use the Router normally. This is simply a great bit of inexpensive kit, that not only solved a problem, but improved the situation.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ordered in 2019... still going in 2024!
I have been using this switch constantly for YEARS in multiple different set ups. From in my loft, to my room, to my office. Now, its in a gaming man cave. Its so simple with multiple WAN / LAN slots that are interchangeable. Doesn't loose any speed on my 100MBps network.Excellent and durable.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works great
This extender works well. I live in a bungalow with thick walls and this product has really enhanced the quality of the WiFi
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant but flawed.
I purchased this Mercusys MT110 4g dongle at the beginning of October as my existing one decided to expire without warning.First impressions, it's big! Approx 11cms wide,7cms high and 2.5cms deep, not really pocket friendly, unlike my last one which was half the size. The set-up was straight forward and involves downloading an app (QR code provided) next you enter the unique passcode, which is tiny and printed on the bottom of the unit. I ended up photographing it, then expanding the image in order to see it properly. After that everything was straightforward, and gives you the chance to rename the unit/network and more importantly set a pass code. Other features in the app you can check the speed and battery life, see how much data has been used along with add/remove or temporarily block other devices. Also update any firmware as it's released. There is an auto power off (timer) and you can adjust the range. The unit arrived fully charged, ready to go, so no waiting for it to charge up which from 10% to full takes approx 1hr. Using a usb lead to tether it to a laptop will keep it charging whilst you work.Given my rural location the speed was impressive around 30-50Mbps. Which is enough to hook-up my TV, Alexa, 3 wi-fi cameras, laptop, tablet and phone! Although the TV does buffer if I use my laptop at the same time, understandable given all the other devices I have tethered in the background but that's probably down to my location, wi-fi signal than the actual unit.Battery life seems accurate, approx 10hrs tethered to my phone or laptop, between 6-8hrs if I'm using my TV for streaming.Con's: No getting away from the size even though it only weights 120g. The charging port is in the middle of the SIM slot and the power button, several times I've accidentally ejected the SIM card or powered the unit off whilst trying to insert the the mini-A charging cable. It would be nice if the charging port was the more common "C". The exposed nature of the SIM slot could lead to dirt ingress. The 3 function lights on the front of the unit are also tiny and only really visible at night or in a dark situation.Overall impression... Despite its (over) size the MT110 is impressive, powerful enough to tether several devices at the same time and still have enough battery life. I would rate this unit a solid 8/10 however, the design of the charging port next to the SIM slot and power button let's it down. All that said, I would recomend this unit based on price/performance.
5.0 out of 5 stars MERCUSYS Wi Fi Extender
Easy to set up unlike some other models. Good signal strength. Very good value for money
5.0 out of 5 stars Really pleased 👍🏻
Changing network provider proved more inconvenient than we thought, so no internet for 10 days until the road outside is dug up and fibre fixed! 😤 Needed WiFi for the home for smart TV's, mobile phones etc... bought this with a SMARTY SIM card unlimited date for £15 and bingo! TV connected, mobiles etc... netflix, Bolo everything working 👍🏻 great little device!
3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, with one quibble
I bought this to extend the Mesh network I already had to a corner of the house, which had a poor signal.Setup was straightforward and quick and I soon was getting 100Mbps on Speedtest, so no issues there. One thing that I am struggling with is that the network on the extender is separate to the main one and so has to be specifically connected to.With an older, slower extender I could name the network the same as the main one, which meant connection was seamless. Not a big issue and performance seems as good as I hoped.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price
Great for the price, defo worth it. £8, and now have 10x stronger and faster wifi in my bedroom.
like it
This is not easy to set up if you are on frontier router. I worked on this for about 6 hours to get it running. First of all, if you are some what tech. smart or know what question to ask you will have problems. I tried resetting router and this device many times. I talk to support only to be cut off in 3 minutes by no reply on their end. But, I was able to figure out that you have a computer and cell on wifi. They will cancel out your cell. So, I install it by the computer. Which that fixed the problem. The other thing to be careful about when ask you to create password for this device use your wifi password. By created your own you will be locked out of device. With that all said don't go by signal strength. This not reliable, I had no bars and was sitting in car at least 6 feet away and was getting on tik tock and according to my phone it should not be working. My main reason I needed an extend was I could get calls in my shop. So I will be doing more experimenting with this thing. Just wanted to write this before I forgot about it. So hopeful this will help some one.I am adding to this. I had this for over a week and it is working great. I really don't understand how it works. When I am beside it I have 2 bars but when I am about 25' from it in my car I am now get 3 bars. So it I am happy with
