Aimed at small (to possibly medium) sized businesses, this machine gives a simple low cost clocking-in solution to help both employers and employees keep their hours in check. No monthly license or upkeep outside of the initial device purchase and the electricity to run it. The machine in essence hosts a cutdown Excel software acting as a writable database that is populated from and exported to an Excel file that keeps track of times in and out and also hosts the registered user list.The registered user list can be populated via the included USB flash drive on a computer and then loaded up to the clock-in machine or the user can be setup and registered directly on the machine…registering the details to the Excel file. Three options for registering, either fingerprint, PIN number or RFID card. Each method works well but for convenience most will prob go for fingerprint…it is after all always on you lol.Only seems to work however with RFID cards provided by HapAttend…attempting to scan my own ID card used for work (a standard MIFARE Classic card) and the internal chip of the card could not be detected, which just contains a read-only serial number.While listed as suitable for up to 500 users, I would say this is more suitable for lower numbers (of less than say 50 users) as larger number of users would benefit from a centrally hosted solution.Would be good for small family run businesses that don’t always run set 9-5 hours.

This clocking in/ out machine works out of the box. It is supplied with a UK 3 pin plug which also serves as an AC/DC converter. The plug is CE marked. The machine is made of a fairly lightweight and gloss plastic. It is designed to attach to the wall, handing on two countersunk screws (provided). The machine is self contained so you can set up users on the machine itself - no need for an external computer/ website etc. The menu is fairly intuitive, except there are times when you expect to press the OK key, but you need to press escape. It is easy to set up new users using RFID, fingerprint or password. 5 RFID cards are provided. I found the RFID option worked best, the fingerprint reader beeped a lot and tended to double count, but it did work. A USB A memory stick is supplied and you can download the attendance records - choosing your own period - as an excel file onto the memory stick.Having said that the functionality of the device is OK, I wanted to reassure myself that it is compliant with EU/ UK regulations. The only relevant markings I could find were a CE mark on the plug and on the box. These were pretty meaningless however, as there were no UK or European company representative addresses, hence the reduction in my mark.

The clocking-in machine has streamlined attendance tracking in our small business. Employees find it easy to use, and the fingerprint recognition is quick and accurate. The device automatically calculates hours, which has saved us a lot of time compared to manual tracking. We’ve been using it for a few months now, and it’s been very reliable with no major issues. The lack of monthly fees is a huge bonus. Installation was straightforward, and it doesn’t require a constant internet connection, which ensures data privacy.

I've yet to install this as I am in the process of setting up my business but I have done some testing on this machine and I am quite impressed with the included functionality. To start with, it feels like a well made machine and it looks very good. It can be wall mounted (with screws included and a good solid back mount) or you can have it stood on a desk.The screen is easy to read and the comprehensive booklet is easy to understand and I could set this clocking in machine up quite quickly and easily. I was expecting it to be difficult, but it wasn't. I really like the clocking-in options. There is fingerprint recognition, RFID card reader or password/number input. All seem to work okay. The functionality of the unit is also good with various time options available.Data transfer is done by a USB stick, and they supply one in the box. I would have liked to have seen network data transfer but this will do. I've yet to consider how to use the data in other software for wages but I will work that out in the future. The data is saved as CSV files.When I ordered this, its price was around £150 which is a bit expensive compared to others, however it is now retailing at around £90 which is a lot more comparable to others and I think that this is actually pretty good value considering all the various clocking-in choices that you have.Once my business is up and running and this is in daily use I will update this review further with my findings, however for now with my (somewhat) limited testing, I'm happy to recommend it.

Simple machine to monitor and records.Nice colour display to show menu and time.Easily export to USB for transferring or backup.Could do both RFD card and finger prints- with recording voices for confirmation ( a bit robotic )Slightly chunkier in size.Useful where time keeping and attendance are essential, in a simple spreadsheet.Wifi would be nice for backup or updates.Similarly, perhaps a touchscreen rather that menu+up/down+OK button.
