4.0 out of 5 stars Ball and ice tray
This has been so handy during the hot weather for my dog.I have used the ice tray to make ice balls from things like goats milk or gravy and my dog loves them.I also put one inside the ball and compact it with other small ice cubes. My dog then takes it in the garden and enjoys licking and trying to open the ball to get the ice out. It's well made and an enjoyable exercise for dogs, using their senses to get to the flavoured ice.I will keep using the ice cube tray as you can add the cubes to the water bowl. And the ball will be on standby for the next round of warm weather.
5.0 out of 5 stars A high quality brain game type dog toy
Very well made from sturdy rubber my dog has so far been unable to dent this with her teeth. It is one of those things made to hold treats and captivate (read tease) your dog iinto attempting too get the items out.Has strong nylon woven band attached to one half and is quite heavy so if your dog is a 'chucker' beware of where you let them play with it. The mentioned two halves twist together and remain closed quite firmly.Recommended dog toy.
2.0 out of 5 stars Comes apart too easily
My dog can get the lid off this which kinda defeats the object.
4.0 out of 5 stars Tough. Works with larger treats. Freezer treat mould not very useful
The treat ball itself is really tough. As mentioned in the listing, it can be quite difficult twisting the lid section on & off, especially after I'd run it through the dishwasher before first use, so I followed their advice to add a little oil, which did work, though the effect of it wears off quickly and you'll need to add more. Though it's difficult to twist without oil, we have had it come apart a couple of times during play - probably because I'd not managed to twist it fully when closing it up.The dog does love this, and I put a couple of fish skin cubes in, most of which fit through the large hole, but only just, so there's some effort and challenge involved. You do need to pick (or break) treats with this in mind, as the treat hole is quite big, and many treats will fall out too easily. Aside from allowing water to drain and the scent of treats to emanate from the ball, the smaller holes serve no purpose (unless you put tiny treats in and blocked the larger hole). It's quite heavy, so be aware of this if you have a dog like ours who likes to use people to bounce it off or throws it down the stairs to dislodge the contents! The listing images suggest that the mould size exactly matches the toy - it doesn't. I'm not quite sure of its purpose. If it fitted exactly, then I could give the dog the open toy with the frozen food inside, and let her slowly work through it (I do often freeze rubber toys packed with wet food, but this does tie up the toy until it's frozen). I wouldn't want to close it up, as she wouldn't be able to get to the food until it was defrosted, and we'd end up with wet food all over the floor. However, the frozen treat you get from the mould is significantly smaller than the inside of the ball, so it doesn't seem to belong to it as a set at all. I did put the frozen food inside the toy for her, and it did slow her consumption of it, as she couldn't reach in to take it out in one go, so it's not entirely useless, but I'm not really sure it's needed. The ball is very good, tough, and the dog loves it.
3.0 out of 5 stars A strong chew toy but doesn't function well with treats.
This is a very tough toy so great if you just want a ball toy for your dog to play with/chew. But it doesn't work with treats. The instructions suggest that you use the mould provided to prepare a frozen treat for the ball. This fits in the ball but as soon as it starts to melt the treat just rolls around in the ball and your dog can't reach it - much frustration. If you put smaller treats in the ball they just all fall out very quickly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Strong and Solid Toy
This Dog Toy feels very strong and sturdy. It is easy to unscrew the top and fill it with suitable Dog treats of your choice then with the top back on, he’ll have hours of fun! There is a tough rope handle too to throw the ball a distance making it a whole new game! Included in the set are some silicone moulds for you to make up your own treats, you can freeze Dog food or treats in them ready to pop in the toy. Easy to clean both the silicone mould and the toy, they can be washed with soap and water in the sink, or even put in the dishwasher if you are so inclined. Personally I’ll be washing by hand in the sink!!! A great toy made of strong rubber that will withstand a very vigorous and energetic chewing from a Dog, and the toy will, in my opinion, last a very long time and which I am happy to recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Idea
The media could not be loaded. We thought our dog would have loved this one, but it seems not. He just didn’t seem interested in it at all. We have toys that treats fall out and I think he thought this was going to be along the same lines. We’ve kept it to the side for now, we’ll try him again during summer and throw it in the garden to play with frozen treats, maybe the warmer weather will be more inviting for him.Construction of the toy is really nice though. Have no problems letting him play with it as a larger dog and even smells quite nice out of the box.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good idea
Very robust toy and will be great for the hot weather with the lollies inside.Decent value.
