Holds a lot of wax, heats to the selected temperature and goes into insulation/standby mode. It does take a little while for the wax to fully melt (around 45-60 minutes for kerasoy wax), but that isn’t an issue for me. Have used it 3-4 times so far and it’s still working which is a good sign! Great wax melter, glad I bought it.

    Purchased for a group candle making session:- does as it says - very good, fairly priced.I have used it about 5 times now and so far continues to perform. Wax inside & around the tap needs a little longer or a bit of encouragement to melt :-)

    THE MELTER THERMOMETER HEATS BOYOND WHAT THE TEMPERATURE DIAL IS SET TO, SO THE WAX BURNS AND IS NO LONGER GOOD FOR USE. THE INTERNAL DRUM IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL, AS SPECIFIED AND THE INNER SECTION PAINT IS PEELING AWAY LEAVING A BLACK RESIDUE FLOATING AROUND THE MOLTEN WAXINSIDE. NOT SUITABLE FOR PURPOSE

    My sisters have been getting involved in events for schools and charities. One of the things they started doing was candles. This wax melter made things soo much easier. With its generous 6L capacity, it saved a lot of time. The melter has a temperature control on the side.Ensure the container is dry before pouring in the wax then stir the wax every 2 or 3 minutes for a few seconds until fully melted. Pouring the wax was easy and safe. Cleaning is a little tricky and time consuming. We poured water in, heated the water until the wax melted and flouted to the surface. Turned off the heat and waited a bit. With the spoon provided, we tied a cloth to the end and used that to clean the side. Then emptied the water out. Finally we dried it with a dry cloth.

    At the end of the day, a wax melter is simply a container with a heating element in it. So, to see smaller volume melters at much higher prices is disappointing. This one is extremely good value and comes well packed with a fancy spoon, transparent lid so you can see what's going on and a tap to drain the contents into your containers. What more do you need? This does the job perfectly well and won't break the bank.
