4.0 out of 5 stars Relaxing but need longer to see results from red light therapy

    M.R. · 30 June 2024

I was lucky to be able to try this scalp massager which is the newer model and not only massages the scalp but also emits infra red light to help stimulate the follicles for hair growth and strength.Strangely, it doesn't seem to mention the red light benefits or even that it has this function on the listing - but it does have this. You can add oils to this brush and it will release small amounts of oil as you use it up to 3ml in total (do not overload it as it may leak!) and I used some Batana oil in mine which I apply in the shower after my conditioner as this model is also waterproof. The brush massaging head has small plastic bristles and I think I would have preferred a softer rubber on the ends rather than the coated plastic as it felt, perhaps, a bit scratchy? Bear in mind everyone is different though so some people have more delicate scalps than others.I found it fairly pleasing to use - not as spine tingling as those manual metal head massagers , but then it's designed to do more than just be a relaxing tool.My husband who suffers an itchy scalp and oily has also been using it (without the oils) for the past few weeks and he has enjoyed it. It's loosened off his flaky scalp and whether or not the red light will help stave off future flaky skin will be something we need to try for a while yet.So my review is based on immediate effects of relaxment and also potential future effects.I personally didn't think it worth the price tag but if the red light does stimulate growth and keep my hair thick and healthy during menopause then I would consider it worth the money. Will update when I've tried it for longer 🤞

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent scalp massager

Item received in a very nice and well packaged branded box. This is a hair brush but really it way more than that and it really is a scalp massager. The item is a very good size and the handle feels comfy to hold and use. This comes with 3 different massage modes and it works by all the bristles of the brush moving in and outward like hundreds of little tiny fingers massaging your scalp.I have a bald/shaved head and I actually find that this works brilliant for me as no hair to get in the way at all. It has red light technology too and the winner is the fact you can add oils to this and it will work this into your hair/scalp at the same time as massaging. It really stimulates your scalp in a very lovely way which is calming and relaxing and I have used an oil to help with dryness that I suffer from with my scalp exposed to the elements. Now all my other girls in our family have also all been using this and they all have long hair and so they have had more use of the brush part. The brush works ok but that's it for the brush, its nothing special to brush your hair with but it is amazing to massage your scalp and apply oils.

    Feels really nice

This is an excellent scalp massager. It is only skin deep, and while it does feel very relaxing, this won't massage muscles. That said, it definitely is going to help increase blood flow to your scalp, it feels amazing and I didn't have any problems with getting hair tangled. I think it might be a little more challenging for people with curly hair, since I did need to brush the massager over my scalp, as well the oil dispenser is not going to dispense if you don't roll it over your scalp. The oil dispenser only holds 3ml of oil which seems like very little but it was two droppers full of my rosemary oil so it’s actually plenty. If you use it for the full 10 minutes it will use up all the oil, but if there’s still some oil left over the compartment is completely leakproof. As tempting as it is, definitely don’t turn it back on after the 10 min auto shut-off as it will irritate your scalp, and the device gets really hot. The battery lasts a good long time since I’ve been using it every couple days for about 2 weeks and haven’t charged it at all yet. The device has red light in it but it doesn’t have a whole lot of info about it so it’s hard to say if it’s strong enough to actually do anything for your hair growth. It’s also completely water proof making it super easy to clean and you can use it in the shower if you want. I find that it really loosens up any dead skin and oils on the scalp so it can end up looking like I have dandruff after using it, so using it in the shower makes my scalp feel really clean and I don’t have to worry about it looking gross. I am usually able to just brush most of it out though so it’s not a big deal either way.Overall, a luxury item that feels really nice and can help to promote hair growth by stimulating the scalp and applying oils.

    Bon produit

    Curly Hair Review!

    J. · 2 September 2024

My hair is made up of very tight curls, but it is also very fine hair. Unfortunately, as I get older, I am finding it gets thinner and thinner. What I can say about this scalp massager is that it does not get stuck in my curls like I somewhat expected. The massager doesn't spin, the bristles are firm and go up & down only - no movement that would tangle in hair. Red light therapy has become a very popular trend these days, so I'm hoping the combined usage between red light therapy and scalp massage to stimulate blood flow will help grow back some hair. Unfortunately, as anyone with curly hair knows, we can't just brush our hair every morning and easily re-style it; this means I am not using the scalp massager daily because lord knows I will not be messing up my curls every day. I use this the night before hair-wash day and shortly before showering. I like the fact that it can be filled with oils/serums that also help with hair growth and strength, but it is a pain to wash it out after each use. It is also noted on the listing not to use thick oils at the risk of clogging the machine. Given the very expensive price tag, I am kind of terrified of clogging it and ruining it...Overall, I'm not noticing any damage to my hair or scalp, but it's also too soon to notice any results either. I'll continue using it, I just don't know if it will give the same results to someone with curls - who won't use it daily - as it would for someone who can just brush their hair to style it and fix the mess the massager makes.
