5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet, compact and RGB
During the hotter summer days its not that uncommon to have very dry air, especially in the southern parts of the UK. For certain personal reasons I am a stiffer for good quality air, so I always want to keep the air humidity at just the right level so this humidifier is great for raising the humidity when the air gets too dry. This little humidifier is great - its very quiet, quite compact, making it easy to store in many places and also comes with RGB lights that can add to the ambience of your home. The dehumidifier uses at most 30W of power so its not expensive to run, even if you have it on all day long.Using it is very simple and self explanatory, though if you struggle the dehumidifier does come with an instruction manual.Overall, I think this is a nice little humidifier that does the job. Would recommend!
5.0 out of 5 stars So easy to use!
I really love this humidifier! I actually haven't used any essential oils with it, due to pets in the house, but in terms of providing a nicer sleeping environment with just the water mist, it does a great job. It's compact, easy to use, and doesn't look too obtrusive in the room. Would recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good humidifier, but very high PM2.5 readings when using it
This review is for "Homvana Humidifiers for Bedroom 1.8 L Top-Fill Cool Mist Humidifier for Baby Nursery Plants Kids Home, 3-in-1 Diffuser with Night Light, Auto Mode, Esserntial Oil, BPA Free, 30H Working Time."This is a nice humidifier with the great feature of having a large water tank. This means it can run for more than a day without needing refilling. There is a strong flow of mist when it is switched on, and the lid can be rotated to direct the mist away from any furniture or walls etc. I like the timer feature too, so it can be set to stay on for 3h, 6h, 9h or continuously until it runs out of water. There are various coloured nightlights too which is nice for a child's bedroom. In operation it is quiet, no more than an air filter in quiet mode.My principle concern is that when using the humidifier, the PM2.5 particle reading from my air quality monitor are ready extremely high levels. Apparently this is normal for ultrasonic humidifiers, which are liberating the calcium salts in the water as PM2.5 particles. I'm not sure I would want that happening if I used this in my child's bedroom - this can be cut by the use of distilled water but I could not find any research into the long term effects of exposure to airborne calcium salts through the use of ultrasonic humidifiers. Maybe for now its best for me not to use it in a bedroom. As a humidifier it works well, however the PM2.5 readings have me spooked a bit, so I cannot rate it five stars - it will have to be four. The price at the time of review was around £30 which is fair value for a large capacity model.
5.0 out of 5 stars Decent relief for my dry eyes
This is a nicely packaged and well made humidifier. It is easy to fill and produces mist in no time at all. I suffer from dry eyes and was advised to start using a humidifier to see if it would help, I use eye drops 3 - 4 times a day and any additional moisture to stop my eyes drying out any further is good. The humidifier can be set to run for different times in units of 3 hours, when turned on it does produce a noise (which is to be expected) but it isn't too much of a distraction.I do find the alternate lighting options a bit of a gimmick but do understand that other may find that this helps them to relax so I can see why the options are there.Fragrance oils can be used but I don't bother, I have read that it is very important to keep these clean to avoid bacteria and mould being put into the air.It is too early to say if it is helping with my dry eyes but I don't find it an unpleasant method of treatment so will keep going.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for bedrooms
Inside the box was the humidifier itself, a power cable with UK plug, instruction booklet and cleaning brush.Really easy to use, just add water up to the Max line. You could add something like menthol to really help clear the sinuses at night. Once filled the centre unit which guides the atomised liquid is held in place by magnets at an intentional angle (apparently this helps the production of vapour). It has really intiuitive buttons allowing a selection of 'strengths' of vapour and different light options so it can be used as a bit of a night light (or off). For the price it's not a bad product that does the job.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well-made, decent home product...
Picked this up on behalf of the other-half... She likes fancy smelling things (perhaps not such a fan myself!) and rates this most highly! The humidifier starts up pretty quickly and puts out a good visible mist. There's a little part for you to put drops of essential oils into if required and the lighting also sets the scene delightfully if you feel like getting all romantic...I'd personally find the pump sound a little irritating to sleep with - but it is admittedly very quiet. Most people would likely class it as a sleep-aid or white noise. For the price and how well-made the device is (good solid plastic!) I'd happily recommend.
