It's not easy to write a thorough review of an item that is this expensive and is not even legal on public space in the UK but I will do my best to give it a fair review. The scooter arrived in a fairly compact box. There is a handy unboxing video from the manufacturer by the way. The box is very clever and it's made of cardboard entirely. I don't remember coming across any single use plastic during my unboxing. The scooter arrives in a folded state and unfolding is part of the initial setup which was fun. After unfolding and turning on the user is encouraged to connect the scooter to a smartphone app and update the firmware. The process was easy enough but communication could be better during the update process. Updating firmware is always unnerving as if something goes wrong you can easily brick your device. After the firmware was updated nothing happened and an L letter appeared on the screen of the scooter. For a few minutes I didn't know what to do, as I was afraid to exit the update window on my phone and there were no instructions on how to proceed. After waiting a few minutes I pressed the back button and got back to the home screen where it was explained to me that the scooter now was locked and I need to set up a pin to unlock it. I also needed to confirm my email address during the process. It seems secure enough, but a bit clearer communication would have been better.Once the firmware was updated I tried inflating the tyres. They even provide a pump with the scooter which is nice. Too bad the pump itself is rubbish and it's really hard to get a reading from it. It was such a faff, that we decided to throw that aside and get out our own bicycle pump from the garage which made quick work out of inflating the tyres. Let's look at the ergonomics. The fully unfolded scooter is perfect for most adults, my 6ft hubby said it was comfortable for him on the fully extended handlebar setting. The screen is in the middle of the handlebar it's easy to read even in bright sunlight. The button could be better, it doesn't offer that much feedback and I wasn't always sure if my press was registered. Especially that some things only happen in certain circumstances. For example you can only turn off the scooter when stationary, makes sense, but when I wanted to test this I wasn't sure if I pressed the button or not as the feedback wasn't great. My hubby said pressing the button in gloves weren't very good either. Pressing the button during a ride is also a bit hard, not just because of the lack of feedback but also due to the fact that one hand has to let go of the handlebar. So changing between modes (ie riding faster, slowing down then changing down to pedestrian mode) is hard work while riding. It's much more intuitive on my ebike, where I can change modes just by moving my thumb up and down on the button. The indicator buttons are a clever addition. What I found in practice is that when riding the scooter, it's not that easy to find them without looking down. Maybe with more practice I could get better, but I think having a button on each side would be more intuitive and would require less looking down. So to summarize, button placement could be better. It works, but to use it on a daily basis, without stopping and or looking down would require a redesign. There is also a bell on top of the brake lever. This is such a clever design I don't understand why I have never seen it on bikes. It's the perfect place for it. The bell could be louder though, it doesn't seem to be loud enough to alert people of your presence. One thing I should also point out is that the clever folding mechanism of the handle bar is awesome. But it has its downside too. There is no space anywhere and the handlebar to mount anything at all. So no phone holder for navigation, or rearview mirror or other such things. The fold down foot holders are pretty good. The forward facing design allows for low centre of gravity and a stable ride. Looking behind my shoulder feels safe in both directions and it's also easier than on a conventional scooter. The feet are kept at shoulder's width apart which further improves stability. By bending the knees centre of gravity can be further lowered which comes in handy when going downhill and braking. The footpads are wide enough for the average feet but some might find them too narrow. I can see how a compromise needed to be made to make the scooter slim enough. I was perfectly able to push the scooter with just my legs without it being awkward even with the footpads sticking out. This was one my early concerns, but it prooved to be unfounded. So if the battery dies, one should be able to push themselves home in a pinch. The footpads house some lights as well. By default there is a glowing red light in them that is always on, or flashing amber on the corresponding side when indicating a turn. There is a 3rd red light on the rear mudguard, that is again always on, turns bright red when braking. The scooter sports 10" tubeless tyres which do a great job at dampening the unevenness of road surfaces but they are not miracle workers and big potholes are still an annoyance and can cause one to fall over as well. But these are far the best I tried so far and they are even better than my other scooter with active suspension. When I first tried the scooter the front wheel was not spinning properly and stopped after a few seconds. I contacted pure customer services who quickly provided support. One of their engineers contacted me with a video on how to remove the front tyre to have a look what is causing the issue. But just by watching the video I was able to identify to problem: the brake cable was too tight and was interfering with the wheel as it was constantly engaged to an extent. So it's worth checking before you go for a ride, as the increased resistance would have a negative effect on battery life.Speaking of battery. It's built in and cannot be removed. This is due to the foldable design probably, but it is a compromise. I kept the scooter out in the garage in February and in one week the battery dropped to 30% from 100 without any use. Luckily the foldable design will allow most to keep the scooter indoors away from the cold. The battery is quite big anyway and should offer some decent range, however I only had very little time to spend with it. The weather being constantly bad and cold I didn't experience such a good battery life and anything claimed by the company should be looked at as optimal circumstances which would hardly happen all the time. The motor in the scooter is a 500W unit which is one of the biggest ones on the market it's got some serious pulling power. It's entirely possible to do a wheelie thanks to the powerful motor placed on the rear wheel. This motor can regenerate using brake force but don't expect this to be able to recharge your batteries, not even in hilly environments. It's a nice extra that recoups some lost energy. In my experience, the scooter can reach a max speed of 15.5 mph in a few seconds on level terrain, and can fly up on moderate inclines at a speed of 6-8 mph but it stopped on a too steep hill. It put up a good fight and got me up halfway, so that's still something, but only at a speed of 2 mph, which was walking speed. It looks quite silly, but at least the rider is not getting tired in the process. The app isn't very useful if I'm honest. It doesn't provide a lot of data and I think it's a missed opportunity altogether. One thing you can do from the app is to set the cruise control. This needs to be set in the app and can't be set on the scooter. Once enabled, a little sign tells the user on the scooter's screen that the cruise control is on. To activate it, you just need to keep the accelerator in one position for a few seconds and than the cruise control kicks in and you can let go. It doesn't have to be the max speed, so cruise control can be set at a sensible speed. It seemed to me that I was able to tap the brake quickly to slow down for a sec without deactivating the cruise control. Only braking harder or tapping the accelerator turned off the cruise control, which I think is a clever design as you can resume speed after a quick tap on the brake, to help with cornering for example. Back to the app: it also shows you the battery level and battery temperature of the scooter. It shows you how much CO2 exhaust you didn't do by choosing to ride a scooter compared to car or public transport. It's neat, but not all that useful. There are no stats of previous rides, no location info of your scooter in case you misplaced it (as in someone ran away with it). You can lock the scooter that can be unlocked after a pin, but this lock is by no means very secure. It locks the motor, which if you want to push the scooter away will push in the other direction. As in if you push the locked scooter forward, the motor will push backwards, if you push it backwards, it will push it forward. The scooter however can still be pushed away, or just simply picked up. But the motor should stay locked until your phone gets near it and unlocks it. So at least the stolen scooter remains unusable. The app also displays your speed, but in case of the advance models this is totally useless, as there is no space for a phone holder on the handlebar, so it displays the speed in the rider's pocket. Never mind, speed is displayed on the screen of the scooter too (in km/h or mph)Conclusion: It might look like my review was concentrating on the negatives, so I want to emphasize that this scooter is Great with a capital G. It's built like a tank, while also being a looker. It's got a powerful motor, a big battery, it folds down to a compact size, and it's full of clever solutions that make it stand out from the crowd. It's a comfortable ride, and the only things I found issue with were minor and were mostly about ergonomic choices. I hope the next generation of pure scooters will build on this great design and improve the ergonomics to make it even better. Folding the scooter wasn't as seamless an experience to me as the videos would make you believe. I often had difficulty unlocking the latches, but I tested the scooter in cold, so this is expected, and it didn't really give me any grief, it just wasn't as easy. The biggest issue I think, especially given the price of the scooter is the legal limbo the scooters found themselves in the UK. You're not allowed to ride one on public roads, period. Not yet. This really makes recommending any scooter a hard thing. It's immense fun, and can be very useful. I could for example use my car to get to the neighbouring city and find free parking easily. I could take out this foldable compact scooter from the boot and hop on it and ride the last mile to my workplace. This would save me £80 a month on parking alone, and some petrol. Even in bad weather, as the scooter is waterproof to a better extent than most rivals. All I'd need is a jacket and a helmet. Problem is I can't yet. I'm looking forward for legislation to change so I can take advantage of this scooter. Until then it's a superb "toy" that I can ride only to take out the rubbish. For that it's pretty expensive even if I factor in all its positives. Fingers crossed the wait is not long.

Great first impressions first of all there's no real building to do is so simple doesn't take long to unfold the scooter at all you get two sets of instructions one set which is the inside of the box and a colorful booklet stroke manual which is very well written great graphics really comprehensive and impressiveI didn't look at the instructions at first is so simple to unfold simply everything just clicks and then you can lock into position you can adjust the steering very impressive I like that it has three speed restrictions it weighs very little you can fold it up nice and compact you do have to push start to get it going but you get a nice length of cable for the charger overall very impressedIs a two-step scooter so you have steppy inside and once you've stopped if you fold up one of the steps you have a stand that you can position these scooter on brilliant I'm so impressed with the look and the functionality of the scooter it is exceptional you have a light on the front you have a bell it's quite easy to turn throttle simple press push down the button and it goes brilliant I have to say that the mudguard at the front is quite low but it is rubber at the bottom so it deflects and he bumps that you get and I like that these are proper tires which they give you a pump to keep inflated overall very impressed
