Really happy with this purchase. I didn't want a foldable one since kids would be using it so wear and tear on it wouldn't have been good long term. The pieces are really nice, good finish classical look. I think the storage with cut out slots is probably one of the best features as it would be easy to identify if a piece went missing and also prevents it from rattling about when moving it around. Happy overall with this however I can potentially see the felt coming off some of the pieces, but its still early days and I'm sure a bit of glue would easily fix this.

It’s a good chess set, the pieces are wooden and very nicely crafted (some kits have really janky pieces with rough edges and overcut joints)The chess pieces are magnetic, but I was disappointed to find that the checkers pieces are not; this is upsetting because I specifically bought a *magnetic* chess and checkers set. I’m thinking about drilling out the underside of each piece and gluing magnets in there to make the set function properly.The drawers are nicely lined with a cutout that holds all the pieces securely but the drawers are simple slide-in design which tends to go off course and get stuck quite easily. Rubbing some silicone wax along the sides has helped this problem.

After looking through any chessboard set I finally chose this one and I’m happy I did.I purchased this for me sons 12th birthday and he’s extremely happy with it, able to play both chess and checkers.The magnetic chess piece are brilliant along with the draws in which all the pieces fit perfectly.The quality of the board and pieces is excellent can’t be more happier.

I really like this set. Even the box has the feel of quality about it and there's plenty of packaging to keep it all safe.Once out of the box the feeling of quality doesn't go anywhere. It's a lovely wood finish and even smells like it's been recently varnished. I didn't notice any rought edges or unfinished surfaces. The only thing I noticed was that one of the drawers was a little stiff, but that'll loosing up with usage.The drawers! Each drawer has cut outs for each individual chess peice and they fit perfectly. The peices themselves are nicely made and the magnets are pretty strong. In fact sometimes they're too strong with peices trying to stick together as you move them around the board!The only slight let down is the checkers peices. I think they were added as an afterthought and it shows. They're well made though don't have quite the quality finish that the chees peices do, but don't have any magnets attached like the chess peices do. It's not a big problem by any means and it speaks to the quality of the rest of the set that these stand out by not being the same standard.At the time this set was priced at £50 which is probably on the higher end of what I'd say the set is worth. I don't think I'd be dissapointed if I'd paid that amount for it, but I'd probably try to find it slightly cheaper.

I loved everything about this chess set (but note it is smaller than standard tournament size). The build quality is great and looks and feels very premium. The only downside was there are no algebraic chess notations (the letters and numbers on the board a-h and 1-8) to me that was very important, and I was quite annoyed that this chess doe not have it. I like to learn to play with notations as is the norm but can't with this, unfortunately. So I returned item.
Awesome Quality Chess Set
Purchased this set for my son for Christmas and we both absolutely love it. Very nice attention to detail, pull out drawers, magnetic pieces and love the wood board. Only complaint is the checkers pieces are not magnetic.

Das Schachspiel macht einen sehr wertigen Eindruck! Es ist eine Freude mit ihm zu spielen, aber auch nur als Blickfang macht es einen sehr guten Job. Die Schubläden sind gesichert, dass sie nicht komplett herausgezogen werden. Würde ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen!
