5.0 out of 5 stars Can be carried around rolled up in a bag so electric wheelchair users won't get stuck
I ordered this wheelchair threshold ramp to use when visiting a friend whose conservatory has a little lip/threshold going into the kitchen and I couldn't just approach at speed and bounce my big powerchair in because of their furniture which meant that I felt left out and unhelpful, stuck in one room when everyone else was helping out in the kitchen.I also wanted to use it when out and about at events when I struggle to get over cables which are spread over paths and tracks, and also to help me get into restaurants with slight steps without needing such a dramatic, wheelchair and body-unfriendly bounce to get in.The PVC ramp means that it's easy to roll loosely and keep in a bag on the back of my powerchair., I'm tempted to buy the 2.5cm version for restaurants and pubs with a slightly higher step so I can get in more easily and not all businesses invest in ramps for electric wheelchair users, especially when their steps are low and they don't understand how difficult and painful it can be to approach at speed and bounce in or out – or just not bother trying to get in when it's too sore to bounce.5* – This PVC wheelchair ramp is such a great idea and it will make life easier, be it at home, visiting friends or when out and about. I love the fact that the material means the ramp can be rolled up and kept in a bag on the back of the chair so you don't get stranded or have to miss out
4.0 out of 5 stars Stays in Place Nicely
This door strip looks neat and tidy and is substantially made. It is unlikely to work in all locations, being 15 mm deep. This means that a door opening outwards may well catch on the strip and push it out of the way. There is a groove on the underside into which an electrical cable may be placed, should you wish to have an extension cable crossing a doorway.Being longer than the width of the door I found it necessary to cut the strip to fit. I tried a sharp knife, but the material was far too tough. I found the only way to cut it was with a hacksaw. In my case this was reasonably easy as they were straight cuts. I imagine that cutting to a shape around a door frame for example, would be a tedious job and difficult to get a neat finish. In use it undoubtedly reduces the risk of a trip hazard in my doorway and stays in place in the door aperture.Overall, in the right situation I feel they could be beneficial and at £14.99 represent good value for money.
3.0 out of 5 stars Ramp
It wasn’t what I thought it would be my fault really
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect strip for a slight drop down.
Got this as I have a slight lip from my kitchen to my hallway. So i placed this strip along there and it’s worked a treat.I can easily move up between moves now this is here without getting stuck.Item comes in a long box, so unpack and place down and it’s all set.I did place some double sided tape on mine to hold it in place, but you could probably screw through the material to hold it in place if you wanted it sturdier.
4.0 out of 5 stars Ramp for door threshold
The LIEKUMM 1cm Rise Threshold Ramp comes flat and sealed in plastic within a long box which was a pleasant surprise to me as I assumed it would come rolled. It includes fitting instructions but no adhesive, so I'm assuming the ramp is a temporary installation. However, I ordered it to go at the door entrance from the kitchen to the living room. My 2 year old granddaughter was getting upset at the door bar/threshold which kept getting her toy pushchair stuck as the floor levels are 1 cm higher in the living room where there is laminate flooring. I thought the ramp looked better flat side up and have used the strong glue that requires no nails to keep it in place. The ramp is very sturdy and heavy. Easy to cut. Well-made and would be better used as a ramp for wheelchairs etc. with the ribbed side up but only if the step is higher than 1cm. In my case it works fine but I wouldn't have paid £12.99 for it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very Handy
Our son is wheel chair bound so we are used to trying to get hsi chair over door thresholds and its often a real pain. This ramp is very flexible in both use and also in construction, its a heavy weight rubber ramp which resists being pushed around. Although it would be nice if they also offered some self adhesive pads for a more semi permanent fix as it can still be kicked out of place and could become a trip hazard. Its also great to cover any cables that may run across the threshold when times your cutting the grass but still need the ramp in place to enable a route to the garden. The ramp can also be cut to size but you need a sharp craft knife to do it.Its definately heavy duty and feels and looks up to the task of exterior use as well as interior.
3.0 out of 5 stars Effective little threshold strip but seems expensive for what it is
Nice little riser to give 15 mm lift between floor levels. I've placed this between our internal garage (which has a concrete floor, and the utility room (which has laminate). The lip between the two is just enough to allow you to trip up if you're not watching what you are doing as you move from room to room, so this strip is well worthwhile having. It arrives in a long box so there's no waiting period while it flattens itself out, unlike other threshold strip of this kind tha I have had in the past.Like most other reviewers, I have used double sided sticky pads to fasten the strip to the floor, since it had a tendency to meander out of place as soon as it's caught by one's foot.I would have thought they would have provided sticky pads for it, since it's pretty much a universal requirement for it. Also, at 13.99 it seems expensive a piece of extruded silicon strip, given that pretty much the only expense involved in producing the product is the compound from which it is made and the box in which it arrives.
5.0 out of 5 stars As expected
This ramp strip exactly fits our doorway and bridges the threshold for getting the push-chairs in and out. The plastic is solid and supportive. The ribbing on the back is not especially grippy and we may add some double-sided tape. At £13 it's perhaps a bit expensive.
